Dawn Scarlett



It's been a few hours already since I passed out - or more like since Fourteen made me pass out because he gave me the answer that I want instantly through a dream. And honestly, I am already quite satisfied with the answers that he gave me and I could no longer ask anything. The moment that I woke up, it is already morning but the sun is still not saying hi to the world. Yuki's worried face appeared right before my eyes the moment that I woke up and he instantly asked me if I am okay and of course, I said that I am indeed okay.



Nothing did happen and it did not endanger my life in the first place because it was just like I am dreaming - no I am actually dreaming in the first place. Other than reassurance I also praised Yuki for being protective over me and that he also made sure that no one is going to enter my room during the time that I am sleeping. How did I know that Yuki was protective and that is because Fourteen told me the moment that I woke up - and yes, he is also waiting for me to wake up. He told me how Yuki was about to burn him to ashes using his magical prowess.



Well, I also think that it is natural for familiars to act like that. When I have already finished digesting all the things that has been revealed in my dream I instantly got up from my bed, took a bath, and changed my clothes and I just basically waited for the servant to knock on my door and tell me that breakfast is already served. During breakfast, Aurelius Shen reminded me that I am going to take my lessons with Trajan today, for a whole day because we only have six days left before he will announce his engagement with me. Of course, I just nod my head since I have no right to decline the lessons because I also need them to survive in this world.



There are still a lot of things that I do not know in this world so it is really a good thing that I am able to learn it directly from people who have been living in this world and have also studied this world for quite some time already. Right after breakfast, I also fulfilled my duties as the emperor's doctor - I basically just checked his leg on how he is doing and after the check-up, I reminded him once again that he shouldn't strain his leg so much especially now that it is about to be healed. And of course, he just agreed to what I have said because he really cannot do anything about it anyways. I am the doctor and I know what is best for him.



And right now, I am here in the imperial library with Trajan and we are about to start my lessons. When we entered also the Imperial library, Raphael greeted us however I did not actually expect that he will act a little cold. He just said 'hi' then he left or rather he disappeared right before our eyes. It was surprising because I thought that he will greet me like how he did yesterday. I was actually curious but then again I heard his voice in my head and he actually informed me that he shouldn't be that friendly with me since I told Trajan and the emperor that he left me completely alone yesterday.



I was actually curious on how the hell did he found out that I said that when Aurelius Shen and Trajan are asking me how my day was yesterday and then I heard his voice inside my head once again and what he said is that;



"I overheard your conversation yesterday - or more if I really intend to hear what you are going to say since my actions and what will I say should match what you have said to them."



And I greatly appreciate him for what he actually did because now I am not going to overthink much on how will I able to talk to him and inform him of what happened last nigh - and so my disguise is going to no longer have that much of loopholes.



"So Dawn, what do you want to learn today? Raphael already informed us that you have read a lot of books regarding magic so I am not going to teach you about that" Trajan said with a smile plastered on his face. I could see it because he is just sitting right in front of me. Today is the day that Trajan will start lecturing me about the things that I should know about this empire that the Emperor, Aurelius Shen is ruling because obviously, this empire is going to be my empire for the reason that I am going to marry him.



And of course, to make sure that no one is going to be suspicious of my identity, Aurelius Shen already made the preparations that I am going to need ahead of time. To be honest, I still cannot get over the fact that he was able to make that much preparation in such a short period - he was able to talk to the other empire's ruler if he could back my identity up just in case someone is going to confirm my identity and that empire is known for its people having two names other than their surname, which perfectly contemplates my name which is "Dawn Scarlett". Aurelius Shen was also able to hire a couple that will serve as my family while I am helping him in achieving his goal of making sure to keep the aristocratic families in check, to be able to capture his enemies, and of course, that includes that people who want me dead as well.



Other than that, he was also able to purchase a title for me - a while ago, Trajan already mentioned that I am no longer simply a doctor who cures people but I am also a Lady of the house Machiavelli. Again, Aurelius Shen was bold enough to ask his friend a favor to put that surname in the registry of the city, again just in case someone will ask for a copy then we will have to worry about nothing. I guess connections are really important even in this world because seriously how the hell was he able to accomplish it when he does not have any connection at all - without connections all of these are surely impossible to happen. Anyways, I also cannot help but admire the fact that he was able to think about a nice surname that will make me sound like a real noble lady.



But everything is not just pure admiration, I actually cannot help but be nervous at the same time, nervous of the fact that there may be an instance that I may not be able to fulfill my role as a noble lady and that will ruin everything that he planned right from the start - but then, of course, I will do everything I can to be able to fulfill my part of the deal.



"Oh yeah, I guess I have to first orient you about the city that you are born, your background, and of course how to act as a noble lady," Trajan said, basically he answered his question and I cannot help but heave a sigh because of that. Even if he did not answer his question I am also going to say the same thing because really, that is the first thing that I need to learn and familiarize myself with. I need to make sure that I am equipped with the right amount of information regarding my background and other things that I need to know about my new identity - loopholes are out of the option because the moment that there will be loopholes, problems will surely start to arise one by one and it will surely be stressful not only for Aurelius Shen but also to me.



As much as possible I want everything to be smooth so that we can end this deal earlier than planned because I already want to live a simple life away from the imperial family - I am saying that right after my work here I am going to completely remove any ties that I have with them, I really do not want to do anything with them and also, I am just going to make sure that I'll do everything that I haven't done while I am the Empress of this empire because the moment that the calamity befalls to this world then that's the time that I am going to start my work again - not as an Empress but as the divine lady.



I already have no complaints regarding that title, in short, I have already accepted the fact that I am the chosen one of the fourteen gods and that this is indeed my destiny right from the start and there is no other person that could do it but me. And so, while I am being the Empress, I am also going to utilize whatever power is bestowed upon me to be able to have my privacy so that I will also be able to practice my magic powers and swordsmanship without anyone finding out.

After graduating your parents instantly gave you permission to move to the Xinan Empire for you to be able to practice what you have learned in the academy" He stated and I cannot help but actually be amazed because he hasn't been holding a paper or something where what he said or he will say later on is written. I did not actually think that his memory would be that sharp as well, I guess I have underestimated this man despite the fact that he came from the imperial family - that Aurelius Shen's blood also flows in his veins, and naturally he also has some of the traits that the emperor has.



"On your way here to Xinan a year ago, you encountered my brother - the emperor Aurelius Shen wounded in the forest and was being chased by assassins and since you are a doctor and he was badly wounded you cured him, disinfected his wounds, and made sure that it will no longer bleed. My brother then promised that he is going to find you, his benefactor and then six months later he did find you through me. As a person who is roaming around the empire always, I encountered a doctor who possesses superb skills so I gave you a place where you could call your clinic and stuffs like that. Basically, it is the same as the background of the deal we made with each other." he continued and I nod my head. Well, I guess they are really pretty talented in making up a story. In my own perspective, it is obvious that the story that he is telling me now which is going to be my personal background has no loopholes - anyone would actually instantly believe everything without a single doubt.



"So here is the fun part." Trajan suddenly said which made me frown a little bit. I did not expect that there is a fun element here in our disguise. "So, I found out that my brother is looking for a doctor that saved his life - I made him describe the doctor he is looking for and then I found out that it was you. And because I already have connections with you, I made a way for the two of you to meet" he continued and then I realized something from the way he says it and also the way he actually grins. I already know really where his story is going and I do not like whatever that is about to come out from his mouth, but what could I actually do? That is the only way as well to make the aristocratic society, other nobility and our enemies believe that what we have is indeed legitimate - no one can question my identity because of what Trajan and Aurelius had come up to cover up for my identity.
