Lidien was trying to convince him to see reason with Hampton and he reinforced that he didn't like the idea.
Lilly growled out meaning she was getting impatient and wouldn't want anything to do with the idea of nobody doing anything.
"Hey, dork calm down," Ash said to her and Lilly couldn't help but frown her face.
"Where he'd hide would be perfect," Lidien said pointing to a tree that was barely even visible.
"If I wasn't preggo I would do it myself", Julia continued earning a scowl from Wade.
" Babe, I said no" he reiterated with clenched jaws and Julia gave up raising her hands because she didn't want them to argue.
He looked at both women trying to look for a trace of fear so he could use it to persuade them of their plans, Asher knew he was with two stubborn women and he had to change their minds from what they were thinking.
"I'll go out instead, with Hampton you all stay in here," he said not waiting for a response.
They all shook their head, and Lidien spoke up.
"it doesn't work that way, Shugar" But before she could finish he stopped her in her tracks and told her to stop.
"You girls stay in here and wait for our signal" Asher said looking at the men who were there.
Hampton answered a phone call before she told them Estaban was already a few miles away.
Julia sat down because her legs were sore and aching, Asher and the rest ran towards the tree and hid behind it with the swords and Bellermines in hand.
Before going out he kissed Lidien and Wase hugged Julia thanking her for the sacrifice she wanted to do and the help she was rendering.
He made Lidien promise to be brave for their Pup's sake and to do exactly what he would tell them to do while he was outside.
She stood by the window and watched her Mate and the others rush towards the tree and blew him an air kiss, she couldn't wait for all of this to be over and for her family to be at peace.
She helped her to the chair and rubbed her aching legs reassuring her everything would be fine.
Lidien looked at Julia and thanked her saying,
"but I think there's another way to get him here, he wants me, and the Pups are not here so it would be easy to lure him to her and he could just have what he wants".
"Forget it, Luna" Pamela, Mathias Mate said
"Asher and the rest would not be pleased with what you are saying so just stay calm and lay low as he said, everything would go well, just trust him" She smiled and hugged Lidien.
They turned toward the window waiting for the emersion of Estaban and his men, they all knew he would never come alone even if he promised to come alone on phone, so they had prepared the mind of the pack warriors to be on high alert, anything was possible with Estaban.
Asher and the others were scared of the unknown but he couldn't let Lidien know that inside he felt like jelly, his heart was beating fast, violently, and he felt a metallic taste of the terror that filled his mouth just as Dean Koontz had described in one of his famous novel "Mr Murder".
He just felt all the things he couldn't express.
He began to have some kind of thoughts as to how his parents were killed during a war when they were not prepared hence bringing about the talk of a chosen one with a mark and the prophecy which was how headed by Estaban who headed the Moon Chasers.
When he embraced his Lidien he felt like that was the last time he would see her and his Pups again, but he had to be strong for them, they were all worth it.
Everything he had and owned was for them so he had to be brave and strong even if it meant him losing his life for them he would, that was how much he had grown to love his family and his pack.
And could do anything for them.
The sword in hand behind the tree he sat quietly waiting for their prey to arrive he looked to Wade and Mathias and signalled to them and they all shook their heads signalling they were ready for anything.
His heart pounding, he lay down flat on his stomach to avoid looking huge behind the tree he knew laying down made him more invisible than standing and it hid his shadow better against the tree.
He wore a grey jacket that had a good so he wore it over his head to avoid the sunlight from getting into his eye.
The day's light was slowly dimming with no sight of Paul who had stated he was close by.
They were about to give up on waiting when a dark montero sport Jeep Wrangler stopped in front of the gate making everyone on the alert, especially after Hampton received a call that stated they were outside.
" When they get in here do all you can to take them all down" Asher's mind linked Wade and Matthias.
"Okay this is okay, "he mind linked Lidien who had said something in their mind link about being careful and when needed any backup he should just signal the women in there.
Even though Julia was preggo that didn't mean they were going to relent and not help their men out, they were going to make sure that they would handle everything together as always.
" I know you all would be successful my children," the previous moon goddess said and Lidien bowed down and the rest did the same in respect.
'They all transformed to their fur nature and were all waiting to attack with all the fierceness they had in them even if this was the last time they would fight together but then something happened.
None were expecting it to happen but it happened.
"What is going on?" Asher asked as they saw Hampton fall to his feet bleeding profusely and there was no sight of Estaban.
Dammit.
The Luna's heartbeat increased and Julia had sweaty palms but they had to be brave she mind linked her mate telling them to retreat she told him to come into the house, the men Estaban had sent were not as wise as he had thought because the idiot rushed directly into the house a move he shouldn't have taken since he claimed to be a wise man same as Estaban was
Lidien stood by the window as he alighted from the vehicle with two huge men with big muscles as though they'd lived all their lives in a gym very muscular no one would even think they could feel pain with all that body muscle.
This made them more scared than they already were, Lidien thought of the trio who were behind the tree and just waiting to attack just realising that they all were and how they would overcome those two men before getting to Estaban.
Asher ran towards the two men and like lightning stroked them both hard and they fell like jelly, he used his canines to dig deep into their flesh and Ash growled in satisfaction at what he had just done.
All that muscle for nothing.
Before the third man could react Wade punched him in the face causing him to stumble backward.
He gasped for breath and shuddered violently.
From the window, Lidien could see everything that was happening and she became frightened she lounge out with Lilly in full display of her beautiful fur and orbs.
He misjudged the degree of strength the woman had, the man was insane, but she gave him another punch that set him flying again and landed on the floor.
She turned around and looked to the window where Pamela and Julia were looking and Julia trying to console her from having a panic attack.
" Run, run" Asher shouted.
Pamela tried taking Julia to the back, seeing her mate being scratched.
They struggled and got out through the back.
Asher and Lidien were scrambling with Estaban's man on the ground
when he raised his head and saw Luna's canines showing bright like the sun he shouted after her cursing and telling her he would kill her, on hearing this Lidien was more determined to take make sure everyone was taken to safety and alert the pack warriors who were on the lookout at the other end of the gate.
Estaban looking into the far end of the camera he was holding cursed and tried to use a smaller gate at the side to launch his attack, when he succeeded in pinning Asher down he pulled out his poison to put into his mouth, Lidien was as fast enough to grab the bottle but was unfortunate in positioning it when Estabanl shot his shoulder he didn't feel the pain that much all that filled his mind was to protect his family to his last breath.
Lidien saw the whole ordeal and rush towards him but Julia blocked and the bullet got right through her tummy, blood splattered on Lidien's face and hands as she saw Julia slide to the ground taking what seemed to be her last breath but she used her powers to stop the bleed and even though it was unfortunate for the Pup who dodgy survive at least was saved they could have more pups later.
She smiled and looked at Lidien telling her thanks for taking care of her even though her pup was not saved and also for giving her a chance at life.
Lidien cried but then realized her mate was in pain and injured she carefully lay Julia down and the pack warriors apprehended Estaban and his remaining goons.
It showed that Wade never heard or felt the shot that hit him.
He was rushing towards his mate and then felt a sharp pain on his shoulder but thought it to be because one of the moon chasers had sent his arrow to his shoulders or had been pressing on his shoulder too much.
Julia ran to him and the next thing he knew he was lying on the ground, the pain had numbed his shoulder and he couldn't move it anymore.
Pamela went on to the ground and saw Mathias she held him and tried to mend his bruises.
There is bleeding but they had not even been as injured as Estaban and his goons.
The pain Wade felt was piercing and cold he shuddered violently, seems he had a fever from the bullet wound.
He lay down there wondering how he had gotten to the floor he believed he had just gotten down to stretch his hand out, but the pain on his shoulder was excruciating and that was why he had landed down on the unusually comfortable ground did him at this point since he didn't want to be moved.
He only realized he had been shot when his mate touched the affected area with her scarf trying to prevent more bleeding and she was frantic trying to lay his head on her lap so he would be comfortable.
The pack medics arrived and carried the body of Hampton, carried Wade on a stretcher, and also carried the Luna for a check she was stressed and Julia was a pregnant woman who had just lost her pup from the shot so they had to check her vitals to know if the baby could be taken out and if she was doing well and if she was injured too.
"We sure did a number today," Lidien said to Asher as she smiled on the stretcher.
