Damini's POV



We all were really busy with all the works we divided amongst us. We assigned the work to our PA or Secretaries.

I noticed that Sagar's secretary was up to something. She was wearing very short dresses and was trying to get very close to him. Stupid girl !! She was here to work... Not to flirt with her boss. I think we should replace her.

Sagar never paid any heed to her. While on other hand Sahil was flirting with almost every girl in the office leaving me of course.

I had to ask something from them, so I decided to ask Sahil as he was normal with me and I was avoiding Sagar, but Sahil was not there. I had to ask Sagar, so I went to meet him. I knocked at the door and entered the room. That secretary was serving coffee to him standing very close to him.

Can't she stand at a normal distance??

He smiled at me and asked me to sit. " Will you have the coffee? "

" No, I just had it... " I said and he nodded and asked her to go out. She gave him a big smile and left.

" You have been avoiding me for quite some time now. So what brings you here?? " he asked me.

" Sagar, can you please stop being sarcastic? "

" Ok fine... Tell me. "

I showed him a design and asked if it was looking good as I had to finish it and Samar and Sahil were not there.

He gave me a very good suggestion. I nodded and thanked him.

" Why are you avoiding me, Damini? " He asked me very seriously.

" I am not..." I said but we both knew I was lying.

" Ok. Just let me know if you need my help. " He said and dismissed me by looking at his phone. It was rude, I felt bad.

Next day again I got up early and decided to leave earlier. I got ready, called the driver and came out.

I wanted to avoid him, but he was already sitting in the dining area.

" Good morning. ". He said to me with a smile. I tried to smile but my heartbeat increased.

" Hi," I said

" Leaving early ??? "

" Yes. "

" I am also ready. Let's have breakfast. Then we can go." He said with a smile.

" I am not hungry, you can have breakfast and then come later on. " I was not sure if we should be together alone, after the kisses we exchanged.

" Fine! Let's leave... " He got up abruptly from the table.

" But you were about to have your breakfast. Have it " I was feeling guilty that he got up.

" Let it be, I am not hungry now," he said.

" But why?? "

" Let it be, I don't want. "

" But, it is unhealthy... "

" And is it healthy for you?? Anyway, I won't die by not having food. " He said in an irritated tone.

Why did he say that??

" Fine !! Let's have food..." I said slowly.

" Don't bother on my account." He was not looking at me and was going out.

" What is wrong with you? " I called after him. He turned all of a sudden and came towards me.

" What is wrong with me?? What is wrong with you? I am giving you space. You know my feelings for you and still, You have been avoiding me like hell, while you are normal with everyone else. I tried to take it normally. " He looked like a wounded lion. Why was he behaving like as If I matter a lot to him? He couldn't be such a good actor.

" I am not avoiding you. " I said looking at him. But he gave a fake laugh.

" Great !! Keep saying that. While you know very well that you are lying. "

He said and went outside.

" Sagar... " I called after him but he did not wait.

I told the cook to pack his breakfast. He got me a packed breakfast for him and said that he packed for me as well.

I reached the office and he was in his cabin. I knocked and went inside.

" Yes..?? "

" I got your breakfast packed for you. " I offered his packed lunch to him.

" Thanks, but I am not hungry. You should not have bothered." He said and started looking at his laptop.

I was feeling very bad, but I didn't know how to make him eat. I called the peon and told him to get the plates.

He got two plates... I served the food on plates and gave one to him.

He took it and ate the food quietly. He kept looking at me.

" Can I, ask you something?? " he said all of a sudden.

" Yes."

" Why do you avoid me? "

" I don't. "

" Don't lie, Damini. "

" You know, why... "

" No, I don't, I tried to ask this question from myself. But I never got an answer. Tell me what have I done wrong?? I don't think you would avoid me just because I was and still am crazy about you. " He was looking intensely at me.

Just then there was a knock on the door. We turned to see Samar standing there, he came inside and smiled.

" Hey, good morning. Wow!! Today Sagar has also come before time. Good to see you, I thought, I would ask Damini if she wanted some breakfast. I just ordered... "

" No Samar, I already have ... But you can join and share breakfast with us."

He gladly did that. I was thankful that he came when he did. I was saved from answering Sagar's question.

After the breakfast, Samar asked me If I could help him in selecting sweets and menu for Bhoomi poojan. I was happy to do that.

He brought the brochure given by the caterers. It had all the food options. Sahil had also come by then.

" How did you come to the office? Sahil asked Sagar.

" By car..." Sagar said.

" But why??? Why didn't you wait for me? " Sahil asked in an angry tone.

" I had some work. " Sagar said not looking at him. Sahil was not convinced, but he didn't argue.

Samar asked Sahil to suggest the menu, he also gave his views. I suggested a few things and sweets. We were not getting settled on sweets.

But Sagar did not say anything.

" Ok, I will ask the caterers to send us the samples of sweets. Then we can select them. But we are keeping what I suggested, trust me everyone would love it. " Samar said and laughed. I laughed as well at his childish behaviour.

" I need to make some more arrangements for the pooja so I need to go. Would any of you like to come? " Samar asked looking at us.

" I will come with you. " Sahil said and went off leaving me alone with Sagar again.

Oh, God!!

" So??? " Sagar said all of a sudden.

" Excuse me? "

" I am still waiting... "

" For what?? "

" For you... to tell me why you avoid me. "

" I don't know. Maybe, I am not comfortable. "

" But why, what have I done.. "

" Sagar please stop this topic right here. You are making it much more difficult for me to work with you. "

" I am just asking you. "

" No, you are pressurising me to be friendly with you. I don't want to be friendly with you. Don't make me stop talking to you altogether. Then you would say that I am avoiding you. "

" But you are, you behave as if you don't know me. You were working comfortably with Samar. Do you like him? " He asked looking at me intense eyes.

" Oh please, it is not like that..."

" Then what is it??? Have you developed some feelings for him?? "

" What is your problem Sagar?"

" Answer me !! " He came a bit closer to me.

" What if I do??? " I asked glaring at him.

I literally saw the colour of his face changing. It looked as if he was hurt. He just got up and left the room banging the door.

What is his problem? Was he trying to imply, that it mattered so much to him, if I liked someone or not? Well, he has always been an extremely good actor. He was trying to convince me that he was affected by my sudden disappearance.

He didn't have to, I am not that naive now. I would never fall for his charm now.
