Believe The Luna
Evelyn worriedly looked around the clinic. "How fast is the sickness getting worse? " She turned to Amelia.
"In hours," Amelia replied. "It's getting worse every hour,"
"Two people died? " The omega questioned to which Amelia nodded in reply.
"Do you know when they caught the disease? "
"They said that one of them caught it when he went to the forest three days ago and he passed it on to his wife who took care of him," Amelia explained.
Evelyn's eyes widened as she turned to the alpha. "We don't have much time," She breathed out.
Keiran frowned, he could see that the omega was starting to panic. "I'll tell the medical team to hurry up," He said before turning to walk away.
"No, you don't understand," The girl shook her head, stopping the alpha. "We have a maximum of two days in our hands to save the already affected people. I know about this disease. It spreads like wildfire and take lives faster than we think,"
"I think she's right," Amelia turned to the alpha.
Keiran raised a brow. "What else do you want me to do, Amelia? We need the medical team. There's no other way," He huffed out.
"I know how to make the medicine," The omega spoke, surprising everyone around her.
"What? Really? " The doctor turned to the girl. Evelyn nodded while she nervously glanced at Keiran.
"You believe her? " The alpha scoffed. "How would she know? She's been living in the forest for ten years,"
"No, you have to believe me, " Evelyn looked at the alpha. "I swear I'm not lying,"
Keiran stared at the girl skeptically. There was a desperate look in her eyes. He wanted to believe her but he wasn't ready to put his Pack members' lives in danger. This was no time to take risks.
"Keiran, I think we should believe her. I don't think she's lying, " Amelia said, causing the alpha's frown to deepen.
"Amelia, you're a doctor. You shouldn't jump to conclusions when people's lives are at risk, " Keiran was getting frustrated.
"It's my wolf. She's telling me to believe our luna," Amelia snapped back at the alpha.
Keiran clenched his jaw. He thought for a minute before turning to the omega. "Tell me how you know about the medicine, " Evelyn flinched back from the alpha's stern voice.
The girl nodded, shakily. "Two years ago around this time, I-I was looking for a place to stay in winter. That's when I came across a small forest tribe. I asked them for help but they tried to chase me away first because their people were su-suffering from this disease," She sighed. "I didn't back down because I had nowhere else to go and my health was getting worse. So I begged them to let me stay there till the winter was over," Evelyn explained.
"Their leader was an old lady. She told me that I can stay there because my knowledge about herbs impressed her and also because they were in need of more people to make medicines," Keiran's frown faded as he listened to the omega.
"They taught me how to make the medicine and how to take care of the sick people," Evelyn looked at the alpha. "Please believe me. I'm not lying, " She breathed out.
"Keiran, we have to act fast," Amelia urged. "We're losing time as we hesitate,"
The alpha sighed, looking down as he thought for a minute. "How many sick people are admitted?" He questioned.
"Less than twenty," The doctor replied.
"How much time do you need to prepare the medicine? " He turned to the omega who looked up at him with her eyes wide.
"E-Eight hours maximum, " Evelyn stuttered out. She was surprised that the alpha decided to trust her.
"That long?" Keiran raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, we have to go to the woods to collect herbs," Evelyn reasoned.
"Can you manage eight hours? "
Amelia nodded. "Of course, better than waiting for days," She smiled.
"How many people do you need to help you? " The alpha asked his mate.
"Six at least," Evelyn replied after she thought for a minute.
Keiran nodded before turning around. "Josh!" He called the warrior.
The young beta ran towards him as soon as he heard his name being called. "Yes, alpha,"
"You have to go to the forest with Evelyn. Do as she says. Take two jeeps and six warriors with you," Keiran ordered.
"Okay, we'll be in front of the Packhouse in five minutes," Josh nodded before running off.
"Go wait in front of the Packhouse," Keiran said to the omega. Evelyn nodded before hurriedly walking towards the Packhouse. "Wait," He stopped the girl. "Take a coat with you," He muttered.
Those simple words made the omega's heart swell.
Maybe…. Just maybe the alpha doesn't hate her like she thought he did.
"Call me if you need anything. I'll arrange more people to help you," Keiran told the doctor before walking away. Amelia smiled at the alpha.
The hot-headed alpha was turning soft.

"Stop here, " Evelyn ordered and soon the two jeeps came to a halt. The omega got out of the vehicle and looked around. She carefully scanned the area and smiled when she saw something.
Evelyn bent down and picked up some small plants with wide leaves. She then looked up at the trees before walking to a nearby rock.
The warrior silently watched her as she picked up another plant with its roots."Come here, " She called the guys, who immediately walked towards her.
"I want us to be divided into three groups," She spoke as the warriors listened intently. "Josh and I'll be one group," She turned to the beta who nodded.
"The rest of you are divided into two groups," Evelyn took the herb with a long root. "Group one needs to find this herb," She gave it to the warriors. "Don't break the roots. That's what we need the most. Collect them as much as possible,"
"Yes, luna," One of them said while the other two nodded.
"Oh and look around the place with rocks. That's where it grows the most," She said to them before turning to the other three warriors.
"You guys need to collect this," She showed the small plant. "But be careful because there's a similar plant. You see this?" She showed them another herb that looked the same as the one before.
"They're similar but one of them is poisonous. The only way to identify the poisonous ones is to look at the back of their leaves," Evelyn explained. "Poisonous plants don't have thorns on the back of their leaves like the herb we're looking for,"
"So pick up the herbs with thorns on their leaves," She said while the warriors nodded.
"Josh," The omega turned to the beta. "We need these fruits," She pointed upwards to a tree.
Josh nodded. "Of course, luna. I'll climb—"
"No," Evelyn cut off the warrior. "Get me the knives,"
