"Yuki, you better tell me the reason why you chose to become my familiar because I think you did not just simply appear right before my eyes because I am the chosen one of the gods - you have your own reason I assume," I said while my eyes are still fixated on him and as if on cue, his body glowed - not just an ordinary glow but it was really a blinding glow and for some reason, I cannot seem to see his body, however, I noticed that from a small glow it is slowly turning to a big one and I can't help but to drop my jaw when the glow around him started to turn into a human-like figure and in just a few more seconds, that glow disappeared and right in front of me appeared a man with ocean blue eyes and white hair.



His skin can also be compared to that of snow and honestly, I cannot help but to be mesmerized but other than that what I cannot fathom is that indeed, I have seen the man right in front of me somewhere and not just once - but I really did see him for quite a few times already.



"Nice to meet you again in my human form master. I am Yuki, your loyal familiar" he then said and as if on cue, nine tails appeared right behind him and he even bowed. And at that moment, I realized that I really know him - not just based on the familiarity I have with his looks but also his voice. I have known that voice for quite some time now and that voice always does visit me in my clinic twice a month in order to have his blood pressure checked and also for his regular check-up and if I remember correctly that person goes by the name.



"Kalyx?" I murmured and as if on cue, I saw how his lips curved up to form a sly smile as if being rewarded from getting the name he used in his human form correctly and not to mention the fact that I could still remember it clearly. And right now, I still cannot believe it.

Kalyx, is the patient that I often visit once a month to have his monthly physical check-up. However, the thing is that the first time that I met him is not really at the clinic - the first time that I met him is when I actually went to the mountains to gather some herbs in order to make anesthesia pills for my patients who I am about to operate soon and other than that I also came searching for other medicinal plants in order to produce other pills that will aid people in this world in their health such as antibiotics, pain killers and vitamins.



And Kalyx, is a man I saved. Just like what happened to Aurelius Shen, I saw him wounded all over his body - like he was really badly wounded and me, being the good and responsible doctor who basically cannot turn a blind eye to anyone who is physically suffering because of wounds or illnesses immediately helped him. In short, I cured him - applied for first aid, and of course, I took care of him for a few days until he is already fine to go on his own. Of course, because of my fear that he is a terrorist or something that is why he is wounded I applied for treatment in a vacant cave and I just went back every day in order to check up on him.



On the eighth day of me taking care of him, when I arrived at the cave he is already nowhere to be found however I found a note saying that someone from his household already found him and because his family is already worried sick he just left a letter to say that he finally left and is now on good hands - he also mentioned that he will find me soon and that he will return the favor. And then after a month he really did come in my clinic and he introduced himself as a son of a nobleman and that there were a lot of people who wants him dead in order to take away from him the throne to the succession of their bloodline. He also explained that he already handled everything before actually visiting me since it would be not a good idea if I got caught in the crossfire of their familial



And so he paid me quite a huge sum of money that I used in order to buy my other necessities in the clinic and then he also said that he will be coming often for his monthly check-up and he basically made me his doctor because he believes that I am way more capable than any of the doctors he actually met in the town. Not to mention that he actually thought that my abilities are really unique that he never thought that his wounds will be able to close up that fast and not to mention he never felt that he was heavily wounded.



And right now, he is standing right in front of me and I saw with my own two eyes how he changed from being a tiny fox into a human being that I met and saved months ago!



"I am surprised that you still remember my name master," he said with a smile plastered on his face and I cannot help but roll my eyes because of what he said. Like how cannot I remember his name? He is the second person I saved from the verge of dying and the moment that I met him I really thought that it is really my destiny to encounter people who are on the verge of death and save them.



"So, indeed we have met before and you chose me to become your master because of what I did in order to save you?" I asked and I thought he was going to nod his head in agreement but instead of nodding his head, he shook it as if saying that I actually have the wrong idea.



"Well, what the archmage had said a while ago regarding my kin is correct, however, it is not for my case master" he stated and that made me frown because I am confused and the next thing he said made my jaw almost dropped on the ground. "You have already caught my attention while you are saving the emperor, Aurelius Shen. I was watching how you treated him, not to mention the fact that you are not fazed when he actually put the tip of his sword on your neck"



"Wait a minute so you already knew me for a year? So, if you already knew me for that long then why did you not appear to me in your fox form instead?" I asked because it is really possible - that he instantly revealed himself in front of me and basically did something in order to have my heart and accept him as my familiar because that was the easiest route - he couldn't have waited that long honestly.



"Oh well, I admit that I am really curious and amazed by your master, however, the thing is that I still need to make sure that you are really legitimate and so, I knew that something is different about you. You are warm, and for some reason, your smell is not foul just like any other human being - yours was attractive and sweet which is new to me. I told it to the head of our kin and he decided that I should first let you go through a simple test and that all of our kin will be watching - they are to make sure that you are really worthy of being my master and the trust of all the nine-tailed foxes. And because I have this strong feeling that you are going to surpass their expectations I instantly accepted whatever it is that they want me to do and in that eight days that you took care of me, my kin decided to accept you as the first-ever human being to be trusted by the nine-tailed foxes and not to mention that because of that trust - my kin swore to follow you and do everything in order to be of help to you. " he said with a smile plastered on his face and I honestly cannot help but to froze on where I am standing because I am literally astonished on what he actually revealed to me.



Everything that he said is really unexpected. Like how are those things even possible?



"What is more surprising is that you are actually the chosen one of the gods. How amazing is that actually? We did not expect you to be the chosen one because it's already been a few decades ever since the gods declared a chosen one in order to become the world's salvation against the calamity because the decades that there is no chosen one to protect the people - human beings, spirits, and the divine beings worked together in order to survive and so we really did not expect that the first-ever human being to be bestowed by the nine-tailed foxes blessing would be the chosen one. " he added and once again, I cannot help but quite surprised on what I just found out.
