The Arsenal
Evelyn squinted as she slowly opened her forest-green eyes. The pain of sleeping in an uncomfortable position last night made her whimper as she got up. The omega rubbed her eyes and let out a yawn before she looked around the room.
Reality crashed onto her like an avalanche when she realized that she wasn't in her previous room but the alpha's. Evelyn gulped and frantically looked around but there was no sign of the alpha. His scent was there but it wasn't as strong as it is when he's in the room.
Evelyn slowly walked to the bathroom, standing in front of it hesitantly for a minute before mustering up the courage to knock.
There was no answer.
The omega heaved a sigh before opening the door and going in.
She brushed her teeth and took a hot shower to ease the pain in her body because of her uncomfortable sleep last night. The omega opted for a simple sweater and jeans to wear before she went downstairs.
The girl paused and fiddled on her spot when she saw everyone sitting at the dining table.
"Oh Evelyn you're up, " Scarlett said as she saw the girl standing in the doorway. "I thought you were tired from last, that's why I didn't wake you up," Scarlett smiled with a playful glint in her voice.
Evelyn glanced at her mate sitting in one of the chairs, glaring at her. She looked away and focused her eyes back on Scarlett. "I-I'm okay," She gave a small smile to her mother-in-law.
"Luna, come here. I made something special for you!" Rain's happy voice echoed in the room as he skipped towards Evelyn. But unfortunately, the poor boy managed to bump into Calvin who glared at him.
"Watch it, omega!" He sneered at Rain who stumbled back, his head lowered in submission.
"S-sorry, I didn't see you—" The omega tried to mumble out an apology but he was cut off by a stern voice.
"Calvin, how many times do I have to tell you to not call him an omega?" Scarlett was angry. Her voice was a clear proof of that.
"But he's an omega, " Calvin shrugged.
"Yes, he is. But the way you say it makes it seem0 like a bad thing. You have to watch what you say about omegas, Calvin. Your Luna is one of them. You don't want to hurt her feelings, do you? " Scarlett quirked an eyebrow, making the beta frown.
"No….I don't…." He sighed. "I'm sorry, Scarlett," Calvin said.
"It's not me who you should apologize to but him." The former Luna pointed to the boy standing a little far away, fiddling with his fingers.
Rain looked up when he felt the awkward silence. His eyes widened as he waved his hands in a refusing manner. "You don't need to. I'm—I'm okay,"
Scarlett wasn't backing down. She stared at Calvin with a stern expression, making the young beta roll his eyes.
Everyone at the table watched the scene with an amused expression. Calvin's mother—Rose—was quietly snickering at her son's trouble.
Keiran rolled his eyes and continued eating breakfast like his father and the former Beta.
Calvin sighed and rubbed his temples. "I'm sorry, " he muttered out in Rain's direction before turning to sit down but Scarlett stopped him.
"Say his name, Calvin. That wasn't a proper apology. " She frowned, making the beta groan.
He stood up and turned to Rain, glaring at the poor omega. "I'm sorry, Rain." The beta said with a sinister smile which scared the omega.
Rain bowed and ran towards Evelyn, who was still standing in the doorway awkwardly. "L-Luna, come here. I'll show you something. " Rain stuttered out trying to change the atmosphere.
"I made you red velvet cinnamon rolls!" He exclaimed, his happy persona coming back as he grabbed the plate of cinnamon rolls. These kinds of food were new to Evelyn. It reminded her of roses.
"They look beautiful and delicious," She smiled at Rain who beamed.
"Try it! Try it! " The omega bounced on his spot in excitement.
Evelyn took a roll and bit into it. She almost moaned at the flavors exploding in her mouth. "This is so good! "
"Rain is the best cook we have in this house. He does wonders in the kitchen. " Richard, the former Beta, said as he took a cinnamon roll. Rain blushed from all the compliments.
"That's right. We don't know what he does but everything he makes tastes like heaven." Rose said as she served the rolls to everyone.
"I don't want it, " Calvin scoffed as she placed one on his plate. "I don't like sugary things." He glared at Rain who looked away. Evelyn frowned, confused why Calvin and her mate didn't like Rain. Rain is an innocent boy. There's no reason for anyone to hate him.
Keiran stood up and left the table shortly after followed by Calvin. They made an excuse about going to check the training of pack warriors. Keiran threw a glare at his mate before he disappeared out of the room.
Scarlett sighed, looking at her son leaving. She turned towards Evelyn and gave her a small smile. "How about I show you something interesting after breakfast?" She asked the omega in hope to cheer her up a bit.
Evelyn smiled, "Okay,"
"Can I come too!?" Rain chirped in, excited.
"Yes, you can come too." Scarlett pinched his cheeks. Evelyn just laughed at the beaming omega and ruffled the boy's soft blonde hair.

"I've never been to this side of the Packhouse. The guys in there always glare at me whenever I pass by." Rain complained as he, Scarlett, and Evelyn stood in front of a wooden building that is a few meters away from the Packhouse but connected with a pathway that is closed on either side with a wooden wall.
The only way to enter the building is through the Packhouse. The area around the building is heavily guarded with the Pack warriors roaming around day and night.
"What's in there?" Evelyn asked, confused why there are so many people protecting this building.
"You'll see soon," Scarlett smiled.
They all came to a halt in front of a huge door. There were two guys in front of it, frowning at the unusual visitors.
"Mrs. Winter's, Luna, why are you here?" One of the guys asked.
"I wanted to show Evelyn the arsenal," Scarlett said. "Please open the door, "
"I'm sorry, Mrs.Winter, but we can't do that. There's a strict order from the alpha that no one other than Pack warriors should enter the arsenal." The guy said, bowing his head in apology.
"Sebastian, I'm Keiran's mother and she is your Luna. I've been here before and this place is something Evelyn needs to see now or in the near future, so let us in." Scarlett frowned.
"Mrs. Winter, the Alpha will be—"
"The Alpha is my son and her mate. I'm pretty sure he'll understand why we are here. Now, let us in quickly, Sebastian. I don't want to get angry at you." Scarlett's voice was stern. It never failed to remind Evelyn that her mother-in-law was an alpha female.
Sebastian sighed. The other guy who stood before the door just nervously watched the interaction.
"Okay, You both can go in but that omega is not allowed. " He pointed to Rain who quickly shifted and took cover behind Evelyn.
"Why? " Evelyn frowned. She's not someone who talks back to people but it was irritating how everyone looked down on Rain for no reason.
"He's an omega, there is no need for him to be inside, Luna. " Sebastian shrugged.
"In case you forgot, I'm an omega too. Do you think I shouldn't go in too? " She quirked a brow at the warrior.
"That's not what I meant. You're the Luna of this Pack so you definitely can—"
"That doesn't change a thing. I became Luna but it didn't change who I am. I'm still an omega like him. If you look down on him that means you're looking down on me too." Evelyn didn't know where this courage came from but she had enough of people treating omega's shitty just because of who they are. It's something they can't control.
"Forgive me, Luna." Sebastian bowed his head. "I'm sorry if my words came off like that to you but I never meant to look down on you in any way." He apologized to which Evelyn just nodded in reply.
"So, can we all go in now?"
"Yes, Luna," Sebastian said and motioned to the guy next to him who quickly went and opened the door.
Scarlett smiled as she entered the building. "I'm so proud of you," She beamed while hugging Evelyn.
"That was so cool, Luna. I've never had the courage to say something like that to a pack warrior." Evelyn looked at Rain who was staring at her like she's a hero.
"I strongly believe you are the right Luna for this Pack." Scarlett had a proud smile. "You're gonna change this Pack. You're gonna change Keiran."
Evelyn looked down flustered from the compliments. "I didn't do anything. I—I just said what I thought was right." She mumbled which made the former Luna smile.
"What is this place? " Rain looked around in confusion.
"The arsenal," Scarlett breathed out. "It's where we keep the weapons."
Rain stared at Scarlett wide-eyed
while Evelyn looked around amused. "What are we doing here? " She asked her mother-in-law, who smirked.
"We're going to teach you about weapons,"
