Chapter 19 - A wolf thing

***Callums pov***

I was keeping my distance, listening in but not interfering, knowing the sting of Zandras cane. I kept my eyes on Hope. If I saw or felt her getting sad or upset, I gave her a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder or a stroke over her hair..I made sure they had wine to drink and after a couple of hours Greta arrived with a tray filled with cheese and fruits.
As Zandra came to the part where I was Hope’s mate and the reason I came to find her, Hope looked at me and gave me a shy, genuine, approving, loving smile and was that a hint of flirt in it? Maybe it was the wine, but it made me warm and in need of another cold soaking.
“You take care of this girl Callum, she is one of a kind”. Zandra said and pinched my cheek, leaving an angry red mark on it.
“And you my dear.” she turns back to Hope, “I know it’s a lot to take in, but trust in your mate, there is nothing he won’t do for you. And trust in your wolf, when unbound, she will make you the strongest heir to Aayla, I can feel it.”
She makes Hope promise to visit her at home tomorrow and then she says her goodbyes and leaves.

The room is silent, I don’t know what to say or do and I’m feeling a little nervous.
This is not like me. The big bad Alpha with the charming smile that makes shewolves swoon.
Another knock on the door and Reece walk in, making Hopes face turn to a deep shade or red.
“Hi guys! Whats up?” He says and throws himself down beside Hope on the couch.
“Hi Hope” He gives her a mischievous smile. “Up to speed yet?” he asks
“Kind of, its a lot” She answers and relax a little.
He gives me a quick report about the newcomers, updates me on the vampires that is laying low at the moment.
“Oh no,” Hope blurts out as she suddenly remembers something.
“You promised to visit Thomas and Anna to look at their room! That little girl is going to hate me for keeping you from her!” She says.
“I visited them when I was getting the wine hours ago,” I assured her, amazed by her big heart.
“So, Reece, why are you really here? You could have told me everything by link,
” I ask him, knowing he is up to something.
“Yeah, you got me. I just wanted to meet the bad ass girl who’s gonna help us win the war” He smirks. Hope laugh out loud.
“That would be me! Hello! I’m Hope and you better watch it!” She laugh again
“Nah, I’m not scared” Reece says
“Really?” She ask
“Really!” He answers and chuckles.
She turns to look at him and I can feel Luna from across the room. Waves of power are rolling off her and hits Reece with full force.
“Holy fuck!” He screams and tries to back away but falls off the couch and lands hard on the floor. Hope laugh so much her eyes tear up
“Oh my!” laugh “You should have seen your face!” laugh “Like a little pup!” laugh
“Shit Hope, when did he unbind you?” She clearly impressed Reece.
“He didn`t, we haven’t come to that part yet.” She says and gives me a shy smile.
“Wow!..When the day comes, I’m with you on the battlefield” He smiles and start moving to the door.
“Well, I´ll let you get to it, unbinding and stuff. ”He wiggles his eyebrows at me and I push him out the door.

And there it is again, the awkward silence.

I walk up and sit beside her. Taking her hand in mine, playing with her fingers.
“So..there is nothing wrong with the static electricity here?..” She says
“Nope,” I answer and smile at her.
“It feels nice, like electric tingles on the skin” she look down at our fingers.
“It will get even better, stronger.” I say before I can stop myself
“Really? When?” She asks looking at me.
I feel my face go red. What is this? I`ve never blushed before.
“Hrmm..” I clear my throat “When we..when I..shit..” I cant get the words out so turn to her, take a deep breath and let her scent calm me down.
“It will get stronger after..if we mate and mark eachother”
“What do you mean by mark eachother?”
“Well, the bite in the neck, its not something for just you or your wolf, every mated couple does it to connect thier wolves”
“Oh..does it have to be on the neck?
“No, it doesnt have to but if you remember the story. The neck was the spot Selene chose to bite Aayla, its the spot were the wolf spirit are strong” And, it is a good spot for the mark, showing utmated wolves to back off. I smirked.
“And the sniffing?” She ask, a pink blush on her cheeks.
“The sniffing..”I laugh..”thats one word for it I guess”
“You said it was a wolf thing?”
“It is”..I let my hand wander up her arm, brushing away her hair, exposing her naked neck.
“When we find our mates, their scent overwhelms us. Thats how we know we are mates..kind of. The scent is strongest in the crook of the neck” I let my finger grace the skin of her neck and she shivers.
“The scent of a mate is much more though..its relaxing if you are tense, upset or sad. And…never mind” I say and clear my throat.
“What? Tell me!”
“Its kind of an aphrodisiac” I say and my voice comes out more husky than intended.
“Oh..”

“Hope, what do you think about all this? How do you feel about it? I ask as look in to those green eyes of hers.
“How do I feel? Hmm, lets see..I have a wolf bound in me, You will have to bite down in my neck to unbind her and apparently you are the only one who can because a Goddess named Selene, Artemis or whatever, gave you to me as my mate. Oh and after you bite me and let my wolf loose I will become a horndog but still fit to kick some vampire’s ass. Did I miss anything?” She take a few breaths. I am to baffled to even respond to what she just said.
“Look Callum,” she starts “I get what needs to be done. A few days ago I would never have believed any of this, but now, with everything I`ve seen, everything Zandra told me, everything Luna is showing me in my head..how can I not belive it? she says
I take a strand of her hair and put it behind her ear
“Callum, its just one thing” A blush creeps up her face
“Tell me!” I say
“This is kind of embarrassing, but it was a choice I made. I am twenty two years old, and I have never..I mean, I have had boyfriends but never..I’m a virgin!” She finally speak out and my heart is swelling in my chest, Beacon is showing me a cartoon were the heart pumps out of a figure.
“Why would that be embarrassing?” I ask her. Still with her hand in mine and my other playing with her hair.
“Because I have no experience.” She looks at me, so shy.
“I think we will figure it out” I say and give her a reassuring smile
“One more thing..I know what will happen when you unbind me..but If I’m gonna become a werewolf, I mean complete werewolf, I would still like to be human when I lose my virginity, I would like to lose it before you unbind me” She looks at our hands, she doesn’t want to look up and her blush is telling me the reason. Beacon is howling in my head but I push him back, he needs to understand that he must back off for now.
I lift her head with my hand under her chin and look her in the eye.
I lean forward and I kiss her lips. Pulling back a little and look at her.
“I will never force or stress you in to do anything,” I tell her
She looked back at me, her eyes somewhat hooded, and this time, she leans in for a kiss. She moves her lips against mine and I can tell she’s done atleast this much before.
“That felt good,” She whispers when we pull apart for air
“Mhm..it did, you taste amazing”
“Another wolfthing?”
“Perhaps”
I can se her eyes are getting tired, letting Luna take over, even for a few seconds
is exhausting for her, and as much as I want nothing more than to keep exploring her mouth and her body, I gather my strength and let go of her hand.
“I think its time for you to sleep, its been a long day for you” I said standing up.
“There is a new toothbrush on the sink and I left you one of my t-shirt to sleep in” I tell her and help her stand from the couch.
She is so close and she puts her hands on my chest. I inhale her scent, she notice and looks up at me.
“What do I smell like?” She wonders.
“Red roses and strawberry”
“Kind of girly, I dont se myself as a girly girl” She giggles
“I think it’s womanly, and I see you as a woman, your scent fits you perfectly” I smile at her.
She tosses her hair over her shoulder and tilts her head, baring her neck to me.
I lean in and close my eyes. My nose wanders up and down the croock of her neck while I inhale deeply, feeling her in every nerve in my body. I leave small kisses on her skin at first before I part my lips and let my tongue join in. I kiss her neck deep and the taste of her explodes in my mouth. I feel her fingers tighten on my chest, trying to grab a hold of me so I slide my arm around her waist and pull her hard against me.
I hear her moan of pleasure as I suck and nibble her skin and it takes all my willpower to pull away.
“I’m sorry..” I whisper with my forehead against her. “You..your..I just …”
“Its ok, really..eh..I'll just go get ready for bed..” she stuttered. Her cheeks are flustered and her eyes show a mix of embarrassment and lust.
She passes me and walked in the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
I’m about to lose it, her arousal is so thick in the room, and I know I will if I don’t leave.
“I have some work to do in my office, you go to bed and I'll see you in the morning,” I call to her before leaving the room.

I sit behind my desk, a glass of whiskey in my hand and the taste of Hope still on my tongue. I close my eyes, savoring the lingering a little more before rinsing it away with the liquor. After emptying the glass, I put my feet on the desk and drift off to sleep.
