Chapter 39 Silence Him Forever

Lucas's Perspective:

"Dude, it's Dad! He's here to save us!" Alex was practically bouncing off the walls.

But I couldn't share his excitement. Yeah, he's here to save us, but if Alex's dad finds out I've been faking being his kid, I'm toast. Mom and Saki could get caught up in this mess too.

Nope. Gotta think fast.

Then I spotted some mud on the ground. Without a second thought, I grabbed a handful and smeared it all over my face until I was unrecognizable.

"What the heck are you doing?" Alex looked at me like I was nuts.

"Don't worry about it, kid. Just play dead!" I shot him a look.

"But you're a kid too," Alex whined, then shut his eyes but peeked them open again.

"Dad's here, and I wanna cry out for him to save me. I can't keep this up!" Alex's eyes and nose were all red, about to burst into tears.

I was at a loss. Realizing how serious things were, I pointed to the door. "Your dad's here."

"Dad!" Alex spun around, but before he could shout, I knocked him out cold.

"Sorry, Alex." I lay down and peeked through my barely open eyes.

I saw the thug Oliver pacing with a gun not far from us. The next second, the rusty iron door got kicked open, and Silas stormed in with a pack of werewolves.

Then Oliver stumbled towards me. I quickly shut my eyes and played dead.

Oliver's Perspective:

I heard the Werewolf King Silas outside and nearly crapped my pants, ready to beg for my life.

But then I thought, if I'm gonna die anyway, might as well go down swinging.

I forced myself to keep it together. As Silas busted in, I practically crawled to the two kids, shaking, and pointed my gun at them!

"Don't move! Or I'll waste 'em!" I yelled at Silas, trying to mask my sheer terror.

It worked. With the kids as hostages, they didn't dare make a move. Everyone looked at Silas, waiting for his call.

Silas narrowed his eyes. Even without much expression, his natural kingly vibe made the air around us thick with fear.

My back was drenched in cold sweat, and my legs were about to give out.

Silas stared at me with eyes like daggers, cutting right through me.

"What do you want?" His voice was deep and commanding. As soon as he spoke, it felt like a claw was squeezing my throat, making it hard to breathe!

Just as I was about to cave, I saw Cecilia standing next to Silas. She tilted her head, reminding me of the plan and conditions she had laid out.

Thinking of the sweet deal, I wiped the sweat off my face, trying not to pass out. I pointed the gun at Alex and forced myself to speak calmly, "I want a hundred million bucks and a car!

"I know only this kid is your son. I can let him go if you send a hostage to swap. Once I'm safe, I'll release the hostage and the other kid. Deal?"

This was the only way Cecilia thought I could make it out alive. She figured Alex was the only one Silas really cared about.

He might care about other kids, but if push came to shove, he'd definitely pick Alex!

Kidnapping the Wolf King's son left us with no way out. This might be our only shot at escaping!

"You think you can negotiate with me?" Silas sneered, stepping forward.

Just one step made me lose my nerve. As I was about to drop my gun and give up, Cecilia suddenly grabbed Silas and whispered, "Silas, don't do anything crazy. Alex is still in his hands. We can't risk it! Let's do what he says. I'll be the hostage!"

Silas looked at Cecilia in surprise, not expecting her to step up like that.

"I know I was tough on Alex before, but I love him! Right now, saving those kids is all that matters! I trust you! You won't let anything happen to me!" Cecilia clutched Silas's hand, her eyes brimming with love and trust.

Silas stayed silent, lost in thought.

Just when I thought the plan was going to tank, he agreed.

He moved fast, pulling together a hundred million bucks and a car in under an hour.

Cecilia's Perspective:

Everything went just as I planned. Silas agreed.

When the money and car were ready, I shot Silas a reassuring smile and walked towards Oliver.

After this, Silas would definitely see me in a new light. He might even let me stay as his fiancée.

I couldn't wait.

When I reached Oliver, he got the hint and tossed Alex over.

Silas caught the unconscious Alex with ease, his face showing a worry and fear I'd never seen before.

"Alex, I'm sorry! Dad's late!" Silas held Alex tightly, feeling his warmth.

"Don't be scared, little one." I forced myself to hold the brat, not caring if he could hear me, and softly comforted, "I'm here. I'll protect you!"

This damn werewolf cub was covered in stinky mud, ruining my new clothes. I was so pissed. If it weren't for putting on a show for Silas, I'd have tossed him out to his death!

Lucas's Perspective:

Her act made me wanna puke. I knew exactly what kind of snake Cecilia was. So fake!

"Move! Behave, or I'll waste you!" Oliver yanked me from her, slinging me over his shoulder, and pointed the gun at Cecilia's head as we walked out.

Silas's Perspective:

With the hostages in his hands, I couldn't make a move. Besides, I had promised that woman to bring her son back safely. I couldn't break my word!

So I had to watch as Oliver took them outside. He threw Lucas into the trunk, then shoved Cecilia into the back seat, and sped off.

"Follow them!" I ordered, jumping into the car with my men.

I had already had Harris plant a tracker on that car. No matter where that scumbag ran, I'd catch him and snap his neck!

Cecilia's Perspective:

The car sped for over an hour. After making sure Silas wasn't tailing us, I finally relaxed and pulled out a handkerchief to wipe the mud off my hands.

"Cecilia, you're a genius. If it weren't for your quick thinking, I'd be toast by now." Oliver, thinking we were in the clear, relaxed and got all excited.

"Idiot, you have the nerve to to say that?!" I glared at him, my teeth grinding in anger. "If you hadn't grabbed Silas's son, would I have to do this?"

"Yeah, my bad." Oliver grinned sheepishly, nodding like a bobblehead. "Luckily, you helped me. Otherwise, I'd be in deep trouble. A hundred million bucks! I've never seen so much money in my life.

"Cecilia, we agreed that the hundred million is mine!"

"Of course, it's yours!" I looked at the clueless, soon-to-be-dead Oliver, smiling coldly. I pulled out a gun and pointed it at the back of his head. "After all, who would fight over money with a dead man?"

Only he knew the truth. I couldn't trust a thug's promise that he'd disappear after getting the money. Only dead men kept secrets!

Once he was dead, no one would know I was the mastermind!

Silas would see me differently and let me be his fiancée again!

"Cecilia! You—" Before Oliver could finish, I pulled the trigger without hesitation.

With a bang, the smell of gunpowder and splattered blood filled the air.
