Rain's Birthday
"Luna! You're back!" Rain ran towards Evelyn and hugged her tight as soon as he saw Keiran and her get out of the car. "You're late, " He pouted, making the omega chuckle.
"Sorry, Rain. We had some things to take care of, " Evelyn ruffled the boy's hair.
"I really missed you. I had no one to talk to. Josh was always training and Amelia had to treat people because a lot of pack members are getting sick now, " The boy rambled as he walked with Evelyn towards the packhouse. He paused when he noticed something.
"Luna, what happened to your hands? " Rain asked worriedly while taking Evelyn's bruised hands into his.
"Oh… That…I fell," The girl shrugged.
"What? Fell? But there are so many bruises… Do you want to go to Amelia? "
Evelyn couldn't help the small smile that formed on her lips. "No, I'm okay...It's a long story… I'll explain it to you later, okay? I'm really tired now," She gave the boy an apologetic look.
"Ok then, you go take a rest, " Rain smiled, his eyes disappearing as he did so. "Oh did you have lunch? If you haven't, I'll bring it—"
"Don't worry, Rain. We had lunch on our way home," The girl ruffled the boy's hair again. It was very soft as always.
"Then I'll meet you guys at dinner, bye!" He chirped before skipping away while happily humming a tune to himself.
Evelyn looked at the carefree omega with a faint smile. Tomorrow is his birthday. And the luna's only request to the goddess is to give Rain a mate who would shower him with all the love he couldn't get growing up.

"Oh my goddess, if I knew the Bluemoon pack was this dangerous, I wouldn't have let you two go there, " Scarlet rubbed her temples in disbelief.
"It's alright. At least something good came out of us going there, " Evelyn smiled at her mother-in-law.
"Yeah, at least the animals are free now because of her," Keiran nodded, making his mate blush.
"How did you tame the tiger, luna? That sounds so cool! " Rain asked as he looked at the omega with gleaming eyes. It looked like he was the biggest fanboy of Evelyn.
"I didn't tame him. I just bonded with him. He wanted someone to understand him more than dominate him, " Evelyn chuckled at the boy's expression.
"You did a good job saving the animals, Evelyn. The goddesses will bless you for this, " Keiran's father said.
Evelyn could only blush from all the compliments she was receiving. "Thank you, "
"Are your hands ok?" Rain tilted his head, examining Evelyn's bruised hands.
"You applied the ointment I gave you, right?"
Evelyn looked up at Amelia as she heard the doctor's question. "Yes, I did. Just a few minutes ago, " The omega nodded before she turned her attention back to Rain. "How's your birthday preparations going?"
Rain froze in shock at the sudden question before a blush crept into his pale face. "G-Good, I guess," He fiddled with his fingers shyly.
"Preparations? Who even is celebrating this guy's birthday?" Calvin scoffed, sipping on his wine glass as he leaned back on his chair.
Scarlett instantly turned to the beta and glared at him. "Shut up, Calvin. I told you not to bully him, "
"I wasn't bullying him, Scarlett. I was just asking, " Calvin shrugged nonchalantly. "I mean, why are you all so excited about his birthday? I just feel bad for whoever is going to be his mate,"
"That's enough, Calvin. Stop saying fucked up things, this is not the time, " Josh stood up, his jaw clenched as he frowned at Calvin.
Keiran raked a hand through his hair. "Guys, don't fight," He sighed, looking at the angry betas in front of him. "And Calvin, tone it down a bit. We're having a peaceful discussion here," He warned his best friend who only grunted in reply before looking away.
"Calvin, you can't say rude things like that to Rain. He's like my own son and he's important to me just as Keiran, and you. I don't understand why you hate him so much," Keiran's father frowned.
Calvin sighed and looked down. "I'm sorry. I was just irritated, I guess, " He shrugged off the topic, not wanting to make everyone turn against him.
Evelyn turned to Rain who was looking down the whole time everyone was talking about him. "Rain, are you okay? " She asked the boy who flinched in surprise.
"Huh?" He looked up wide-eyed. His eyes were tear-glazed. "Y-Yeah, I'm alright, " The omega blinked a few times before smiling wide. "Umm… I'll go to my room… I-I feel tired," He stuttered out before standing up.
"Rain, you're going?" Scarlett frowned when she saw the boy stand up.
"Umm… y-yeah… I'm s-sleepy," He rubbed the back of his ear nervously. "Goodnight everyone, " Rain gave them all a tiny wave before running out of the living room.
Evelyn turned to Keiran with a worried expression. "I'll be back in a few minutes, " She announced quickly before running after Rain. She didn't want the omega to have any bad thoughts in his mind.
"Rain!" Evelyn shouted as she caught the omega by his hand.
"L-Luna? What are you doing here?" He stared wide-eyed at the girl.
Evelyn smiled sympathetically at the boy. She wiped the tears streaming down his cheeks. "Hey… Calvin doesn't know anything about you. Don't take his words to your heart, "
Rain looked down as a sigh slipped past his lips. "It's just… I'm afraid… What if he's right? What if… "
"Hey, stop overthinking. That's not going to happen," Evelyn hugged the boy with a small smile. "Now stop crying and go take a rest. You have to look beautiful for your mate tomorrow," She ruffled his hair, earning a giggle out of the boy.
"Thank you, luna. You're the best! " Rain beamed. "See you tomorrow! " He waved goodbye before skipping towards his room happily.
Evelyn heaved a sigh with a small smile on her lips.
Rain has a soft heart…
She just hoped his mate wouldn't break it.
