Chapter 49
Andre's POV
"Andre, do you have some free time tomorrow? I'd like to meet Kate and have lunch and I'd like you to bring her over, you know I don't have time every day."
I took Kate home today and Emily didn't come back with me because of some business. Wilson and I were discussing the company's growth plan for next year while Kate was downstairs being taken care of by Jane.
My conversation with Wilson had just ended when I got the call from Kelly. I didn't want my parents to know that Kelly and I were still in contact; they disliked Kelly very much and would not approve of Kate seeing her.
I was opposed by Wilson and Jane when Kelly and I got married that year, but because Kelly was pregnant at the time, the wedding went ahead.
Kelly could have left the country and I would not have retaliated against her because of Kate, but Wilson and Jane learned from somewhere that Kelly and I had divorced and forced her to live and work in M State and even A country.
Over the years Kate has slowly grown up, Wilson and Jane have to forget that there is a Kelly abroad, which allows her to return to the country.
I thought Kelly wouldn't dare to bother me if she didn't want to be forced to go back to her country again. But I didn't expect her to start calling me just a few days after she returned and even to see Kate.
I didn't think the same way as Wilson, I understood that I could never separate Kate and Kelly, they are the two closest people in the world and Kate loves Kelly as a mother.
I didn't object to Kate and Kelly seeing each other, but I didn't know what to tell Emily. I didn't want her to know about Kelly, which would have been a very bad marriage for me.
"Andre, it's been a long time, you look even more handsome."
I saw Kelly again and she didn't look any different from before. She was still young, pretty, and sexy, or at least she looked that way.
If I hadn't known Kelly, I wouldn't have believed that she was the mother of a four-year-old.
"Thanks, Kelly, you're pretty too."
I greeted Kelly politely, not wanting to reveal my dislike of Kelly in front of Kate, who was so happy to see her again, even though she had left her early, that Kate was still able to accurately identify her mother.
"Mom, I missed you so much."
"Kate, I miss you too, how are you doing?"
Kate hugged Kelly, and I was worried that Kelly's enthusiasm would be hurt if she acted coldly. But Kelly gently picked up Kate and put her on the seat.
I looked at the window seat and frowned. Kelly never liked to sit near the window when she came to eat at the restaurant before. She said it would be very easy for reporters to take pictures and would be found out about her whereabouts.
"I remember you never like to sit near the window, Kelly, why did you choose such a seat today? The restaurant wasn't full, and I thought we could change seats."
I didn't think it was a good seat now either, Kelly had just returned home and all the media were watching her. There was a good chance she would be followed by reporters, and if we were photographed by reporters sitting by the window eating, it would make the news.
And I didn't want anyone to know about my meeting with Kelly, especially Emily, which would create very much trouble for me.
"It's okay, Andre, sitting by the window can look at the view. I haven't been back to the country for a long time and I want to see more of the city. And don't worry, I observed when I came and no reporters followed me."
Kelly seemed to see my concern and took the initiative to explain to me. Although I didn't know what her purpose was, I thought Kelly shouldn't want others to know that I had dinner with her either.
If this thing was put on the Internet, there was a chance that Wilson and Jane would see it. No one knows if they still loathe Kelly now, and I'm not sure, but they never mention her mother in front of Kate.
If Wilson knew I was bringing Kate and Kelly to meet, there was a good chance Kelly would be sent out of A again by the two of them and never come back.
I sat next to Kate, who was very amused by Kelly's words. I answered Kelly's words politely, so as not to upset Kate.
Lunch ended very happily and Kelly took Kate to the playground again. I had to go along, although I was already very annoyed inside.
"Mr. Vinceny, the internet is full of news that you are going to remarry Miss Simon, and the pictures are very clear. I suspect that the reporters already knew about your meeting with Ms. Simon yesterday."
The next morning, I sat in my office and worked on my work, Emily was not feeling well so she did not come to work. I planned to finish my work and return to the villa to take care of her, but Lucy barged in at that moment.
When I heard Lucy's words, I couldn't help but frown. It was very easy to figure out who had told the reporter about the meeting, and only Kelly, Kate, and I knew about it.
I thought about how Kelly made sure to choose a table near the window yesterday and just felt that I was careless to believe Kelly's words.
"Respond immediately with the company's official account and tell everyone that Kelly and I had just a very simple meeting and that there is no way I will ever remarry Miss Simon. Also, find a few accounts that published the earliest news and sue them for disinformation as well as invasion of privacy."
Lucy listened to my arrangement and immediately left the office to do these things. And I took out my phone and dialed Kelly's number.
"What are you doing? Kelly, I remember you told me yesterday that there were no reporters following you. Then how did they know about me and you having dinner and how did they know we were going to the playground?
I was really angry and questioned Kelly, whose behavior was so annoying that if I hadn't had something I needed her to do, Kelly would have been put on a plane to a foreign country by now!
"Andre, I don't think I was wrong to do that. I'm Kate's real mother, and it's best if I marry you. Emily and you are not a good match.
Kelly yelled from the other side of the phone as if she had forgotten the reason for our divorce, and now she dares to say that she is the only one in the world who can marry me!
"Kelly, I don't have time for your bullshit! I want you to respond to the news on the internet right now and do what my company says, or I'll make sure everyone knows why you and I divorced at the time! I'm very much looking forward to waiting until that time to see if you'll still be available for any of the movies?!"
"No, Andre, you can't do this to me. I'll respond now, and don't worry, I'll cooperate with you, and you can't tell the press about what happened before."
I could no longer maintain my gentlemanly demeanor, and Kelly's behavior made me very angry. I couldn't even imagine how sad Emily would be if she saw the news if she also thought what the reporter said was true!
"Emily, are you still at the villa?"
"I'm here, what's the matter with you calling Andre, I'm in the kitchen making lunch right now."
Emily's voice sounded calm and even a little relaxed. I think she was relieved that she hadn't seen the news yet.
I hung up after talking to Emily for a while, but Wilson's phone call came through.
"Andre, what the hell are you doing? Why are you still meeting with that woman? I thought you were getting married to Emily, and now what's with all the news on the internet?!"
I had to explain to Wilson that they had now accepted Emily, and even more so that I was not allowed to be a man who betrayed his feelings.
"Father, things are not what you see on the Internet, I took Kate to see Kelly just think she is Kate's mother two people can not cut off contact. You can rest assured that I will solve this matter as soon as possible, the object I want to marry has always been Emily, I absolutely can not remarry with Kelly!"
