CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO.

(Meliora's POV)

Could I have imagined that there was something called a miracle, that was exactly what happened, I couldn't have believed that Brian was going to get up?

I could see the shock on elder Morris' face as she stared at Brian, it was definitely not possible. The young lady who had wanted to inject him stood shocked.

But everything became unbelievable when Brian yelled and asked no one to come close to him. Elder Morris moved a step back p baby trying not to get close to him because of the curse, or maybe she feared that Brian wasn't in his right mind and he could get hurt

“Brian, you need to calm down, you are hurt, you are injured, you aren't okay yet, why don't you sit down and let us attend to you” Elder Morris said while trying to calm him down and persuade him.

Though I knew if Brian listened to her, it was going to be the end for him.

“I just want t see Martha, bring Martha to me, I need to see her” he said as he began to sob

This was the first time I had seen a grown man wail, and it was really pitiful. I knew how Brian felt, on the other hand he probably had heard that Elder Morris was trying to destroy the curse which eventually would kill him.

“I can assure you that Martha is safe, you shouldn't worry about her, you are the one who needs special treatment and that's why you need to rest and allow us to treat you” she answered.

“A special treatment ? " He exclaimed

However, he stared at everyone in the room until his eyes got to mine. I knew those eyes, they searched for answers, and I couldn't say if I was ready to tell him what was going on.

That he was a threat to humanity, that he had the Rauna virus, that he needed to be killed in order to break that curse, that he was not going to see Martha and his unborn child anymore.

“Where do I start from? How do I explain to him?” I swallowed the saliva in my throat as a tear escaped my eyes.

“Liora, you should explain to me” he turned to me as his eyes pierced my soul like a sharp sword.

Elder Morris turned to me, waiting for me to answer him. She wanted me to tell him that he just needs today still and to get treated, but the truth remained that I wasn't ready to lie, not even to Martha's husband.

He had waited for some seconds for me to answer but as I didn't say a word he realized that there was something wrong as well.

“I want to leave here this minute” he said as he staggered while trying to move.

“Sit Brian, You are unwell, don't you get it ?” She shouted loudly.

“I'm not in for all of this, you can treat yourself Elder Morris, I am fine” he responded.

“He was not supposed to wake up now, if you had given him the dozes just like I instructed you” Elder Morris whispered, turning to the other young lady.

" I thought that was going to be enough for him" she said, her voice above a whisper, Brian wasn't even able to hear what they were saying. I was really close to them to have heard that that had actually induced him earlier.

I knew that at the moment Elder Morris would have started to blame me for hesitating to inject him earlier, but I wasn't concerned, even though I was scared of the so-called Rauna and Brian inflicting us with the curse.

Suddenly, there was sound of the clang of a sword being pulled out .it was Brian's sword, he was really not said as he contused to insist that he wanted to see Martha

Brian held his sword tightly as he pointed it out to the young lady, she immediately made a path as she was scared, Elder Morris absolved aside as she shouted on Brian to sit down.

“Sit down Brian” she yelled

But it seemed like she was getting furious already however she stomped her feet before shouting again

“You are a threat Brian, you are a threat to the pack” she shouted as she wanted her voice to be heard by Brian.

Brian paused for a moment not understanding what she was saying, but I noticed that he was in pain and was literally shocked at the news, he turned his head as he searched for answers.

But the next action by Brian baffled us all. I had expected him to sit and ask what was going on, but instead he dashed out of the room as he staggered.

“The curse is going to spread, stop him now” she yelled as she hurriedly followed him behind.

I also stood up, as I followed them, in as much as I wanted Brian to be alive, he needed not to leave the nursery, if Elder Morris was right he was going to spread the curse to the wolves.

All I wanted was a solution, he didn't need to be killed, but at this point we needed to get him and hold, I had promised myself to conduct a series of tests for him, and get to the root of the curse by any means.

He navigated through as he ran ahead of us, Elder Morris started to call the guards to go after Brian. I knew this was going to cause chaos and eventually the news of the curse would spread, this was going to break Martha.

The guards had spring into action as they dispatched themselves into Finding Brian real quick, for all I could say Elder Morris never wanted anyone to set their eyes on Brian, she would eventually just announce that a warrior was dead without anyone knowing the real cause.

I could see her boil in rage, I could not say where Brian was heading to precisely, but it was going to be a risky one because of the route he passed.

I moved quickly as I got behind him, but something suddenly happened, this was going to be bad seeing the Alpha and the Lycan. King striding towards us.

Brian ran towards them as I followed behind, at first the Alpha and the Lycan king didn't see Brian, but the clangs of his sword drew the attention of the Lycan king and the Alpha.

How on earth was I going to tell the king that he needed to move away from Brian, and he was a threat to the pack.

Just as I was about to say a word, the eyes of the Lycan king and I met as we both stood frozen.

On the other hand Brian ran towards the king to hold him.

“Wait” I muttered silently as I prayed that Brian stopped immediately.

Indeed the king was at risk.
