Chapter 43

Andre's POV
"Mr. Vincent, I have completed all the assessments on Jack's Mall. I think this mall is very worthy of our investment, and it will bring huge profits to the company once it is completed and put into operation."
Fiona suddenly came to my office without my consent and told me that the risk assessment and profit assessment of Jack Mall had been completed.
Her serious look made it impossible for me to guess the truth of her words. I used to think Fiona was a very good and sober employee, but she did so many things to make things difficult for Emily after I asked her to take care of her.
  "So, what's your opinion, Fiona?"
"I suggest that a meeting of the company's top management be held immediately now, and I will present the evaluation results of this project for everyone, and then the ministers, including Mr. Vincent, will vote on whether to invest in Jack's Mall."
I agreed to Fiona's request and I was very curious to know how she had made this assessment all by herself in just two weeks without conducting a site visit.
"These are the full contents of the risk assessment. I think we should invest in this mall as soon as possible, or we will lose money as a company due to our rivals getting ahead of us."
Although Fiona had said that she would let everyone vote on the decision, she had always acted as if she was implying that the company leaders had to invest in this project. Her tone was very eager, not at all like her previous calm and collected appearance.
I didn't say anything, just looked at the evaluation report. I already knew there was something wrong with this project, Lucy sent someone to check the ID of the person who posted the video of my injury, and finally found that his actual controller was an employee of Claude's company.
I knew at that time that the project must be a scam. Lucy also told me that Nathan, the head of Jack's Mall, was the youngest son of the Claude family and had just returned from abroad a few months ago.
I didn't want Emily to get in touch with Nathan, not only because I was jealous of Nathan, but also because he was the heir to my rival company.
I don't know when Nathan met Fiona, what I want to know more is the purpose of Fiona's promise to work with Nathan.
"I can fully guarantee the reliability of these data. Because the data and also the information was personally done by Emily, an intern in my department, who has been to this mall under construction and who is also Mr. Vincent's girlfriend."
Yesterday Emily and I walked out of the office holding hands over Hellen, and many employees saw us. When I came to work today I heard some of the employees talking about it.
They remembered the news from a few months ago and recognized Emily as the girlfriend I had personally acknowledged, and Fiona did it because she thought she could blame everything on Emily if the project went wrong.
At that point, even if I was the CEO of the company, I couldn't forcefully keep an intern who might be a commercial spy, even if the intern was my girlfriend!
Several ministers' eyes looked at me because of Fiona's words, and they seemed to think that because of Emily's presence, I would agree to the project.
  "Wait!"
  Emily's POV
"Nathan, I don't know what kind of purpose you're approaching me with. But I don't have time to talk to you now, so if you still consider me as your friend, please move aside!"
I wasn't too disappointed with Nathan's approach, I was just angry with him for cheating on me. The competition between two companies is understandable no matter how abominable the other side does, but Nathan cheating me out of my feelings is unacceptable to me!
"Emily, I'm sorry, I can't let you go. You already know this whole thing is a scam, and I can't let you go back to the office and tell Andre all about it."
Nathan stopped me from leaving, he didn't look happy and didn't come hard enough to grab my arm. He just stood in front of me and looked at me with a firm gaze.
"Nathan, you can't stop me, I have to leave. There is no way I can trust you anymore, I will tell Andre about all your plans!"
I pushed Nathan away and ran desperately forward, and some distance away from Nathan I took a taxi to rush back to the office. It was almost too late, and I barged in despite Vivian's obstruction when I knew Andre and the others were already meeting to vote on whether to invest in the project.
"This project can't be invested in, it's simply a scam by Claude's company. That mall can't even be built, and even if it is, it can't be profitable!"
I stared at Fiona standing in front of the computer, my heart full of anger. I thought she was a very smart woman, but I never thought she would be so stupid!
She chose to work with Nathan to be able to drive me out of the company. Even if she knew that the company might lose millions or even tens of millions of dollars because of this project she didn't care, Fiona was overwhelmed by jealousy, she didn't deserve to be the head of the project department at all!
"Emily, this is not a place for you, an intern, get out! You collected all the information for this project, and I trusted you so I thought it could be invested, and now you're telling me no, I hope you can give me a reason!"
Fiona saw me come in and her face turned a little pale. I noticed that her hands were shaking on those documents. It was normal that she would be scared when she betrayed the company for the first time. Still, she was the first to blame me for all the mistakes, blaming me for not walking into this conference room.
"I told you when I gave you the project that I wanted you to go to the address where the project was built again and ask the residents what they thought of the mall without anyone including the person in charge. But you didn't go at all, and if you had, you wouldn't have been able to make this report today!"
I handed Andre the tape recorder, which contained the words of the residents near the mall and Nathan, and I turned on the recording function of my phone and played what Dylan said that day to everyone.
I'm sure anyone who had spent time with Fiona would never have thought that one day the most loyal subordinate to Andre would work with Claude's company out of jealousy to drive an intern out of the company!
"Fiona, you have done more than that to make people feel abominable. You, as the manager of the project department, stole the fruits of the project staff's labor and imposed all the contributions of others on yourself. You fired the best employees to keep the matter from being exposed, leaving the project department with almost no young people good enough for the past few years!"
I opened the door and some of the employees who had been bullied by Fiona, who had stolen the fruits of their labor and who were still in the company and had not left were taken to the top floor by the elevator card I had received from Andre.
I had planned on the way here today to let everyone know the true nature of Fiona, who may have been good at what she does, but is now a thief who only knows how to take advantage of other people's intelligence!
"Emily, you're lying, you just don't like the fact that I always arrange work for you so you lie to make me lose face! Everyone knows what I'm capable of and I don't need to steal from others!"
Fiona retorted, accusing me very loudly of insulting her. But all those employees I brought to the top floor were witnesses, and knowing that this time they could finally tell the truth and would not be threatened by Fiona with dismissal, they told me all about how Fiona had bullied them.
"Mr. Vincent, you believe me ......"
I pushed away Fiona who rushed to Andre's side and tried to grab his arm, I have put up with her for a long time, I hate women like her who step down on others to set themselves up!
"Ms. Cady, you don't deserve to be in the company, Andre trusts you so much and you choose to betray him by accepting a partnership that will cost the company money just to get rid of me! You don't deserve to be the head of the project department, you thief!"
"I didn't, Emily, you have no right to say that about me! I didn't even know that this project would make the company lose money, I just wanted to get rid of you so that you would be disliked by Mr. Vincent or even break up with you! I never wanted to betray the company!"
