"Anyways, Nine-tailed foxes are known for their cunningness, destructive power, and high intelligence and basically they are high maintenance and they chose their own masters. One cannot just easily summon a nine-tailed fox during the familiar signing ritual, but there are instances that they are summoned using black magic but in the end, the one who summoned it always ends up with a major injury, losing one of their senses, or worst dying. They are known to choose their masters based on their magical capability and of course if they are worthy enough to be served and obviously, you are really special because a nine-tailed fox chose you to become its master" Raphael said once again and that made me let out a sigh. Why? Because of the fact that I cannot say if such thing is a good thing or a bad one because this is really quite a heavy burden to carry and I do not know if I am going to live up to their expectations - can I actually be able to do so? Because seriously I am doubting myself so hard right now knowing the fact that I have a divine or high ranking being with me - I am just a person wanting to live a normal life after the trauma that I had experienced in my previous life from my family. All I ever wanted was really to relive my life without them but really never thought that the gods of this world will bring me to this kind of situation and it really sucks because they gave me a heavy burden without even consulting me first!



But heck, I also cannot help to think that maybe this is actually the consequence of wishing my life to restart - wishing that I will be able to relive my life again without those people who cause my traumas. But anyway, I cannot do something about it anymore and the only thing that I could do right now is to live my life accordingly and to make sure that no one will be able to find out that I am the chosen one - I am going to decide when and where my powers are to be revealed and I am going to use it whenever it is really needed to be used.



"It is written that foxes are creatures of the spiritual realm and that is why they are considered to be Divine beings however, there are instances that they live close to human beings, but again they are separated by nature. Nine-tailed foxes can also transform into humans but the thing is that their faces with pointy noses and narrow eyes still resemble the outer appearance of a fox. Even their eye color when they are as a fox will be retained when they disguised themselves as human beings. It is also said that while they are blending in with human beings they too are actually looking for someone worthy enough to lend their power to and so it is highly possible that you have met your familiar before. You may have been being able to converse with it or helped it in one way or another that is why it instantly chose you to be the master it would serve"



Raphael continued which made me instantly turn my head in his direction.



"What did you just say?" I asked again because I am thinking that I heard it all wrong but when he repeated what he just said I cannot help but look at Yuki once again with my right eyebrow rising, obviously I am waiting for a clarification of what Raphael had just said about nine-tailed foxes.

"Huh?" I heard Raphael say as if he was confused for a reason or rather he did not get what I just asked. And so I let out a sigh before repeating the question that I asked.



"I asked if you could actually repeat what you have said a while ago about nine-tailed foxes - that they could actually transform into human beings" I said as I even emphasized the part that he needs to repeat to me, yes it is a fact that I clearly heard what he just said but I actually need to still confirm it if it is actually correct - or if my understanding of what he just said is aligned to what he actually meant.



"Oh, that Nine-tailed foxes can actually transform into humans in order to blend in with human beings. It is also said that while they are blending in with human beings they too are actually looking for someone worthy enough to lend their power to and that being said it is highly possible that you have met your familiar before as a human being" he said and that made me heave a deep sigh and I actually keep my stare at Yuki. I am actually staring at him for one reason - and that is I am trying to remember if I have meant someone in my one year of stay here that has ocean blue eyes but the thing is I have encountered a lot of people who have the same eye color. But then again, since Yuki and I are able to communicate smoothly I guess it is also appropriate if I am going to ask him directly.



"Can you two give me and my familiar some time and stay quiet for a couple of minutes or until I say so that it is alright to speak?" I asked without even looking at them because again, my eyes are already fixated on Yuki - I want to maintain eye contact with him, I want to try and read what is exactly on his mind if I could do so.



"Alright go on," Raphael said and for some reason, I felt that something is surrounding me and it gave off the same vibes as a while ago when the Emperor, Aurelius Shen, and his brother Trajan are telling me all the things that I need to know on why the hell are they actually pushing for my marriage with the Emperor. Based on my guess, it is a barrier that prevents anyone from eavesdropping in the conversation. Oh well, I gotta thank Raphael for this one because now I am going to be able to talk to my familiar, Yuki out loud without actually being bothered that the two will be able to hear what I am actually about to say.



"Yuki, tell me the truth have we met before? Have you met me in your human form?" I directly asked and as if on cue, Yuki jumped down on the floor from shoulders and then he looked at me with those round ocean blue eyes of his - it is as if he is actually trying to look cute right in front of me. Oh well, he really is cute because of his small body his, white fur which greatly pairs with his ocean blue eyes. Although he is oozing with cuteness right now, I am not going to be swayed.



"Yuki, you better tell me the reason why you chose to become my familiar because I think you did not just simply appear right before my eyes because I am the chosen one of the gods - you have your own reason I assume," I said while my eyes are still fixated on him and as if on cue, his body glowed - not just an ordinary glow but it was really a blinding glow and for some reason, I cannot seem to see his body, however, I noticed that from a small glow it is slowly turning to a big one and I can't help but to drop my jaw when the glow around him started to turn into a human-like figure and in just a few more seconds, that glow disappeared and right in front of me appeared a man with ocean blue eyes and white hair.



His skin can also be compared to that of snow and honestly, I cannot help but to be mesmerized but other than that what I cannot fathom is that indeed, I have seen the man right in front of me somewhere and not just once - but I really did see him for quite a few times already.



"Nice to meet you again in my human form master. I am Yuki, your loyal familiar" he then said and as if on cue, nine tails appeared right behind him and he even bowed. And at that moment, I realized that I really know him - not just based on the familiarity I have with his looks but also his voice. I have known that voice for quite some time now and that voice always does visit me in my clinic twice a month in order to have his blood pressure checked and also for his regular check-up and if I remember correctly that person goes by the name.



"Kalyx?" I murmured and as if on cue, I saw how his lips curved up to form a sly smile as if being rewarded from getting the name he used in his human form correctly and not to mention the fact that I could still remember it clearly. And right now, I still cannot believe it.
