Chapter 58
Andre's POV
Emily's expression looked very confused, she didn't seem to know how to answer Susan's question the blessing was so simple.
I had received the engagement ring for Emily and me a long time ago, and I had been looking for a suitable time to propose to Emily, but I hadn't found one.
But now I'm suddenly not sure if I made the right choice in wanting to propose, Emily doesn't seem to be very excited about marriage, at least not compared to me.
I noticed the other day at the dinner with Jane that Emily became emotionally distraught whenever Jane proposed marriage as soon as possible.
This reaction was not obvious, at least not to Jane, but I had spent so much time with Emily that I could notice her unhappiness almost immediately.
At Kevin's birthday party, Emily watched Kevin propose to Susan with envy in her eyes for a happy marriage, but I knew she wasn't looking forward to getting married very early.
I stood on the outskirts of the crowd and watched Emily chatting with Susan and the other female guests, and it was very obvious that her smile was very perfunctory.
She was just keeping her polite attitude to the people around her, but in fact, Emily was not happy.
There are many things that Emily likes to keep inside and not to tell others, including me, although she has promised me that she will not hide anything from me and will tell me directly. But this habit is not so easily discarded, at least Emily now still chooses to hide something from me.
"Andre, did you and Emily fight? She doesn't look happy."
Jane saw that something was wrong with Emily and asked me in a voice that only the two of us could hear, while Wilson stood beside her and looked at me with equal confusion.
"Not really, Mother. Emily and I have a very good relationship and we haven't had any arguments."
"Then why didn't she look happy when she received the bride's blessing, and even looked a little puzzled."
Jane is very good at sensing other people's emotions, if she pays attention even if the other person just smiles she can accurately feel the other person's current emotions.
I couldn't tell her that Emily was unhappy because she didn't want to get married and that she was unhappy when she received her blessing and bouquet.
"Emily is not unhappy, Mother. She's just nervous because it's her first wedding and there are so many people she hasn't met before to greet her."
Jane understood Emily's reaction after hearing my words. Emily did look like this when she was greeting the ladies of the elite families with her.
As I looked at Jane and Wilson's back, I suddenly wanted to ask Wilson how he got Jane to agree to marry him.
But I couldn't ask, Jane must be able to guess why. She had just asked me to persuade Emily to relax. It was the first time I felt like I didn't know what to do when I was faced with something like that.
Maybe Emily and I need to have a good conversation with just the two of us for once.
"What a beautiful hand bouquet, Emily, you're great, did you get this?"
When Emily and I got back to the villa, Kate suddenly ran out of the room and hugged Emily, she looked up at the bouquet in Emily's hand and was very surprised.
Emily handed it to her, and she held it carefully in her arms and couldn't help but look at it carefully. Emily and I had planned to take Kate to the wedding today, but we abandoned that plan because kindergarten was not yet closed and Kate said she preferred to stay at school and play with her friends.
"I didn't snatch this, it was given to me by Susan, the bride for today's wedding."
Emily bent down to explain to Kate, her expression very serious. Emily never lies, whenever someone praises her for something she didn't do, Emily always tells that person the truth very honestly.
Kate was not disappointed when she heard Emily's words, she continued to run around the living room with joy. She thought that Emily was able to get a hand bouquet from the bride herself, which must mean that she and Susan had a very good relationship, and that's why Susan had given her good luck to Emily.
"Emily, was the wedding fun?"
"Kate, a wedding is not meant to be fun. It is a very solemn, sacred ceremony. Today's wedding is very grand, with a famous symphony orchestra coming to accompany the wedding."
Emily describes the grandness of Susan's wedding to Kate, but she doesn't seem to be looking forward to having an equally grand wedding. She was simply marveling at having seen such a grand wedding.
"Really? What a shame, if I didn't have school today, I could have seen such a big wedding with Emily. I've never been to anyone's wedding before, but it's okay, Emily and Daddy will have an even bigger wedding in the future, and I'll just attend your wedding then. Emily will be the most beautiful bride."
I think Susan must know what Emily is thinking and worrying about right now, but today is her and Kevin's wedding night, and after that Susan and Kevin are going on their honeymoon, so she won't have any free time to answer my questions.
Emily just smiled and nodded at Kate's words without giving any response. This made me feel very uneasy and anxious, and I wanted to know clearly what Emily was thinking.
"Emily, don't you have anything to say to me before you go to bed?"
Emily and I played with Kate for a while and then sent her back to bed. Back in Emily and I's bedroom, I couldn't help but ask Emily tentatively.
I was desperate to know what was going on inside her head but worried that I would make Emily feel pressured to do so. As patiently and gently as I could, I tried to guide her to tell me everything.
"I'm sorry, Andre, I don't know why you're asking me this question, but I'm not hiding anything from you."
Emily's answer was very quick, and she chose to refute my question with little thought. Suddenly I was a little upset, even a little angry.
Emily and I shouldn't be like this, a good couple should accept each other completely, from the body to mind. But it was clear that there was a little bit of Emily's heart that I couldn't get into.
Couples can have their own separate space, but they can't hide from each other on very important matters. For example, the wedding.
"Emily, tell me the truth, okay? I'm not sure what's wrong with you lately, why do you always choose to avoid the topic of marriage when someone brings it up in front of you? Emily, I hope you can tell me all your inner concerns or confusion so we can work it out together."
I looked Emily straight in the eye so she could understand my seriousness and determination. Emily was silent for a long time and finally, she sighed and sat on the bed with her hands over her face.
"Andre, I don't know what's wrong with me. I've been very anxious lately because of our upcoming marriage, the gap between us is too big, and I'm not able to give you the same help at work as Reson did with Nathan. I'm worried that in the future we'll let the little things in life cause all the love I have for each other and you to disappear."
I walked up and took Emily into my arms, not realizing that she had so many fears and worries inside her. Emily's condition is, in very technical terms, premarital phobia, and all I could do as her fiancé was to give her enough security.
"Emily, you don't have to feel worried. Anything happens in the future, we can face it together, and everything can be solved perfectly."
"Andy..."
Emily listened to my words and stood on her tiptoes to initiate a kiss to me. I certainly did not resist Emily's closeness and pressed her head to stick my tongue into her mouth.
This time Emily did not avoid me, she took the initiative to wrap her tongue around mine and enthusiastically sucked the saliva from my mouth. The temperature was getting warmer and I laid Emily down on the bed, her clothes already removed from her body.
Now Emily was lying naked beneath my body, enticing me with intense desire. I didn't have to make any extra movements, I just thrust my p***s into Emily's body and thrust hard.
Emily let go of her voice and moaned in my ears, making me lose control of my inner excitement. I held Emily tightly and moved on top of her, knowing everything about each other we had a sexual understanding that we had never had before.
Late into the night, I could still hear the sound of my body hitting against Emily's in the bedroom...
