Chapter 1173 Special Relationship
Meanwhile, in the United States, Ornard was lying on the hospital bed with an oxygen mask while he pretended to faint. He soon heard footsteps from the corridor when the Floyd family arranged for people to bring flowers into the ward.
Veronica and Ornard's assistant were waiting in the ward when the Floyd family entered. They greeted Veronica politely, "Madam is here too! I was entrusted by Fandrey and Callum to visit Mr. Laban!"
"Thank you for your hard work!" Veronica took the flowers from him and invited him to sit down.
The visitor sat down and politely asked about Ornard's condition, "How is Mr. Laban now?"
"The operation has been done and the doctor said it was successful. We're just waiting for him to wake up now."
"Did the doctor say when he will wake up?"
"He wasn't specific about it and it's possible that it'll be during these few days" Veronica replied vaguely.
"Well, Fandrey and Callum are very sympathetic to Mr. Laban's injury. They hope that Mr. Laban will recover soon!"
The visitor came to visit on behalf of them the Floyd family. Ornard had no family other than Veronica. Since Veronica was a member of the Floyd family now, she could not speak on behalf of Ornard. Instead, Ornard's assistant expressed his gratitude.
The visitor left soon after they talked for a while.
Ornard's men and Veronica sent the visitor from the Floyd to the elevator before they returned to the ward. Just then, Ornard had taken off his oxygen mask and asked, "Was my act believable?"
Veronica nodded. "Not bad!"
Ornard heaved a sigh of relief. "I will rest assured as long as we can deal with the Floyd family. By the way, did Angel say anything to you?"
Veronica shook his head and said, "She didn't tell me anything."
Ornard said while he looked at Veronica, "You don't look too good. Are you tired after taking care of me?"
Veronica denied, "I just had a cold, it's not because I took care of you."
Ornard showed a distressed look and said, "You should go back to rest first if you don't feel well. You don't need to accompany me here! You can't be sick as well, or else our family will be in danger."
"Okay, I'll go back and rest first. Call me if anything happens," Veronica did not insist and left.
After Veronica left, Ornard called Gurmisran and asked, "Have you settled the domestic affairs?"
"I'm preparing the money now. The other party pointed out that he wanted to blackmail you, so I think he'll keep his promise when the money's in place."
"I hope so! Is Paisley still obedient to us?"
"She does not dare to disobey us, but she must feel very resentful. But there is no other way and we can only compromise. Mr. Laban, I think you can consider giving up on Paisley. After all, she is not a good person and it'll be bad if she decides to betray you in the future."
Ornard knew what Gurmisran meant very well. "I know she's not a good person, but we can use each other. It's just a matter of who can do it better. The construction project now is in her hands, so I can't fall out with her now. I think it's possible to maintain this relationship with her for a period of time."
"Aren't you afraid that Veronica will turn against you? She must be very dissatisfied with you because of Paisley." Gurmisran reminded.
"I know. She already has some doubts about me." Ornard sighed. "I was separated from Veronica because of Paisley this time. I can't count on Veronica to contact Angel alone and I have to do it personally."
"Are you going to tell her Angel about her real identity?" Gurmisran asked.
Ornard denied, "We don't have to tell her now. Let's take it one step at a time. If it doesn't work, we can tell her the truth."
Gurmisran advised, "Mr. Laban, I think you'd better make plans as soon as possible. It's better to reveal Angel's identity slowly to her and let her know your relationship with her. She will never favor Floyd family, so your goal will definitely be achieved."
"Well, I will consider this. Now I... I actually hope that Angel can marry Richard. She thinks the same way as well, but the Clark family doesn't agree to this. I don't know what they're is thinking. Angel is quite beautiful and she's part of the Floyd family. What would Richard disagree with? Could it be that they suspect Angel's identity?"
When Ornard talked about this, he was also shocked. However, Gurmisran did not seem to agree with him. "This shouldn't be possible, right? Even the Floyd family was unaware about this, so how could Richard and William know about this?"
"Maybe I'm just overthinking! You should keep an eye on Angel and make sure Paisley doesn't make any mistakes regarding the city construction!"
Ornard didn't know that his conversation with Gurmisran had been secretly recorded and sent to Jaxon.
The audio clip that Jaxon received only recorded what Ornard had said, but Gurmisran's words couldn't be heard at all.
After Jaxon listened to it several times, he felt that Ornard was discussing Angel's matter with someone else, and that Angel and Ornard must have some sort of relationship. Jaxon couldn't determine their relationship, so he sent the audio to William.
William was talking to Marcus and Bobby when he received the audio from Jaxon. He did not hide it from the two men and directly played the clip.
After they listened to the audio together, William asked Bobby and Marcus, "What do you think?"
"If I'm not mistaken, Ornard means that he has some sort of relationship with Angel," Marcus replied.
Bobby also nodded. "I think so too, but what is their relationship? Did Ornard just find a random baby girl to replace the real heiress of the Floyd family? I don't believe that he has no other plans."
"Ornard is vicious and shameless, and he also controls the Floyd family's property. I'm sure he will never simply find a random baby girl to replace the heiress, and he must have had a thorough plan." Marcus said while patting his thigh, "I have an idea, is Angel Ornard's daughter? But I have never heard that Ornard has ever had a relationship before."
Marcus' words made Bobby come to his senses. "You don't say, Angel may really be Ornard's daughter. Although it's not known if Ornard had a lover, he really had an affair with Paisley. He must have been involved with a woman before this when Angel was conceived. What do you think, Sir?"
William, who had stayed silent, nodded. "Yes, there's such a possibility! Logically speaking, Ornard and Angel don't have any blood ties. He shouldn't have treated Angel so nicely, but she has always been very dependent on Ornard and Veronica. Veronica has lived with Angel for at least twenty years, so it's reasonable for Angel to rely on her. However, Ornard is different. "Then what are we waiting for? We should carry out DNA tests on Ornard and Angel. I'll arrange for someone to do it right away, Sir." Bobby volunteered.

William then asked, "What is Madam doing now?"
Bobby reported, "Miss Clark had a fight with Azalea a few hours ago and Angel was also there. They had an argument as well. Do you want to tell the Floyd family about this?"
