Angry Evelyn

"He d-didn't do it intentionally… I slipped when he-he pushed me away… so don't fight p-please, " Rain whimpered out.


"He's your mate? " Evelyn asked in disbelief. She couldn't believe her ears.


Rain nodded before looking down again.


Evelyn couldn't help but clench her fists as he walked up to the beta. She stopped right in front of Calvin and delivered a hard slap on his face.

Calvin stood there frozen in his spot as he didn't know how to react to what happened.

Rain gasped. "Luna, what are you doing?! " He asked in panic. The poor boy's head was starting to hurt from all this.

The luna didn't budge. She looked like she was burning from anger.

"How can you do this to him?!" She seethed. "He was lying there for hours! Unconscious and bleeding! "


"I didn't know! I didn't know he fell, okay?! I walked away hurriedly so I didn't notice! "


"Stop with your excuses, Calvin! He was unconscious for three days, not even being able to talk and what did you do? Did you even ask anyone about him?! He's your mate for god sake! " Evelyn continued to shout at Calvin.


"I wasn't ready to see him… I'm still not ready… It's weird to think someone like...him is my mate, " Calvin tugged on his hair in frustration. "I just can't see him as my mate. He's acts so weak and it makes me angry—"

"What the heck are you talking about?! " Evelyn snapped angrily. "Weak? Him? " She pointed to the boy who was looking down at his feet. "You better be kidding me, " The girl scoffed. "because he's the strongest person I've met in this pack! Can any one of you imagine how tragic it is to lose your parents? How hard it is to grow up by yourself? " Evelyn wiped her tears as she asked.

"Can you imagine getting bullied and ignored all your life just because of something that you have no control over? Can any one of you bear with people looking down on you because of your status?!"

Calvin looked down, speechless as the luna continuously asked him questions.

"He went through all that! But did you ever see him complain about it? He's always smiling like it doesn't bother him… That's what a strong person is!" She shouted, moving closer to Calvin.


"So don't you dare to call him weak ever again, " Evelyn breathed out, her voice deathly cold and serious.



"What's going on here? "


Everyone turned around when they heard Keiran's voice. The alpha frowned when he saw his mate's tear-stained face.

"Evelyn, who hurt you? " Keiran asked. His voice was so cold and deep that it made everyone in there shiver in fear.


"I-I'm okay, " Evelyn replied as she felt her knees go weak from the angry alpha pheromones that suddenly hit her.

"Rain! " Josh screamed in surprise as he saw the boy fall to the floor suddenly.

"Oh god! " Evelyn gasped.

Rain was on the floor. Unconscious again.

Maybe all the fuss and the alpha pheromones must have affected him badly.


Josh took the boy into his lap which made Calvin let out a growl.

Everyone turned to the beta who looked at Josh with his eyes glowing golden.

Calvin's wolf was in full control.


And it doesn't seem to like that his mate was in someone else's hands.

"Get.your.hands.off.him." Calvin seethed, taking calculating steps towards Josh.

And Josh wasn't ready to back down.


"No, " Josh said and in an instant, his eyes turned stormy gray as he let his wolf take over too.

"He's mine! " Calvin's wolf growled.


"Guys, don't start a fight, " Keiran rubbed his face in frustration but the betas were ready to throw hands.

"Josh, calm down. You won't win against him. He's fighting for his mate, "
Keiran warned.

That was true.

When wolves fight for their mate they'll be very aggressive. They won't back down even if they're gonna die.

And in this case here, Calvin is stronger than Josh both in rank and physique. So the person who'll get hurt is obviously going to be Josh.

"I won't back down, alpha," Josh said as he glared at Calvin. "I will protect Rain with my life. I won't let this fucker hurt him again, " He gritted his teeth.


"Let go of him, " Calvin said again but Josh didn't budge. That was it. A loud growl erupted from the beta before he leaped towards Josh, making them both tumble to the floor.

Evelyn ran towards Rain and pulled him away from the savage betas.

"Both of you! Stop fighting RIGHT NOW! " Keiran's alpha voice boomed in the whole packhouse, making the betas freeze in fear.

The alpha stared at them with blood-red eyes, anger shining in them like flames of a wildfire.

Josh was already on his knees with his head bowed down while Calvin tried his best to resist it but he too gave up soon.


"Calvin, take your mate to the clinic and meet me in my study after, " Keiran ordered and the beta did as he was told.

He walked up to the unconscious omega and picked him up before walking downstairs.


"Josh… I know you care about Rain but fighting with his mate is not a good idea. You would have been in grave danger. " Keiran breathed out while frowning.

Josh sighed. "Calvin doesn't deserve him… Rain is such an angel, "

"I know but this is what the moon goddess decided. They're fated pairs. They must be together or it will affect both of them badly and Rain will be the one who suffers the most, " Keiran patted Josh's back before he walked towards Evelyn.


"Are you okay? " He asked the omega who nodded.

Strangely, Evelyn wasn't affected by the alpha voice like she was with the pheromones.

She walked over to the beta on the floor and smiled reassuringly at him. "Everything's going to be okay, " The omega said to Josh before following her mate downstairs.
