Chapter 1108 Violent And Cruel
Angel was using Azalea to get closer with Helen. She successfully left a good impression on Helen when she pretended to be a gentle and polite lady. She came home and spewed nonsense in an exaggerated manner to Deborah. She wanted to deceive Deborah into thinking that Helen was fond of her being the daughter-in-law of the Clark family.
Angel knew that Deborah had taken her seriously judging by the surprised look on her face.
Angel was now hoping that Deborah would mention this matter to Fandrey. Her grandparents would then contact the Clark family to partner up Richard and her.
Angel did not pay much attention to Richard as she had no intention of marrying him last time. However, things were now different as she had set her eyes on him.
Angel began to search for all the information about him. She was also intending to let Richard get attracted to her apart from wanting to take his hand in marriage. She aimed to transform Richard into being loyal like how William was to Valeria.
The only way to win the war was to grasp one's target in an extensive manner. Angel had successfully gotten ahold of Richard's details via the internet.
Richard had the same personality as William for being flirtatious and had a knack for beautiful women. He was also a smart and talented person like William. Richard was an ill-tempered person and racing was his hobby.
These were all the information that she managed to gather online. Angel still needed to know more about his other tastes.
It would be logical for people that were closest to him to know more about him compared to acquaintances or strangers. How should she go about obtaining Richard's preferences then?
Angel was struggling to come up with ideas when the door was suddenly being knocked. She frowned and said, "Come in!"
Madelyn smiled politely while holding a glass of milk in her hand. "Angel! I have brought you a glass of milk."
A trace of disgust flashed through Angel's eyes before disappearing quickly upon seeing Madelyn. Angel grinned and replied gently, "Madelyn, have you been discharged from the hospital? When did the doctor allow you to do that?"
"I was discharged in the afternoon," Madelyn felt contented when Angel was being caring towards her.
"Are you feeling much better? Didn't I tell you to stay in the hospital for a few more days?" Angel asked in a pretentious manner.
"I have yet to be fully recovered. I can't sit back and relax as I am worried about you. Hence, I left the hospital ahead of schedule."
Madelyn was telling the truth as she genuinely cherished Angel. She insisted on getting discharged as she wanted to be with Angel all the time.
Angel, on the other hand, had assumed her to say this out of loyalty. She secretly scoffed and thought that Madelyn was utterly foolish. Angel was the one who had caused her to fall down the stairs. She was curious about Madelyn's reaction should she knew about it.
She was lost in her thoughts and Madelyn walked towards her before giving her a glass of milk. "Angel, do enjoy this glass of fresh milk!"
Angel took the milk with an annoyed look on her face and had a few sips of it. Madelyn did not intend to leave and her gaze was fixated on Angel's iPad. She was stunned upon seeing Richard's picture on it.
"Isn't this Richard? Angel, are you friends with him?"
Angel ignored Madelyn as she felt irritated by a bombardment of questions from her. Madelyn did not want Angel and Richard to have any business with each other as she was intimidated by him. "Richard is an emotional person and has an unstable temper. Angel, it is best if you distance yourself from him."
"Do you happen to know Richard as well?" Angel asked.
"Yes, I do. My husband used to be a driver of the Clark family."
"Ah yes, I have almost forgotten about it." Angel swiftly recalled the way that Azalea had been treated in the Clark family. Azalea should know Richard rather well since she resided in the Clark family for quite a period of time. Should Angel ask her regarding the things about Richard then?
Angel thought to herself and asked Madelyn, "Does Azalea knows very well about Richard?"
"I guess so. I often heard Azalea mention Richard in which he was a terrifying person."
"Really? What do you mean?" Angel became curious.
"Azalea claimed that Richard was not easy to get along with. He would treat everyone coldly except for Abbie. He was a cruel and violent person. One would suffer an ugly death or a serious injury upon getting onto his nerves," Madelyn began to spew nonsense.
"Is that so?" Angel was also a merciless person. Her eyes lit up in excitement upon hearing about it and asked further, "What did he do in the past?"
Madelyn initially thought that Angel would be petrified upon hearing about Richard being a relentless person but it was actually the total opposite. Angel was instead feeling exuberant upon hearing about it. Madelyn continued her act as she did not know what was going on in Angel's mind. "I heard that many of the servants at home were beaten by him until they have experienced physical disability. One of them was even drowned as he pushed the servant into the water. In short, Richard had done countless terrifying stuff."
"Is he that remarkable? It is unexpected for him to behave in such a manner, isn't it? Didn't the rumors claim that he happens to be a playboy?"
"Yes, he likes to flirt around and changes partner in a blink of an eye. He used to have different girlfriends every three days and they were all gorgeous-looking celebrities."
"What? Isn't that an exaggeration? I have yet to notice any scandals about him ever since I came back to the country long ago. Don't you think that is bizarre?" Angel queried with a suspicious look on her face.
"Miss, he did not hook up with them in public. He would always do it in secret."
"Really? Do you happen to know his favorite things in life? Such as his interest, hobbies, and preferences?" Angel questioned further.
Angel was now being very curious about Richard's fondness and Madelyn's heart jolted upon hearing about it. Did Angel have feelings towards him?
This was truly an unforeseen situation. Madelyn was starting to feel suspicious about it and mumbled, ''Well... I'm not quite sure about that."
"Alright, you should rest up as it is getting late," Angel placed the milk glass on the tray as a gesture in notifying Madelyn to leave her alone.
Madelyn still wanted to have a longer chat with Angel. However, there was no reason to extend her stay there. She had no choice and eventually said goodnight to Angel before leaving the room.
She went downstairs with the tray in her hand. The door of the study room was suddenly opened when she walked past the living room. Callum came out from the study room and frowned upon seeing Madelyn. She immediately greeted him in hopes to leave a good impression, "Mr. Floyd, is there anything that I can help with?"
"Nope." Callum stared at the tray in Madelyn's hand and asked, "Did you give Angel a glass of milk just now?"
"Yes!" Madelyn politely replied.
Callum had assumed that Madelyn was entrusted by Emily to take care of Angel. He tried to advise Madelyn upon thinking that she was nevertheless the aunt of Angel, "Angel has a very bad temper and you need to be the bigger person when she talks to you in an unpleasant way. She will appreciate your efforts as time goes by."
"Angel does not treat me poorly!" Madelyn said in a courteous manner.
Callum did not dwell further into this topic and headed upstairs upon hearing Madelyn's reply. She breathed a sigh of relief as Callum was not suspicious about her motive in taking care of Angel. It seemed that Emily's name was indeed a useful weapon for Madelyn.
She felt at ease when the Floyd family did not suspect her to have any ulterior motives in mind. However, she began to feel anxious upon recalling how eager Angel was to know more about Richard just now.
How was it possible for Angel to be attracted to Richard?
Angel was free to partner up with anyone else apart from Richard! Madelyn was genuinely terrified of him.
She had met Richard several times and he seemed to have a knack for reading one's mind. He was always very clear about Madelyn's train of thought.
Madelyn sensed that her dirty acts would be exposed by Richard if that day really came.
He was indeed a dangerous person. Would Madelyn's plan be fully grasped by Richard if Angel was really fond of him?
This was an unimaginable mess. It would truly be game over for Madelyn!
She needed to come up with a way in preventing Angel from being attracted to Richard.
