Chapter 14

Andre's POV
　　"It's Emily's birthday."
　　I sat down at the table in the morning to eat breakfast, Kate came out hugged my leg, and looked up at me.
　　I was a little surprised, Emily and I went to the club together yesterday and played there for a long time, and never heard her mention that it was her birthday until the end, how did Kate know?
　　"Baby, how did you know it was Emily's birthday?"
　　Kate is naughty but doesn't lie, and I could tell by the look of certainty on her face that she was very sure that Emily's birthday was today.
　　"Because I've seen Emily's ID card, and the date written on it is today, December 5th."
　　Kate reached out her little hand and pointed out the date on my phone to me.
　　I looked at her smug little face, reached down and sat her on my lap, rubbed her little head, picked up her breakfast, and fed her a bite.
　　"My daughter is so smart." Looking at Kate's happy face, I couldn't help but smile too, "So what is Kate planning to do for Emily's birthday?"
　　I know Kate, she is young but has her personality. If she didn't have a plan, she wouldn't have told me it was Emily's birthday.
　　"I've already prepared a birthday present for Emily, but I need Daddy's help."
　　I certainly wouldn't refuse Kate's request. So I joined her after breakfast to discuss the day's plans. I didn't know how Emily had spent her previous birthdays, but Kate and I both wanted to surprise her.
　　So after all the plans were finalized, Kate took out her cell phone and called Emily. And I was in charge of determining the venue and the birthday cake.
　　We arrived at the Gaze Hotel early in the morning. The reason why the address was chosen here is that this is the place where we met Emily for the first time and it has a very special meaning.
　　I had contracted the hotel's restaurant, which would be open for use for the entire day. After I told the manager my plan, he started to take the waiter on duty to set up the scene and adjust the lights outside the window.
　　Finally, I took out the dress that my secretary had sent me and gave it to the manager, "When Emily arrives, you give her this dress and tell her to change, and don't say anything else, understand?"
　　"Please don't worry, Mr. Vincent, I will do exactly as you instructed."
　　The manager nodded respectfully at me, assuring me that he would follow my plan. I knew that he had always been a very strict person, so I assured him that I had left everything to him and then exited the restaurant temporarily with Kate in my arms.
　　Everything went according to plan without a hitch. When Kate and I appeared in front of Emily pushing the birthday cake, she covered her mouth with a look of surprise.
　　Looking at Emily's happy face, my heartfelt very happy too. Kate and I sang a birthday song for her together.
　　Today's Emily was a side of me I had never seen before, I had never seen her smile so happily. Her eyes were very sincere and her face was full of happiness. She was very pretty today, and her makeup fits perfectly with the dress I brought.
　　"Emily, happy birthday. This is my birthday present for you."
　　Kate rushed to Emily with flowers in her arms, lifted the red cloth on the center table took out her birthday present from the box, and handed it to Emily.
　　"This is a handmade necklace I made, my teacher taught me how to make it, and I'm giving it to you."
　　Kate's gift was a necklace made from a seashell she found at the beach, and the first time Kate had made something with her own hands. I remembered how much she loved this necklace, but now she was giving it to Emily, and I understood how much she loved Emily.
　　Of course, I didn't want my love to be overshadowed by Kate. So I went up and pulled out another box on the table, which also held a necklace. Before today, I didn't know it was Emily's birthday, so this necklace was an impromptu gift I picked out today.
　　The first thing I saw as I approached the counter was this necklace. A sapphire cut in the shape of a flame. Although she looks aloof and quiet from the outside, she has a heart that is as hot and sincere as a flame.
　　I put it around Emily's neck, and when I looked down and saw her on the verge of tears, I couldn't help but gently kiss her forehead.
　　"Happy birthday, Emily."
　　"Andre, I'm so happy today. But how did you know about my birthday? I don't remember telling you...," Emily asked me suspiciously as we sat at the table eating lunch, finally calming down her excitement.
　　"It's Kate, she remembered your birthday after she saw your ID card."
　　I told the truth frankly. After saying that I saw Kate's body twist happily a few times.
　　"Is that so? Oh, Kate, you're so smart."
　　Emily surprised Kate with a hug and a kiss, rubbing her head and complimenting her. Kate smiled, didn't say anything, and looked down to continue eating, but I saw her ears and cheeks were flushed and immediately guessed that Kate was shy.
　　"Emily, what do you want to do after lunch? It's your birthday, Kate and I are at your disposal."
　　I left it up to Emily to decide what to do next, and she cocked her head adorably and thought about it, then said with great excitement, "Let's go to paradise, the biggest one!"
　　"Yeah, that's great, I want to go on the carousel!" Kate was so happy about this proposal that she and Emily discussed the fun rides at the park, while I froze for a moment at Emily's request.
　　I didn't expect Emily's wish to be so simple, like a child, just going to the park made her so excited that she seemed to have endless words to say.
　　"What's wrong? Don't you want to go?"
　　Emily saw my unnaturalness and asked me carefully. It seemed that if I showed the slightest sign of reluctance, she would obediently withdraw her offer.
　　"No, I want to go. I'm going to the car right now, and we can go to the park all day today!"
　　I was able to guess why Emily would want to go to paradise. I subconsciously felt some heartache when I thought about what she had been through before. Emily always acted very maturely and stable when dealing with her mother and her difficult life. It almost made me forget that she was just twenty years old today.
　　I don't know what other people go through in their twenties, but many of my friends around me continue to spend their parents' money when they turn twenty, but some are already working and living independently. However, neither of my friends would certainly consider going to the playground a cherished birthday wish and worry about whether the request is too much.
　　"What are we going to play first?"
　　Emily crouched beside Kate with a map of the park as they leaned in to discuss the first amusement ride. I waited patiently on the side with the balloons Kate had just bought.
　　"The carousel!"
　　"Okay, then we'll play the carousel first."
　　They agreed and ran forward hand in hand, with me following behind them, taking pictures with my phone while they were having fun.
　　Emily and Kate played in almost all the facilities in the park. Not only was Kate not afraid of the haunted house, but she was also even interested in the roller coaster and pirate ship!
　　I followed them all the way and had more and more in my hands. I took Kate's half-eaten cotton candy and Emily's dolls and hair cards, a bag of free goodies, and two costumes that I had to buy.
　　It was only then that I suddenly realized that no matter how old the girls were, they all seemed to have unlimited energy in the park. I was so tired that my legs were shaking, but Emily and Kate were as excited to discuss the next project as they had been when they first arrived at the park.
　　"Kate, sweetie, do you want to go on the Ferris wheel? There will be a fireworks show in the park later, and you'll get a better view from the Ferris wheel."
　　The fireworks show is a traditional item in this park, and there has been a fireworks show every night since the park began to open until now. But whenever the park starts to set off beautiful fireworks, it also means that the business hours of the day are coming to an end.
　　Kate was unaware of this rule because I had never played this late when I brought her here before, so she jumped up and down very happily, "Kate wants to go on the Ferris wheel, Kate wants to go watch the fireworks."
　　I was relieved to think that this sweet and painful trip was coming to an end today.
　　Thanks to the fireworks show, I didn't have the energy to continue the tour.
　　"They are so cute, are they a family?"
　　"I guess they should be, look at all the things that gentleman is holding are from the lady in front of him."
　　"Oh, that's so sweet, they're so in love."
　　We were sitting on the Ferris wheel and the fireworks show outside had started.
　　Boom!
　　One by one, the fireworks exploded in front of us in a glorious display of light. Emily and Kate's faces with surprise and happiness were reflected on the window, and my heart involuntarily beat strongly along with this scene.
　　We are really like a family.
　　My mind went back to the whispers of the people behind us as we were standing in line. When I heard these words I didn't have any thoughts of refuting them, and I even thought it was good to let them misunderstand so much.
　　If the person who married me and walked with me to the end of my life was Emily, it seemed like I had a lot of fun in my future.
　　I might be in love with her...
