Chapter 517 A Bully
When Valeria and William arrived at the hospital, Richard had just reached there too.
Then, the three of them went to the treatment room together. Abbie had told Valeria that she wasn't injured, but in fact, besides some scratches on her arms and neck, a few of her fingernails were broken too.
Inside, the doctor had just applied for medicine and bandaged her injuries when Richard came in. As soon as Abbie saw him, she let out a pitiful cry.
Richard looked upset as he said, "What are you? An animal? How could you start a fight with someone just like that? Don't you feel embarrassed?"
Abbie was aggrieved as she heard this. "I didn't want to, but she was bad-mouthing me back then! She told a woman that I'm ugly and that I had a bad temper. If that was it, I would have let it slide. But no! She even said that I had gone around seducing every man I met when I was abroad. I couldn't just let her say those things about me, can I?"
"What? How dare she say that? You shouldn't have just hit her. You should have shoved her head against the wall until she bleeds to death!" Richard didn't say anything, but Valeria got angry upon hearing Abbie's words.
"I've already gotten a hold of her hair and was about to shove it against the wall, but I didn't have much strength in me after a few drinks. Besides, that b*tch that was with her was helping her back then, so I didn't succeed." Abbie immediately replied with a frustrated expression.
"Where's that b*tch right now? I'll help you to get revenge!"
"I don't know. They pissed me off and tried to hit me. Anyway, the both of them were hurt badly too."
"No, we can't just let this slide! We have to get revenge. Later, I'll teach those two b*tches a lesson. I don't mind causing another commotion. They've already got beaten up once, so why not another round of punishment?"
Valeria rubbed her palms as she said this. Initially, Richard had wanted to scold Abbie for being reckless, but seeing Valeria's reaction, he stopped himself.
That b*tch had dared to accuse Abbie of seducing men while she was abroad. If he were present back then, he would definitely not be able to control himself and would have hit her too.
After all, Richard was famous for being overprotective of his sisters.
After hearing what Valeria had said, William caressed Valeria's head and said gently, "Hold up. She's your cousin. Aren't you afraid that your grandpa and dad will be after you?"
"I'm not afraid. I have my husband to protect me."
"You're unstoppable, then!" William chuckled and said, "Okay, that's enough. Richard and I will handle everything, and you two should keep yourselves out of this."
At this moment, Gavin and Archer came rushing into the treatment room. Valeria's face darkened instantly when she saw them. "Grandpa, dad, what are you two doing here? Did Raymond ask you to come?"
"Yes!"
"Well, that's funny. You said that your married daughter doesn't belong to the Saunders family anymore. So, the matters of the Anderson family should be handled by themselves, right? So, what are you two doing here? To help them? I'm telling you, I'm Abbie's best friend. If you really plan to do so, then I'll..."
Before she could finish her sentence, William covered her mouth with his hand as she saw how furious she was. Then, he smiled at Archer and Gavin. "Do mind her manners. Please don't be angry. I'll teach her a lesson when we get back home."
"You... let go of me!" After Valeria broke away from William, Archer shook his head and said, "Valeria, we didn't come for Talitha. Your grandpa and I are here to solve the problem. We have investigated what happened tonight. Talitha was the one who dissed Abbie first, which caused the whole incident to happen. Your aunt is on her way, and we can discuss about the solution together."
"Would you be bias and help Talitha?"
"Of course not." Gavin promised.
"Alright, then!" Valeria was relieved and satisfied with Gavin's answer.
Meanwhile, Raelyn rushed into Talitha's ward, and when she saw that her face was swollen and ruined, she shook with anger.
"What happened? Why did she fight with Abbie?"
"She..." Raymond didn't know what to say.
"What's wrong with you? Wasn't she with you? Are you just going to do nothing and watch her get beaten up?" Raelyn glared at Raymond and questioned him as she couldn't control her anger anymore when she saw her daughter in such a terrible condition.
His face was full of shock as he hadn't expected Raelyn to blame this on him. It was ridiculous!
He was already fueled with anger when he was scolded by Abbie because of the fight just now. However, Raelyn had picked the wrong time to provoke him, so he immediately retorted to her.
"Aunt Raelyn, you're wrong. I'd never intended to bring Talitha out tonight, but she had insisted on following me. Besides, the fight between her and Abbie happened in the ladies' room. How could I follow her in there? What's more, she's just my cousin! Even if she is my biological sister, she has parents to take care of her, right? I'm not her guardian, so why is this my fault?"
Raelyn hadn't expected him to talk back to her, so she was speechless for a moment.
Meanwhile, Talitha, who was in bed, burst into tears as soon as she saw her savior. "Mom, you have to help me! Abbie is arrogant! I didn't mess with her, but she had beaten me up like a madwoman! She grabbed my hair and hit it against the sink. I'm almost bald because of her! Boohoo... If I hadn't been saved back then, I would have been beaten to death!"
"How dare she! Who does she think she is!" Raelyn was furious as Talitha's matter not long ago has yet to be solved, and Abbie had attacked her again this time. When would this end?
Raelyn was angry and she picked up her phone to call Devon immediately. "Darling, Talitha was beaten up by Abbie and her face is all ruined now. The Clark family has gone too far this time! How could she treat our Talitha like trash? I can't just do nothing and watch her get bullied like that. I want them to pay!"
On the other end, Devon was furious too when he heard about the incident. "I will arrange a lawyer immediately. In the meantime, you should tell you dad and brother about this first. I'll definitely make things difficult for Richard this time! Oh, and by the way, ask her what started the fight."
After Raelyn hung up the phone, she turned to ask Talitha, "Did Abbie hit you for no reason?"
"No... I... me and..." Talitha was hesitating to tell the truth about how she and her friend had bad-mouthed Abbie. At that moment, Gavin's voice rang from outside. "It's this ward! Let's go in!"
"Dad! Archer! You're here!" Raelyn turned her head when she heard Gavin's voice and joy flashed across her face when she saw them.
Since Gavin and Archer had come here so quickly, she assumed that they were here to help her. As she thought about this, a figure stepped into the ward behind Gavin and Archer.
It was Richard! Raelyn's eyes were blazing with anger when she saw him. "Mr. Clark, glad that you're here. I was going to contact you, but I didn't expect that you would be here already! That's great!"
Richard looked at her indifferently. "Mrs. Saunders, nice to see you too. Why are you looking for me, though?"
"Oh, so you're playing dumb now? Don't you know that Talitha was beaten up by Abbie? Look at her!" Raelyn questioned him while pointing at Talitha, who was lying on the bed.
"You were looking for me because of the fight? What a coincidence, I came here for the same reason too. I heard that Miss Anderson was seriously injured, so I came to see what's going on."
He said slowly as he walked to the side of the bed and cast a glance at Talitha. Then, he sneered and said, "That's it? Abbie, that liar! She told me that she hit Talitha until she was toothless? This isn't even close! Her teeth look pretty intact to me!"
Raelyn thought that Richard was here to apologize as he had come here with Gavin and Archer. However, she didn't expect him to say these words after he saw how badly beaten up Talitha was. Thus, she was so angry her body trembled, "Richard Clark, you're going too far!"
