The Beta's Omega

"The marriage is fixed, " Calvin stormed into Keiran's study and slumped down on the couch with a groan.


"So early?" The alpha raised a brow.


"Apparently, that omega is getting sick or whatever and now I have to take responsibility for it, and also marry him without any objection, " Calvin scoffed before crossing his arms.

Keiran let out a sigh as he set his coffee mug down on the table. He slowly walked up to the annoyed beta and sat beside him.

"Calvin..., " Keiran looked at his best friend. "This is for the best. If something happens to Rain, then it'll affect you too. Just think about him once. He's injured so his body and mind won't be able to take your rejection. It's dangerous to keep both of you apart in a time like this, " He tried to comfort the beta.


Calvin raked a hand through his dirty blonde hair. A groan slipped past the beta's lips as he looked down. "I know… but I hate this, "


Keiran hummed. "I understand. I also felt this way when I got married but things have changed now. I hope the same happens for you both too, " The alpha smiled unknowingly as he thought about his mate. "When's the wedding? "
He looked up at Calvin who groaned again at the question.

"Tomorrow evening, " The beta gritted out.

To say Keiran wasn't surprised would be a lie. He was sure that the elders would fix their marriage but he didn't think it would be too soon.

"Any reason why it's so soon? " He asked while frowning.

"Tomorrow is a full moon and Rain's condition isn't good. He can't hold on till the next full moon and he also gets nightmares too often now and wakes up sometimes screaming… my name. His body is turning weak very fast. Amelia is afraid that if we don't do the bonding then he might fall into a coma, " Calvin tugged his hair in frustration.


"Ohh… " Keiran was speechless. "That's a serious issue then, " He nodded. "Have you bought the essentials for the ceremony tomorrow?" He questioned the beta who scoffed.


"I have an old tuxedo, that's enough, " Calvin shrugged.


"What? " Keiran frowned as he stood up. "Tomorrow is your wedding, idiot. It's a once in a life thing. You can't just shrug it off like that, " He looked at his best friend.

"It's something I don't want to do, Keiran. It's something I hate to do. I don't care about what I'm gonna wear, " Calvin snorted.


"Well, I care. I wanna make sure that in the future you won't look back and regret the decision you made today, so get up, " Keiran said, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Keiran—"


"Get up, Calvin. This is an order, "

Calvin stood awkwardly on the stage as he waited for his mate to come. He tugged on his new suit's collar in frustration. The beta wanted this all to just end quickly.

There weren't a lot of people at the wedding because Calvin had requested it to be like that.

He didn't want to drag this ceremony to hours.


After a few minutes of waiting, the omega finally came to the aisle, holding the former alpha's hand.

He was wearing a white lace shirt with white silk underlining. White suited the boy. Calvin thought before he shook his head to clear those thoughts away.

There was a flower crown on the boy's head that was made out of baby breath flowers.

Rain looked exhausted, scared, and nervous but his pink cheeks, and the shy look he had made him look adorable.

He stopped in front of the stage and the beta offered him a hand which the omega took shyly. Calvin just looked at him with a straight face.

The priest knew what kind of wedding this was as he had experience with Keiran and Evelyn's wedding so he jumped straight into the main rituals.

He started to say some prayers while the beta and the omega stood there patiently.

Calvin spoke up when the priest instructed them to say their vows.

"I, Calvin Dawson, the beta of the Shadow Pack, take you Rain Hale as my mate and pair. " He said nonchalantly.

The priest waited a moment for the other vows but sighed and looked at Rain when he realized the beta was not going to say anything more than that.

Rain gulped before nervously looking up at Calvin's face. "I, Rain Hale, accept you Calvin Dawson as my mate and pair. " He said softly.

The priest took out a tiny dagger from his book and started chanting some prayers before he gave it to the beta.

Calvin took it and pierced his right thumb before giving it to Rain who did the same.

The priest took their hands and Rain felt his heartbeat speed up as his hand was placed in Calvin's.

The beta pressed his pierced thumb on Rain's, causing the omega to shudder from the sudden electric wave that washed over him.

Rain felt his knees go weak and he involuntarily fell forward to Calvin's chest. The poor boy could feel his heartbeat all over his body. He felt intoxicated and warm inside like there was sunlight trapped inside him.

Calvin held the boy by his waist, helping him stand straight.

They both felt the connection. It was like they were connected with a string.

They were bonded for life.


Calvin took the ring from the priest's hand and quickly slipped it on Rain's finger. The omega did the same with his trembling hands.

The priest chanted some more prayers and took the newlywed's hand in his. " On this night of the full moon, the moon goddess being the witness, I now pronounce you Calvin Dawson and Rain Hale Dawson as mates and beta pairs of the Shadow Pack. " He said and everyone around them cheered happily.


The priest turned to Calvin. "You may kiss your mate now, " He said, making the beta bite inside his cheek.


Calvin pulled the omega closer to him and dipped his head down to meet the boy's lips. Rain let out a yelp when the beta's lips pressed against his.

It was a short and soft touch.


But he felt like melting from the feeling.


The beta looked into his eyes as they pulled away from each other.


"It's just for the show, " Calvin whispered, his voice cold and deep, making his mate let out a whimper.



Rain couldn't help but look down in submission.


He just wanted to be loved.
