Chapter 54

Emily's POV
　　I only heard a very small part of Emma and Dylan's conversation. I knew that Emma would agree to help Dylan because she needed money and only Dylan was willing to give her that kind of money.
　　But I don't know why Emma would need a lot of money, Toby's company went bankrupt but he wasn't burdened with heavy debt. Even more, Toby had saved enough money to support Bella and Emma for the rest of their lives.
　　Andre once told me that Toby was perfectly capable of starting another company if he wanted to and that Bella's family was more than willing to help Toby and didn't look down on him because he was broke.
　　Emma doesn't need to worry about money, she can even continue to live a rich life with the money Toby and her grandfather's family give Bella.
　　She can still use all kinds of luxuries and go to stores to spend money. I don't understand why she agreed to do something so dangerous and illegal with Dylan, Emma is not that stupid.
　　"My people have made their inquiries, Emily, and it is unfortunate news that during the time Emma was not present, she went to L State, which, as you know, is a gambling paradise."

　　I suddenly understood what Andre was going to tell me, I couldn't believe that Emma would go and do something like that. Had she gotten Bella's permission?

　　Andre didn't seem surprised by Emma's situation; I know he's seen many people lose their lives in L-state because of their gambling addiction.
　　Emma was too stupid, she was so well protected by Bella that she had no idea what was the most dangerous thing in the world.
　　"The casino employees threatened to cut off Emma's hands and feet if she didn't pay them back. Emma made love to them so that they didn't hurt her. Emma was afraid to tell Bella about this and told me she had called you to ask for money but you refused. She told me that she had called you for money but you had refused. And all her previous friends had turned away from her because Toby was broke. Only Dylan was willing to help her, so she agreed to Dylan's request."
　　Emma has turned out to be this way, which I never expected. The old Emma was willful and unreasonable, but at the same time, she was very timid just like Toby.
　　She only dared to attack me verbally, never daring to do anything that could hurt me physically. Although at that time Toby had enough money to keep her from going to jail for these things.
　　I don't think Emma was afraid to ask Toby for money, she just knew Toby as well as I did. Emma knew that even if she told Toby that she would have her hands and feet cut off if she didn't pay him back, Toby still wouldn't help her.
　　Because Toby is such a selfish person, his world is only his interests, anyone who wants to shake his interests is his enemy.
　　In the end, only Bella is willing to help her. But I guess Emma should not want Bella to know what she has done, she is afraid that Bella will be disappointed in her, more afraid that Belka will be sad.
　　But this has nothing to do with me anymore. No matter what Emma had to make this choice because her kidnapping me happened for real.
　　She has to pay for her actions, and Bella can't teach her manners humility, and intelligence. The world will always take the place of the teacher's responsibility and teach her all, just in a cruel way.
　　"Miss Jones, there's a Mr. Brown who says he's your father who wants to see you."
　　I thought it was over a long time ago, that Andre and I had made up and agreed to trust each other in the future, to hear each other's explanations no matter what happened.
　　Emma was sent to prison by Andre, and I didn't say a word for her. Although it was Dylan's idea to kidnap me, if Emma hadn't said yes to him, Dylan wouldn't have had the courage to do it.
　　Then there was the potion. Dylan confessed everything voluntarily to get my forgiveness. He told me his plan was just to strip me naked and take a few pictures so that Andre and I would stop trusting each other.
　　But Emma took it upon herself to take out the potion. She hated me and so wanted all the hurt and pain she had experienced to be repeated on me.
　　If it wasn't for Dylan's disapproval of her bringing in other men, I don't know what a terrible scene I would have faced. I now wonder if Emma was in a sane state of mind when she did what she did.
　　Emma is pathetic, but the people who hurt me don't deserve my sympathy. As for Dylan, his company has been destroyed by Andre joining forces with other companies to destroy all his revenue streams.
　　In just a week, Dylan's company was declared bankrupt and no longer profitable. By the time I found out the news, he had already signed a buyout contract with another company.
　　I don't know how to describe my feelings, I wasn't happy, but I was very touched by everything Andre had done for me.
　　He always cared for me in his way without any reservation, protected me, and taught everyone who hurt me a lesson for me.
　　Before Dylan left A with his parents to go abroad, he once begged me to meet with him. I didn't think Dylan would be capable of doing anything to hurt me again; he had been too tortured by Andre's methods to think anything of me again.
　　I had loved Dylan, but my love for him slowly disappeared after I found out he had betrayed me. All that was left in my heart was boredom and anger towards him.
　　Dylan became unimportant to me, a stranger in my world, and I didn't need to bother with him anymore.
　　As for Kelly, Andre had planned to make it impossible for her to stay in the country and wanted to drive her out of A forever. But I stopped her, she is after all Kate's mother, if Kate knows these things in the future will feel sad.
　　I spent every day of the week waiting for Toby to arrive. emma's story was in the news, he couldn't have been unaware that his daughter was in prison, but I never waited for him to come to me.

　　I thought Toby had been so cowardly that even if his daughter was put in jail, he wouldn't dare to say a good word for her and refute the abusive comments about Emma.

　　Bella wanted to say something else, but I cut her off. I called the maids and kicked them out. I didn't choose to tell Bella the truth about what happened, but I wouldn't let Emma off the hook either.
　　She had to pay for her actions, and even if I chose to let Emma go she wouldn't appreciate it. Emma would only do something even crazier than this one, which neither Andre nor I wanted.
　　But I still asked Andre to pay off Emma's debt at the L-State Casino for her, so that Toby and Bella wouldn't be harassed by those horrible employees.
　　"Ms. Jones, there's good news for you, Ms. Hellen's latest test results show that she's all clear and ready to be discharged from the hospital."
　　"Okay, thank you. I'm going to go check Hellen out of the hospital now."
　　This was probably the most pleasant news I had heard in a while, and I told Andre about it, and he felt happy for me.
　　Together we rushed to the hospital and carried all of Hellen's belongings to the apartment Andre had prepared for her.
　　"Andre, I know Hellen was released from the hospital today. I thought we should celebrate, and since you and Emily are getting married, your father and I should have a very formal dinner with Hellen."
