CHAPTER 16

"Can you please let me introduce myself first before you react that way?!" I exclaimed and as I look at him I saw how his eyes widen as if he did not expect me to actually raise my voice for a moment. Oh well, I cannot help it - he is getting annoying and also he really should stop overreacting when he still does not know me completely.





“Finally” I whispered as I heave a sigh then I once again looked at him "My name is Dawn Scarlett, I am the doctor hired by the Emperor himself to cure his legs and he also gave me permission to use this place," I said, basically, introducing myself and as if on cue, his eyes once again widen as if he cannot believe what he just heard and then the next thing he said instantly made me frown.



"The Dawn Scarlett?"



What the heck does he mean by "the Dawn Scarlett"? Is there something that I need to know like hell is this really the consequence of just focusing on curing people for the whole year and not minding anything else? The hell I am really completely left in the dark and I cannot let that continue - I badly need answers especially to everything that Fourteen had said a while back. I am not going to really know everything that I need to know by hook or by crook.



"What do you actually mean by 'the Dawn Scarlett'? Do you actually already know me before I came here?" I asked directly and he shook his head but at the same time, he also nods it three times which instantly made me frown. Like

why will I not frown in the first place? He just made me feel a lot more confused than usual! Can't he just give me a definite answer because the way he really said my name with the word 'the' makes me think that he already knows me, however, his gestures tell me otherwise so I really do not get it anymore



I am about to ask him another question when suddenly he move his hand and in just a blink of an eye, the door behind me instantly closed. I even created a loud noise because of the sudden force that closed it and at the same time the library that has dim lighting turned bright because there are candlelights that have been lit up for some unknown reason. Well, probably it is again because of magic that this mage cast because once again, I am starting to feel a little bit different and if I said a while ago that the vibe of this place made it obvious that magic does exist however, unlike a while ago with the emperor it did not make me feel uncomfortable but right now, I am slightly getting a little uncomfortable - it is as if the magic that exists in this place is exploring my body and the depths of it.



Actually, I do not feel like it is simply exploring, it actually seems like it's attaching itself to me which is really kind of weird.



"I did not expect that I will meet the person in the prophecy this early, I thought I would still wait until next year" he suddenly said which made the frown that I have on my forehead go deeper because I really do not get a thing that he is saying, he didn't even introduce himself so how can I actually understand a thing that he is actually saying. Like what the hell? Prophecy, what prophecy? Is such a thing even available in this world like what the hell? I thought that magic is the only thing that can make me shocked but I did not expect that there are is another thing that makes me doubt if this world is really real - like am I really living in this world because of magic and the thing about prophecy is fictional! Like I only knew such things from animated series, movies, or from the books that I've read.



"Wait a minute - you haven't really introduced yourself yet. Like can you please introduce yourself before you talk about such things?!" I said before he could even open his mouth again, I really cannot stand any more unusual things like what the heck - can they just slow down because I obviously cannot keep up! Well, I guess it is also my fault in the first place since I did not do my research earlier and right now I am suffering because of it since I am left in the shadows of what this world is and that my secret that I did not really come from this place, that I already died once and my soul was brought here by the gods of the world because they pitied me and that they wanted to give me another chance to live.



Oh well, I cannot do anything about it anymore - I cannot change the past so what I can do now is do my f-cking best to actually be able to keep up on everything that is going on around me and make sure that my identity will not be busted because if it does then for sure I am going to lose my head instantly for the crime of actually deceiving the Emperor and not only that but the citizens because of my fake identity - I will, of course, be perceived as a huge threat there is also a huge possibility that they will think that the medicine that I gave them are poisonous and they may, of course, stop using it.



And I do not want such a thing to happen - those medicines that I prescribed will ensure that they are going to live a healthy life after all these years and will also prevent their diseases from getting worse or from returning.



"Oh yeah, I'm sorry about that. I really thought that you were an unusual person because of your unusual aura - such pure aura and glowing one is not something normal people could possess. That bastard Aurelius would think so too if he knew that your aura is so pure and glowing with golden orbs, surely he will instantly proclaim you to be the Divine lady of the prophecy, which you really are but, of course, it is obvious that you do not want it to happen - again, just like what the oracle I received said" he lengthy said which really made me roll my eyes heavenwards, I really thought that he would introduce himself already but I guess I am wrong. Like, are all mages like him - very talkative in such a way, like does not know when to keep his mouth shut? Cannot he just answer the question directly?



"Anyways, I am the archmage of this country, my name is Raphael" he continued and finally he introduced himself already and he has this huge smile plastered on his face it is as if he did not try to get offensive a while ago thinking that I am some alien that came out of nowhere the moment he mentioned that my aura is 'unusual'. Like how the hell was he able to tell that my aura is unusual compared to other people? Is that even possible in the first place? "So, Miss Dawn Scarlett of the prophecy what can I the archmage could do for you?" he asked which made the frown on my forehead go even deeper. Why the hell did he have to add 'of the prophecy' on my name? He is making it sound like that I am a special person for some reason and that I have to accomplish something grand because I am the f-cking main character of this story-like world.



And also, I am still pretty much confused he keeps on saying that 'prophecy' word, and yet he is still not explaining what the heck is that prophecy is? Like he should really have explained what the hell is that all about - in short, he should enlighten me first before adding that to my name and the thing is I haven't accepted it anyways so meaning it is invalid! "Why do you look baffled for some reason?" he asked which made me once again roll my eyes. Seriously he does not know the reason why I have a baffling expression plastered on my face at the moment? Is he stupid or what? If my memory serves me right from the animated series, movies, and books I've seen and read the position of an archmage is quite high position to be exact.



Archmages are powerful (and usually quite old) spellcasters dedicated to the study of the arcane arts. Benevolent one's counsel kings and queens, while evil ones rule as tyrants and pursue lichdom. Those who are neither good nor evil sequester themselves in remote towers to practice their magic without interruption. An archmage typically has one or more apprentice mages, and an archmage's abode has numerous magical wards and guardians to discourage interlopers.



The thing is with this man right before my eyes who introduced himself as an archmage is obviously not old and I also do not know if he really is powerful because in the first place I do not know how to measure if a mage is powerful or weak but let's just say that he is because of the fact that he was able to close the door right behind me and he too was able to lighten the candlelights in the library in an instant - it is as if there is a single switch and that is none other than him. But who cares about that right now? What I care about is to get things cleared up because I am already confused a while ago because of the things that fourteen mentioned and this archmage right here made the curiosity increase big time.



I saw that he was about to open his mouth again when I raise my hand to stop him from doing so I instantly start speaking.



"Can you please stop saying other things and please explain first what is this prophecy all about, why am I part it in the first place, why do you address me as 'the Dawn Scarlett of the prophecy' and basically why are you acting like that? " I exclaimed and of course, I still tried to keep my composure and I even made sure that I will still sound normal. I waited for a few seconds for his reply to what I said and when he finally opened his mouth to react to what I just said - I was shocked, like totally shocked because of what I heard.



Honestly, I am about to faint because I never expect him to say such a thing and I really do not get it on why the hell did he actually know my secret in the first place? It is really impossible!



"Oh right, the oracle mentioned that you are definitely going to be oblivious of what is going on around you since you came from a different world so I am here to instruct you about everything that you need to know"
