Chapter 71 Nikki
My anger rises once again around this woman, but I shake my head freeing myself from it when I notice Nadia stalking over and placing down my plate and Cassandra’s tea. Of course, the model does not eat breakfast.
“Thank you, Nadia.”
“My pleasure Miss Myers.”
“Nadia, I’ve told you, please call me Nikki.” I smile and knowing Cassandra is narrowing her eyes in the corner of my own is making my smile even brighter. Nadia plays along and smiles back.
“Of course, Nikki. By the way, I took your advice and used hat special seasoning in last night’s dinner.”
“I thought it tasted a little different. It was amazing.”
“Well I thank you for that advice.” She states as she begins wiping down the counters from the breakfast. Cassandra stands and walks over towards the kitchen leaning her hips on the counter beside the stove. I don’t move, already knowing she is up to something that she can just claim as an accident later. She seems to be running this house since Bronson is constantly evading it.
“It’s nice you two get along so well Nadia.” Her smile doesn’t quite reach her cheeks as her hand flies out and moves across the counter dropping every bit of food and dishware along. Glass shatters, as well as food onto the tile. I stand from the barstool as Nadia stands back looking down at the mess she will most likely have to clean up. Her face doesn’t look shocked or angry, as if this is not the first time Cassandra has done something like this, making me even more angry.
“What hell is wrong with you?” I shout but Cassandra merely turns towards me and smirks.
“What? It was an accident.” She shrugs then turns back towards Nadia with a look of pride. “I suggest you clean all of that up Nadia. I would hate to tell Bronson how worthless of a chef and maid you are and have you out on the streets.”
That is it, I cannot take this woman any longer. I will not let someone else be hurt or bullied because of me. I walk around the bar and get into Cassandra’s face, giving her all of the anger she has unleashed since she found me in her home.
“You’re pathetic.” I start and watch as her grin turn into a frown. “You walk around here like a princess, yet on the inside you’re nothing but a foul disgusting piece of a human being. Treating others poorly doesn’t make you feel better, if anything, it makes you feel more and more lonely.”
“I couldn’t possibly be lonely Miss Myers.” She says as she crosses her arms. I can spot Nadia behind her, cleaning up the mess she has created. “I have a fiancé, an empire, and as soon as Bronson and I are married, I’ll have millions. You are nothing but a dirty, filthy wad of gum at the bottom of our shoes.”
“And if I’m so below you, then why does your fiancé prefer my company instead of yours?”
That’s all it takes for the dam to break. Before I can blink, Cassandra has my hair in a tight grip, holding on for dear life. I lean up, cringing at the pain of my hair being pulled but this is clearly her first fight, not mine. I slam my fist into her face, feeling immediate victory when she flies backwards and crashes into the counters. I almost laugh at the irony of your typical cat fight, but when I jump on top of her, scratching and punching, getting a few blows to the face myself, I couldn’t care less.
Seconds later, I’m being pulled off her, still screeching and fighting with all my might. I hear a grunt from behind me and notice Rand is the one holding me back while Nadia helps Cassandra up. A feeling of pride consumes me while she cries, throwing Nadia off her and runs upstairs. Rand lets me go, but I don’t miss the disappointed looks of both he and Nadia.
I look down, ashamed I let this girl get to me, and walk away, heading right out of the penthouse.
