Chapter 1601 Meant Something Else

Veronica looked surprised after seeing the message. She immediately got up and went out of Ornard's ward to the bathroom.
After closing the door, Veronica looked at the text message carefully several times again and couldn't help laughing. She quickly replied, "If that child is not Richard's, then who?"
"I don't know, but I'm sure it isn't Richard's child. Ms. Laban, you must be super happy to hear this, right?"
Of course, Veronica was very happy. The child that Angel gave birth to was not Richard's, and she had lost the ability to get pregnant as well. At this point, she was already useless.
This was all karma. Ornard tried to kill her, but now his daughter was facing the consequences.
If Ornard knew that Angel's child was not Richard's, he would be furious, right?
Veronica couldn't wait to tell Ornard the news, but she also knew that it was not the time for her to expose the secret yet.
She put away her phone and returned to Ornard's ward full of joy. When Ornard woke up, the servant was helping him sit up.
In a good mood, Veronica stepped forward and put a pillow on Ornard's back. Ornard leaned against the head of the bed and looked at her with a gloomy face.
When he woke up, he asked the butler about the reason he fainted. The butler didn't hide it from Ornard and told him the truth.
When Ornard heard that there was something in his blood, he immediately thought that he might have been poisoned by someone.
Moreover, Veronica had involved in his recent diet. Could Veronica be the one who killed him?
Ornard had done so many evil things to Veronica. Therefore, the first person he suspected was Veronica.
He asked Veronica gloomily, "Where did you go?"
"To the bathroom," Veronica replied. Her mentality was strong enough as she faced Ornard's gaze and asked softly, "Do you feel better now?"
"No! I just asked the housekeeper. He said that the doctor said there's something bad in my blood. What do you think it is?"
Ornard was implying something. Veronica knew that Ornard was suspicious of her, so she said casually, "I don't know! We have to wait for the results of the test to come out to be sure."
"Okay! Let's talk about it when the result is out then!" Ornard said and had a scary look on his face. "Veronica, do you still remember how many years we've been together?"
"Of course I do. It'll be 35 years in two months!"
"It's been so long. You know me very well, don't you?" Ornard asked again.
"Of course I do!" He only cared about profit. He was greedy, vicious, and shameless!
Veronica scolded Ornard in his heart. Ornard smiled and said, "There are still two months before our anniversary. What present do you want?"
"You don't have to give me anything." Veronica forced a smile.
"I often think about how I've let you down over the years. I once said that I would give you what you desire. Veronica, what do you want the most?" Ornard asked again.
Back then, what Veronica wanted the most was to marry Ornard as his legitimate wife, but now she didn't need him anymore.
She didn't say anything so Ornard reached out and grabbed her hand. "Veronica, when the matter is over, I'll marry you!"
Veronica felt extremely uncomfortable when Ornard grabbed her hand so she withdrew her hand. Feeling that her action was too abrupt, she immediately showed a surprised expression. "Are you sure?"
Ornard had been observing Veronica's movements and expression. He had always thought that Veronica was his pawn. He could do whatever he wanted, but now it seemed that it was not the case.
Ornard sighed and was about to speak when a phone call came in.
It was Gurmisran. Ornard answered with a question. "What's the matter?"
"Bad news, Mr. Laban!" Gurmisran's voice sounded panic-stricken. "Miss... she... she's hurt!"
"What do you mean?" Ornard suddenly raised his voice. He had just woken up from a coma, but the sudden increase in his voice made him feel out of breath.
Gurmisran's stammered as he spoke, "Miss, she... she was hurt... There's a lot of blood... It's horrible!"
Ornard's mind was buzzing at this point. "What... how's the situation now?"
"In the emergency! What should we do now, Mr. Laban?"
"Let the doctor save her!" Ornard shouted, but he didn't manage to catch his breath and fainted again.
There was blood on the ground at the door of the emergency room of the hospital. Gurmisran put away his panic look after the phone call and looked at the door of the emergency room with a poker face.
Angel on the other hand, was anxious when she heard Paisley say that Helen was unwilling to admit that she had given birth to a child.
She couldn't wait to find Richard, but she didn't know that something had happened as soon as she left the hospital.
A man came out of nowhere and began to stab Angel. Madelyn was accompanying Angel at that time but she ran away when she saw what was happening, fearing for her own safety.
Later, some passers-by saw this scene and shouted, which saved Angel as the person quickly ran away.
Angel was stabbed a few times, and her face was covered with blood while she was dodging and struggling.
When Gurmisran heard the news and rushed to the hospital, he saw blood all over the ground. He called Ornard to report the situation. Ornard fainted, and Gurmisran sent a message to Silas to report Angel's situation, in which Silas did not respond.
Gurmisran felt that things were not simple. He took out a cigarette from his pocket and wanted to smoke it, but was stopped by a nurse. "No smoking here!"
Gurmisran threw the cigarette away and motioned for Madelyn to walk to the corner of the stairs with him. After looking around and finding no one, he lowered his voice and asked Madelyn, "Do you see clearly who did it?"
"That person was wearing a mask so I couldn't see his face clearly." Madelyn shook her head.
"He rushed out without saying anything?" Gurmisran asked again.
"Yes, he just rushed out and stabbed the little b*tch."
Madelyn thought of the situation at that time and laughed gloatingly. "That little b*tch hit and scolded me. This is her karma! Let me tell you, her face has been disfigured. There is a deep wound from the left side of her face to the right side. Her flesh can be seen turning out. It's terrible!"
Thinking of that scene, Gurmisran felt sick. Madelyn no longer had any feelings for Angel. She only wanted to return the pain that Angel had caused her.
"Gurmit, it's meaningless for you to keep her at this point. When will you let me tell her the truth?" Madelyn was anxious to take revenge.
"Calm down! It's not the time for revenge yet. Don't forget that she has a rich and powerful father! If Ornard doesn't fall, you can't act rashly." Gurmisran glared at Madelyn.
While they were talking, Paisley came over with Danya.
