Chapter 969 Same Wavelength

As Valeria was about to call William, Abbie was afraid that she would go back on her words, so she asked Braelynn to testify for them, "Braelynn, you have to be the witness for our bet so that Valeria won't go back on her words."
Valeria picked up her phone and put her call with William in speaker mode while saying, "There's no need for me to be that shameless! Anyways, I'll show you my mental connection with my husband today."
"Hubby, I have something to ask you. Do you have any locations in mind for our wedding?"
William laughed, "Do I really have the right to voice my opinions now?"
"Of course! After all, it's our wedding, so we should both be satisfied with the decision, right?"
"In that case, I'll get straight to the point," William said with a cough, "I had an idea since before to host the wedding in Arcadia."
"Go on!" Valeria winked at Abbie.
Abbie pursed her lips and mouthed a reply, "He hasn't said the specific location yet, so don't get your hopes up!"
William laughed, "I originally wanted to choose Schwerin Castle, but later, I changed my mind when I saw Neuschwanstein Castle. You can see the Alps in the background with a beautiful lake and castle in the surrounding, so it would definitely be very romantic to have a wedding here. What do you think, honey?"
"Hubby, we are literally on the same wavelength! I love you so much!" She hung up the phone and stretched out her hand towards Abbie, "When will you give me the bag?"
Abbie fell backward with a look of disbelief, "This is impossible! You definitely played some tricks in here. How can William's thoughts be exactly like yours?"
"We know each other too well. I've told you before." Actually, Valeria was not confident when she called, but now she felt proud.
"Anyway, I don't think that this is possible. I suspect that he was watching us through a security camera and overheard our conversation. That must be the case!"
"Are you trying to go back on your words?" Valeria reminded, "Braelynn is here as our witness."
Braelynn smiled from the side, "There's a low chance that Mr. Howard is spying on us. He isn't that free."
"Time to admit defeat, Abbie! The bag is mine! I won the bet today!" Valeria smiled.
Abbie had a bitter expression on her face, "How unfortunate! The chemistry between you two is too wicked! I'll admit defeat now, but I will never make bets with you again!"
Valeria and Braelynn laughed heartily at the situation, so Abbie couldn't help but laugh along with them.
In New York, Ornard exhaled a breath of smoke as he sat in his study room. The ashtray next to him was already filled with cigarette butts, and the room was filled with smoke, while his gloomy face looked terrifying and horrible.
The sound of footsteps came from outside. Soon, the door of the study room was pushed open, and the smoke in the room choked Veronica, "Cough cough!"
She covered her mouth and waved her hand to disperse the smoke, "Hey, what's wrong with you? Are you trying to choke yourself to death?"
She covered her mouth and rushed to open the window for ventilation. When Ornard saw his sister come in, he put out the cigarette and asked, "Why are you here so late?"
"I called you, but you didn't answer, so I had to come and check up on you." She said as she stood by the window with her mouth covered, "Bro, are you upset because of Hardy?"
"Yes." He did not hide the truth, "I thought that he would be a good pawn to use, but who would have thought that he would act like this? William took care of him so quickly."
"He is so useless. Paisley too! Didn't they say that she's smart and knowledgeable? Heh, those are all rumors. They were completely wrecked by William! What a joke!"
"Hardy is no match for him, so what can you expect from Paisley? It's normal for this to happen, right?" Ornard shook his head.
"I just think it's ridiculous. Such a talented woman is now considered the mistress of a family, and she was beaten up so badly! How will she meet people in the future?" Veronica said mockingly.
"Paisley is not a simple person, so you shouldn't underestimate her. Experience will make her grow. There's no way she'll let this go so easily, so I'm really looking forward to her response."
"Come on, didn't you say that Hardy was no match for William? What can she do?" Veronica did not believe that Paisley would be able to fight back, "Bro, you don't have anyone to use now. What are you going to do in the future?"
"Nothing." Ornard replied.
"Nothing? Are you joking?" Veronica was anxious.
"William is too sharp, so I can't do anything. If he finds out the truth, we'll both die!"
Veronica sulkily walked to the chair and sat down, "So we can only huddle up and hide from him in the future?"
"No, we're just waiting for the perfect opportunity! William is not flawless, so he must have a weakness. We have to wait to take advantage of that and give him a fatal blow. Only then, we can have a good rest."
"I'm afraid that we won't be able to find his weakness, and we'll have to keep waiting. Ornard, I can't wait any longer. I have waited for so many years. I have had enough!"
"It's more worthwhile to wait than to die." Ornard reminded. "William already hates us to death. If he finds out that we're the reason behind Matilda's death, do you think we'll still be alive?"
"He won't know! We did it so secretly and never showed our faces. Raelyn and Declan were the ones who executed everything. What can he find out?" Veronica didn't care.
"You're too naive. William was already able to track down Raelyn and Declan with the mere evidence he had, so he would definitely continue to investigate the source of the poison. Are you sure Raelyn and Declan will keep their mouths shut?"
"Even if he investigates further, he would only find evidence until Callum. We never showed our faces, and all of this was done by Callum. His motive for killing his sister can be to inherit all the family property." Veronica reminded.
"This reason will only work with ordinary people, which is not William. He probably realized that Callum was not a vicious person after interacting with him, so he would definitely try to find the root of the matter." Ornard sighed, "If I knew that Matilda had such a capable son, I shouldn't have let you plan her execution!"
"Do you regret it? But who was thinking about the Floyd family's property at the beginning?" Veronica was not happy, "I hated that Matilda helped Emily to take Callum away, but weren't you also after the Floyd family's inheritance? You even arranged for David to be your spy in the Floyd family! How risky is that! If they were to find out that David was related to you, we're dead meat!"
When Veronica mentioned David, Ornard's expression changed again. He slowly said, "David cannot live any longer!"
