Chapter 1647 Was He Hallucinating
In the one week that Azalea was in the hospital, the rumors of her marriage to Michael spread like wildfire. But she had not seen Michael even once.
Azalea was extremely anxious. She sent Michael videos and pictures of the child and even begged him repeatedly so that he would visit them.
Yet Michael refused to go with the excuse that he was busy with business trips. As Azalea saw that he was indifferent to the birth of the child and even had the leisure to go on business trips, Azalea became even more uneasy.
After the fifteenth day, Michael finally relented and told Azalea he was returning to B City the next day. He would go to the hospital to visit Azalea and the child after landing in the city.
Azalea was overjoyed to see Michael's reply. The next morning, she got up early to dress herself up and put on makeup. The child was also out from the incubator and was lying on the crib in Azalea's suite.
Time passed by slowly. By eight o'clock, there was still no sign of Michael. Azalea sent another message anxiously.
But Michael didn't reply. Was he going to stand her up?
She thought about it and called Francis again. Francis told Azalea that Michael's flight was at nine o'clock and told her not to worry.
Only then did Azalea sigh in relief. She had got up to prepare since five o'clock. Now that her makeup was smudged, Azalea started busying herself with fixing it.
The plane landed safely at the airport. Abbie, who was wearing a pair of sunglasses and a cap, walked out from the VIP passage accompanied by a few bodyguards in black.
On the other hand, Michael's plane also landed at the airport. Michael walked out with his phone in his hand while accompanied by his assistant.
Azalea called Michael again to ask when he would go to the hospital. Michael answered impatiently, "I just got off the plane. I'll see to it half an hour later!"
"Our child and I will wait for you!" Azalea said affectionately.
With a look of disgust, Michael suddenly saw a familiar figure at the exit.
Abbie?
The young woman in the coat had the same figure as Abbie.
Michael followed her without thinking. He ran to the exit and saw the woman getting in a Bentley.
As the car started and the window was rolled down, the woman in the car took off her sunglasses. Michael then saw her exquisite face.
It was exactly the same as Abbie's!
Michael was stunned. This was impossible! How was this possible?
Was he hallucinating?
Michael did not believe that he would Abbie still alive. He immediately rubbed his eyes in disbelief. But after that, the car window was rolled up again.
He didn't have the chance to look at the woman for a second time. So was this woman Abbie?
Then, Michael's assistant also ran over to Michael. "Mr. Davis, why are you in a hurry? Our car is over there."
Michael watched as the Bentley drove away. He felt strange. He was certain he did not lose his mind. He did see Abbie's face.
He had to figure out what was going on. Michael strode straight to the car that was picking him up. After getting in the car, he immediately instructed the driver, "Hurry up and follow the Bentley!"
As the driver started the car, the assistant rushed over and opened the door to get in. The car drove out in the nick of time.
The Bentley drove at a fast speed, and the driver had to speed up to catch up. The assistant was puzzled. "Mr. Davis, aren't you going to the hospital? Isn't this the wrong direction?"
"I'm not going to the hospital. I'm going to follow the car in front of me. A woman is sitting in the Bentley, who looks the same as Abbie!"
"Huh? Are you seeing things?" The assistant asked in disbelief.
"I might be wrong, but she feels too familiar. No matter what, I have to follow and see what's going on!"
As he spoke, the Bentley in front drove onto the freeway, followed by Michael's car.
There were many cars on the freeway. Although Michael's car cut through the lanes, it was still a distance away from the Bentley.
"Can't you hurry up?" Michael urged anxiously.
The driver also wanted to get closer, but there was a speed limit on the freeway. He told Michael, "There's a speed limit. If the police stop us, we will get a ticket!"
"Don't worry. You only need to follow the car. Someone will deal with the other things."
Hearing Michael's words, the driver immediately sped up. But at the same time, the car in front of them also sped up.
The two cars kept a distance. Michael felt it even more strange. The person in the car seemed to know that he was following them and kept a distance from his car. Then who was the woman in the car?
The driver of the Bentley looked at the rearview mirror and said, "Miss Clark, Michael's car has been following closely! What should we do now?"
"Let him be." Of course, Abbie saw Michael. She deliberately showed her face to Michael. Michael should be very surprised to see her face, and now he wanted to prove that she was still alive, didn't he?
Abbie sneered as she called Leonard. "Michael has been following me. Get your bodyguards to teach him a lesson!"
"Hmm," Leonard replied. "What sort of lesson to you want to teach him?"
"That depends on your ability. At the very least, you need to break his arms and legs. Otherwise, this won't count as a good gift."
"So cruel?" Leonard was delighted to see Abbie treating Michael mercilessly.
"Am I cruel? Isn't this nothing compared to me almost losing my life? Get on with it."
"Alright, I'll ask them." There were a few unruly men among the people that Leonard had sent to pick up Abbie.
It was a piece of cake to deal with Michael as he didn't bring any bodyguards with him. But Leonard didn't want to attract attention. He had just provoked the Floyd family. He didn't want to make the Davis family his enemy as well.
Leonard called his bodyguard. "Let's stage a car accident. Don't take it too far. It's enough as long as we hurt Michael according to Abbie's wishes!"
Michael's car followed the Bentley around the freeway. When the Bentley exited the freeway from the west exit, Michael instructed the driver to exit as well.
The car in front then began to speed up and changed lanes without signaling. When Michael's driver reacted to change lanes, a modified SUV sped towards them and rammed into Michael's car.
The airbag was quickly deployed, and Michael's head was covered with blood. The huge impact made him lose his consciousness.
The police and paramedics rushed to the scene.
Abbie sat in the car as she took off her sunglasses and watched the paramedics carry the people out of the car expressionlessly.
Michael's shirt was stained with blood, and he was motionless. She looked at Michael indifferently as he was carried into the ambulance. Then she ordered the driver, "Let's go!"
