Chapter 66 Bronson

“I did nothing of the sort.” I point my finger out at her as the other hand slams down the bottle of bourbon. Clara has now come around towards the kitchen and stands directly in front of the bar where all of my past haunts me. It’s ironic really, watching as her anger courses through her as she stands in front of the items, she has sent to torture me.
“You did Bronson. You know your choices cost father and mother everything they were working hard for. Raul called and you came running to him. We warned you, everyone warned you that he only wished for someone to carry on his legacy, but you didn’t listen, and now look. Look at what you have to offer. Your soul is gone, even I can see that.”
“Enough.” I shout. I am done with this conversation. Done with my sister accusing me of things that are simply untrue. She says she came here to speak with me, to explain why my family no longer hates me, hates who I’ve become, she’s doing a terrible job of it. “I need you to leave.”
“Is that what you truly want?” I hesitate at first but nod my head as she lowers hers. When she lifts it back up, she wipes the stray tears from her eyes, then turns and walks out of the penthouse grabbing her bag on the way out.
Walking back into the kitchen, I grab hold of the bottle of bourbon but don’t take a swing. Too many emotions, thoughts, running through my mind at a constant speed. I stare blankly ahead of the walls, wishing in some way, that I could go back in time and fix everything.
“Are you okay?” I turn and spot Nikki coming down the stairs. Her long blonde hair is curled at the tips as if she just had a shower, and her skin is smooth and creamy blocked by a pair of sleep shorts and a black camisole.
“I’m sorry she used you.” I make my way over to the start of the staircase, catching Nikki’s hand as she descends and help her walk back over towards the study’s couch. Nikki enjoys being in this room, that much I can tell, and right now, I’d do anything to make her happy.
“I don’t think she used me.”
“She practically followed you here. She had no right taking advantage of you that way.” Nikki lifts her legs and tucks them under her, then faces me.
“Will you tell me about her?”
“What do you want to know?” I ask loving the way her skin looks beside me. I’ve been drinking, and with the warm alcohol swirling around inside of me, I find myself moving closer and closer towards her.
“Why are the two of you estranged?” This time I look forward, not exactly ready to give anyone the details of my past. “You don’t have to tell me.”
“No, I want to, I just don’t know where to start. I’ve never told anyone about my life. Especially about my past.”
“Not even Cassandra?” She asks in that sarcastic tone that I love.
“She doesn’t exactly talk to me about anything outside of modeling, fashion and today’s gossip. I don’t even think she knows I have a family.”
“So, tell me.” I turn back towards her and watch as he cheeks warm. “Tell me about the real you.”
