Chapter 1379 Pain
The plane landed at the airport at 9:05 at night and William immediately turned on his mobile phone when the plane stopped.
His phone was bombarded with texts and he quickly picked up Marcus' call. "What's the matter?"
"Mr. Howard! Madam fell down and she has been rushed to the hospital. I've arranged for a helicopter to wait for you at the airport. Come here immediately."
William's grip on his phone tightened subconsciously. "How is Valeria now?"
"We don't know the specific situation. Bobby has rushed to the nearest hospital with her and we've arranged a few doctors there. Fandrey and Mr. Saunders have also arranged for a few experts to check on Valeria on the way. There should be no problem."
"Should be?" William strode straight to the helicopter. "Why did you let Valeria fall down? What was Bobby doing?"
"I just asked the bodyguards who followed her. It seemed that someone had set Madam up and poured something on the ground. Bobby didn't expect that such a thing would happen. Fortunately, Bobby arrived in time when he heard Madam call out his name, otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable."
"Do you think this result is acceptable? I asked him to take care of Valeria and this is how he does his job?"
"Mr. Howard!" Marcus wanted to say that Bobby didn't want this to happen either, but he understood William's feelings when he thought of Valeria's situation. "Madam will be fine! She will definitely be alright!"
William snorted and strode straight to the helicopter, which made a huge roar when it started flying to the hospital. He called Valeria, who was in so much pain that she didn't have the strength to answer the phone.
The auntie answered the call for her. "Madam, it's William! He's back!"
"Valeria! Are you okay?" Valeria burst into tears and cried profusely when she heard William's voice from the other end of the phone. "No, I'm not! Boo-hoo... it hurts! It hurts... Dear, it hurts so much!"
William felt as if his heart was being shattered to pieces when he listened to Valeria's tearful voice. "It's alright, I'll be there soon. Hold on! Hold on for our babies!"
"I can't stand it any longer! Boo-hoo... Why does it hurt so much... I feel like I'm going to die..."
Valeria knew that it was very painful to give birth, but she didn't expect it to hurt so much.
William could imagine how uncomfortable Valeria felt at the moment and he hated himself for not being able to help her. He could do nothing about Valeria's pain and he could only comfort her over and over again.
He hoped that his comforting words could make Valeria feel better, but he also knew that he could do nothing about her current situation.
The doctors arranged by Hayden intersected Bobby's car halfway and several experts quickly got into the car. The Vellfire was emptied for the doctors to work.
The doctor did a check-up on Valeria. The situation was much better than they had imagined. She was going to give birth prematurely because of the emotional shock. At present, her cervix was dilated about 5cm.
Several experts arrived in a hurry after they received the cal and they were also very nervous. After they did the check-up on Valeria, they were relieved and immediately reported it to Hayden, Natalie, and Archer. "Madam isn't facing any complications and the babies are fine. She's just in pain because of the contractions.."
William also heard the doctor's words from the helicopter and he calmed down a little. He didn't hang up at all, but he couldn't stand hearing Valeria cry. "Why would she be in so much pain if there isn't any problem?"
"Giving birth is very painful and it can reach extreme levels of pain. Everyone has different pain thresholds. Some people might feel that the pain is unbearable while some can bear it."
"Is there any way to relieve her pain?"
"I can give her a painkiller injection, but it can only reduce the pain temporarily. People who are sensitive will still feel pain halfway through their delivery. The injection can only reduce some symptoms, but it won't completely remove the pain. Moreover, there will be some side effects and they might have hip pains in the future. If she doesn't want to feel any pain during the delivery, she can just have a c-section."
"Then let's do it." William really didn't want to hear Valeria cry out in pain because it felt like his heart was being shot.
"Then we'll give her the injection. Madam, a c-section will leave a very light scar on the stomach and it may even be removed completely. Just a gentle reminder, can you accept having a scar?"
Valeria's face was scrunched up in pain, but she suddenly sobered up when she heard that there would be scars on her belly. "I don't want any scars! No!"
"Valeria, listen to me. I won't love you any less just because of that!"
"No, I don't want scars!" Valeria couldn't imagine having a scar on her belly and she didn't want to look like that.
Valeria didn't want to have a c-section, so the doctor didn't give her any painkillers. He just comforted her by saying, "The fetus is fine and your cervix is dilating. It's at 5 cm now, so you need to relax. You're just going through contractions now and nothing will happen."
"Every mother has to go through this and the pain is inevitable. Think about your babies being born soon and how cute they'll look to divert attention from the pain."
Valeria didn't want to have a scar on her belly, but she was in a lot of pain. "I can't focus on something else and I can't imagine anything. It hurts so much that I can't think."
William's voice came from the other end of the phone. "Honey, think about me! My sons will be as handsome as I am. At that time, you can ask the three of us to do anything you want. Isn't that great?"
"Yes, but it still hurts!"
"The pain is just temporary. When those two rascals are born, I will help you vent your anger and beat them up."
"No! No one can touch my sons. I'll kill you if you dare to hit my sons!"
Valeria felt much less pain after she shouted. "Honey, I don't seem to be in so much pain anymore."
William heaved a sigh of relief on the phone. "They must be afraid of being beaten, so they don't dare to torture you."
The doctor couldn't help laughing when he heard William's words. "The pain will disappear now, but it will hurt even more later."
"Really?" Valeria was dumbfounded. When the nanny saw that Valeria's lips were cracked, she immediately poured some water and held Valeria's head to drink.
Valeria began to moan again in less than three minutes.
William's helicopter had already landed at the hospital and he asked the doctor when he got down, "How long before you arrive?"
"Ten minutes!"
They had already made preparations at the hospital. A group of doctors and nurses were waiting outside as if they were preparing for war.
William held his phone and stood at the gate of the hospital while he paced back and forth. Valeria kept groaning continuously.
William had never thought that ten minutes would feel so long and the seconds seemed like hours.
Just as he was filled with panic, he finally saw the familiar car and ran over as fast as he could.
"Valeria! Valeria!"
Valeria got out of the car with the help of the doctor. When she saw William, she threw himself into his arms. "I can finally see you! Boohoo!"
William hugged her and said, "Baby! Does it hurt? You can bite me if you're in pain."
"I feel much better after seeing you!" Valeria sobbed, but she felt much more relaxed when she saw William. Although her stomach still hurt, it was not as unbearable as before.
