That Was Sweet

"Mhm…" Evelyn whined when the alpha deepened the kiss. His hand gripped the back of her neck, pulling her closer to him.

Keiran panted when he finally pulled away from his mate. He looked down at the omega's swollen lips.

They were so sweet.

Evelyn's eyes were still half-closed as she took deep breaths. Her hands gripped the alpha's shirt tightly, refusing to let go.

A frown formed on Keiran's lips while he stared at his mate.

He kissed her.


What was happening to him?


There were a million questions on his mind that he couldn't answer. The omega is making him act as he has never done before.

The alpha snapped out of his thoughts when the door suddenly opened. He looked over to see Amelia followed by two nurses.

The doctor stopped when he saw the omega snuggled up in Keiran's hands. It was the first time she saw the alpha like this.

Keiran wasn't someone who displayed affections publicly. He rarely showed any emotions other than irritation and anger.

He was a hotheaded alpha.

But right now, the hunk of a man was sitting there wrapping a protective arm around his small mate to keep her warm. It almost looked comical because of how fragile Evelyn looked and how scary her mate was.

Amelia smiled, walking towards the couple. "Lay her down on the bed," She said and the alpha obeyed without saying anything.

"Uhh….. When will she wake up? " Keiran scratched his neck.


"Maybe in a few hours," The doctor looked at the omega. "Give her something to eat and drink when she wakes up and let her rest some more after that,"

Keiran nodded before looking at the omega. "I have to go now… I'll come back after some time," The alpha said to the doctor.

Amelia smiled. "We'll take care of her,"


Keiran gave her subtle nod and glanced at the omega one last time before he walked out of the room.

"A-Amelia… ?" Evelyn croaked out, squinting her eyes as she tried to see who was next to her. The girl just woke up but she felt so drained like she didn't even get a wink of sleep.

"Oh, Evelyn. You're up already? " Amelia said in surprise as she came towards the girl.

Evelyn tried to sit but the doctor pushed her down to the previous position. "Lay down. You'll feel dizzy if you sit up," She warned the omega.

"W-Water," The girl's voice was scratchy because of her dry throat.

Amelia gave her a glass and watched as the girl downed it in one go. Evelyn sighed, giving the glass back to the doctor.

"W-What happened to m-me? "

"You fainted because you didn't eat anything today, " Amelia's reply made the omega frown.

"What?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowed. "Fainted because of not eating… .? That's weird…." She said, confused.

"Weird? No, Evelyn, it's okay. It happens to a lot of people. I think your body couldn't take the lack of energy and mental pressure—"

"No, that's not it," Evelyn interrupted the doctor. "I've done this before when I was in the woods and I had nothing to eat…. But I didn't faint then…" Evelyn trailed off.

Amelia frowned as she heard the words. She took her stethoscope and checked the omega again.

The doctor sat down on the bed and checked Evelyn's eyes. "Evelyn, do you feel tired easily nowadays? Or do you randomly get headaches?"

Evelyn thought for a minute. "Yeah…. I do have these problems but I thought it was because of my training…." She looked at the doctor. "Is there anything wrong? "

"Nothing's wrong but can you show me your neck? " Amelia asked, surprising the omega. Evelyn froze for a minute. "Huh? O-Okay, " She stuttered out before slowly tugging her shirt down.

Amelia looked at the girl's neck and frowned. "Keiran didn't mark you? "

Evelyn's eyes widened as she heard the words. She blushed crimson red while adjusting her collar back into its place. "Uhh… N-Not yet… " She whispered out.

Amelia was silent for a minute before she sat down on the bed with a sigh. "I think I found the problem then," She breathed out.

Evelyn stared at her expectantly. "What is it? "

"Remember when I told you that your body will force you and your mate together if you don't complete the mating?" Amelia raised a brow at the omega who flushed red again.

Evelyn looked down as she felt her cheeks heat up. "Y-Yeah... "

"Well, this is a part of it," Amelia said, casting her eyes down at the floor. Evelyn watched her quizzically while the doctor paused for a minute. "Physical problems like small headaches and light dizziness are normal when you delay the mating…"

She turned to the omega who was nervously biting her lips. "Don't worry, it won't happen every day. I think you fainted today because you were exhausted and stressed out," Amelia smiled, patting the girl's head.

"I-I can continue my training, right?" Evelyn looked at the doctor, worry filling up her bright green eyes.

Amelia nodded. "Of course, just take care of your health and don't skip your meals," She smiled.

The omega heaved a sigh of relief when she heard the words. "I'll take care of myself," She smiled back at the doctor.


'Knock'

Both of them whipped their heads towards the door when they heard a knock.

"I'll check who it is," Amelia said, getting up from the bed.

She strode towards the door and opened it to see Keiran standing there.

"How is she? " The alpha asked as soon as he saw the doctor.

Amelia smiled. "Ask her yourself," She opened the door wide for the alpha to see a blushing omega on the bed. "I'll be outside, " Amelia winked at Evelyn before she stepped out.

Keiran's expression turned stoic as the doctor went out of the room.

The alpha stood beside the bed with his hands in his pockets while he looked at the omega. He stared at her for a minute before speaking up. "How are you feeling? " His voice had no emotion but it still didn't fail to make the omega blush.

"I-I'm okay now," Evelyn stuttered out.

"Did you faint because of skipping your meals? " The alpha raised a brow.

Evelyn looked down as she remembered what Amelia told her about the mating.

She didn't want Keiran to know that.

"Y-Yeah," The girl stuttered out.

Keiran sighed, looking down for a minute. "Don't do it again," He muttered before turning around to leave.

Evelyn stared at her mate dumbfounded. "Huh? " She uttered, confused.

Keiran paused and turned to his mate with an annoyed expression. "I said don't skip your meals again," He said before walking away.


Evelyn stared wide at the door as the alpha left the room. A small smile tugged on her lips while she replayed her mate's words in her mind.


That was sweet.
