Chapter 45

Andre's POV
　　It had been a long time since I had returned to the villa to have dinner with Emily, and every time I returned to the villa after a long day of work, Emily was asleep.
　　Although Claude's plan didn't work out because Emily and I found out early, there were a lot of lingering problems, and I was worried that there were people like Fiona who were working with other companies to sabotage the company's growth.
　　I've been busy for a long time trying to settle these things once and for all. And these days there are especially many dinner parties, every one of which I have to be there. Emily doesn't like those occasions too much, so I always take Lucy or Vivian to dinner parties.
　　"Emily has also graduated now, if you plan to go through life together, some things need to be prepared early. There's a lot of things you need to prepare for marriage, so there's no need to rush, but you'd better get the engagement ceremony done now."
　　Jane's relationship with Hellen was getting better and better, and she often visited Hellen in the hospital, because of that, she wasn't stopping Emily and me from doing things and even urged me to hurry up and get engaged to Emily.
　　I agreed to Jane and returned home to Emily already asleep as before. I took out a ruler and measured the size of Emily's fingers without waking her up.
　　"I need to order two pairs of rings, one engagement ring, and one wedding ring. The engagement rings better have a shorter completion date, I need them in a while."
　　"Okay, Mr. Vincent. These are the ring styles, and please pick two more."
　　I came to the jewelry store during work hours under the pretext of meeting with a client and handed the store manager the slip of paper with Emily's finger size.
　　I looked at the diamond rings that the manager had brought out and was not sure which one would suit Emily, and I handed the drawing to Kate, who was sitting next to me, curiously looking at the jewelry on the counter.
　　"Kate, can you help Daddy pick out a ring for Emily?"
　　"This one, daddy, would look great on Emily."
　　Kate pointed to a picture of a painted ring, and I thought Kate had a particularly good eye just by looking at it.
　　"Let's just have these two, I want both the wedding and engagement rings to be unique."
　　The store manager agreed to my request and I told Kate that I couldn't tell Emily about it because I wanted to surprise her.
　　Kate agreed and she looked especially happy that Emily and I were going to get married. Kate told me that these days Emily always asks her why she is so happy, but she remembered promising me something without telling Emily about the ring.
　　"Kate is great! How about when Daddy rewards you with a trip to the amusement park this weekend?"
　　Kate was so happy with my words that she jumped in place several times.
　　I had a party to attend in the afternoon, so I left the villa after playing with Kate for a while.
　　"Kelly, is there anything else you want to see me about?"
　　I was a little surprised to get a call from Kelly out of the blue, she hadn't contacted me since the day I hung up on her. I thought she had given up pretending to be a good mother, but I didn't think she would dare to contact me again now.
　　"Andre, I just wanted to tell you that I've returned home. Do you have time? I'd like to meet you for a while."
　　"Sorry, I've been very busy lately and I don't have time to meet with you."
　　I didn't expect Kelly to still have some not very realistic fantasies about me. I didn't want Emily to misunderstand me and Kelly and refused her without hesitation.
　　"Can I meet Kate for a while? I know I'm not worthy of being her mother, but Andre, I hope you'll let me meet her, she's my daughter after all."
　　Kelly was quiet for a while and finally sounded pleading for me to let her see Kate. I didn't know what her intentions were, but Kate sometimes missed her as a mother, so I chose to say yes.
　　"Okay, you can see Kate, you choose the place and the time, I have things to do now, send me a message when you've confirmed the time, bye."
　　Kelly was right, she was Kate's mother after all. I couldn't stop her from spending time with Kate, it was just a meeting, and nothing too much trouble would arise.
　　"Miss Rosen? It's been a long time, I didn't expect to see you here."
　　I unexpectedly met the lady from the elite family that Jane had arranged for me before at the party. She was standing with Nathan and acting very intimately, which made me feel very curious.
　　"Mr. Vincent, it's been a long time. This is the fiancé my father arranged for me, Nathan Claude."
　　I greeted Nathan politely, pretending that I didn't know him. nathan's previous collaboration with Fiona I could understand, but I didn't accept that he wanted to cheat Emily away from me.
　　Rosen's words also made me understand her relationship with Nathan. People from elite families often let their family's daughter or son marry a person of the opposite sex with another family of equal power.
　　This allows the other family to get some help with their work, and Rosen and Nathan are in such a relationship. They are of the same age, both single, unable to survive on their own without their own company, and want to contribute to the strength of their family.
　　I was very happy with this result, which proved that Nathan could no longer compete with me for Emily.
　　Perhaps it was because I was talking to Rosen a little too close and the scent of her perfume got on my suit and Emily smelled it. I didn't want to tell Emily that I had been with another woman under Jane's arrangement, so I said I was just a work partner.
　　But Emily didn't believe me, and she got angry and moved back to her apartment after Susan called.
　　"Where's Emily? She didn't come to work?"
　　I looked at Emily's desk and asked the newly appointed minister with a frown.
　　"Emily she took a leave of absence, seven days. Don't you know, Mr. Vincent?"
　　I looked at the minister's puzzled expression and didn't know what to say. Ever since the employees of the company knew about my relationship with Emily, these ministers didn't care much about Emily, as long as it wasn't a big deal, it didn't matter if Emily came to work or not.
　　I left the project department and originally planned to explain to Emily clearly when I went to work, but I didn't expect her to be here so I was a little lost.
　　"Hey man, I'm throwing a birthday party, do you have time to join? It's a party that Susan and Emily decorated themselves."
　　"Yeah, I'll be there."
　　I agreed to Kevin's invitation and planned to explain to Emily at the Party, but I didn't expect Emily to take the initiative to apologize to me.
　　I was particularly surprised and pretended to be angry and asked Emily to promise me some sexual favors. Emily and I didn't go back to the villa and had a very pleasant night at the hotel.
　　Emily was very enthusiastic because she had agreed to my requests. We didn't finish our exercise until the early morning and then went to bed.
　　"Andre, I want to know how Toby is doing now, can you tell me?"
　　Emily had gone to see Hellen in the morning and came back to my office and suddenly asked about Toby's situation. I was a little puzzled but told her everything anyway.
　　"Emily, about Toby, his situation may be a bit bad lately. His company has gone bankrupt due to a lack of funds, and a company is ready to buy the Brown family business. the only asset Toby has left now is the villa, but he can no longer afford to pay the maids, and he needs to handle everything by himself. Including but not limited to, cooking, washing clothes, trimming tree branches ......"
