Chapter 75

Sagar's POV



The work in the office was going fast now as the construction was going on in full swing. Mom was dragging us on shopping almost every day... mostly Swati, Manyata or Samar accompanied her, as both Sahil and I hated it.

While Damini was going to market every day with her mom. Are women obsessed with shopping??

Dad came directly to Chandigarh. He was very excited about the wedding. I had a detailed talk with him. I told him everything about Manyata and the whole situation. He got very angry with Sahil but I assured him that everything will be all right. I made him promise me that he will not be angry with Sahil. He agreed with me.

I had invited all my friends. They all were very excited and they said that they will be there. Only Gautam and Maurvi were on their honeymoon so they would not be able to come but they would be here before the wedding, so I was happy about it.

The time was flying due to so much work. It was the day of my engagement. All my friends, Rahul- Priya, Mehul- Megha and Vikram- Sandhya had come to Chandigarh one day earlier.

They all were happy to see Sahil after so long. Though they were not best friends still they all were friends. We all were enjoying a lot they kept pulling my legs.

Sahil told them how crazy and possessive I was for Damini and how we switched our places many times. He even told them that Damini poured cold water on him and threw things at him. They all were laughing like idiots.

Just then Swati and Manyata came to call us all for the dinner. Swati told Sahil that he was needed downstairs. So Sahil went off.

" Hey.. she is Swati.. right ?? " Rahul said. Swati smiled and said, " Yes Rahul Bhai.. "

" She has grown up... " Rahul said and we all smiled.

" Manu??? " Vikram said all of a sudden and she looked towards him.

" Vikram Bhai sa?? " She said and gave a bright smile.

" What are you doing here?? " he asked and step forward and hugged her. She looked at me as if asking what should she say.

" You know each other?? " I asked.

" Of course, she is my cousin .... Did you not realise that we share the same surname and we both belong to Jodhpur? "

" Oh yeah, she is Swati's friend." She smiled at him and nodded. Then she went away with Swati and others.

" Vikram I need to talk to you... I need your help but I want you to be discreet about it."

" Yeah of course... " He said eagerly.

I explained to him almost everything. He was shocked.

" But if she gets hurt... I will kill Sahil."

" Do you trust me? "

" You don't need to ask that but I don't trust him... We all know how he is... " He said.

" Please... I know... But he is a nice person... We need to bring him back on right track. "

" Ok... What do you want me to do? "

" Just don't let Sahil know that she is Manyata Singh Rathore from Jodhpur. "

" That's it?? " He asked.

" Yes... For the time being... "

" Take care of her for me... " He said.

" Trust me she is just like Swati to me. " I assured him and he patted me on the back.

We both came downstairs and it seemed that his eyes kept following Sahil and Manyata.

We all enjoyed the dinner and then I called Damini but Sahil snatched the phone from me and started talking to her as me. While Mehul and Rahul held me tightly and shut my mouth by placing his hand on it tightly.

Sahil put the phone on speaker.

" So... What were you doing beautiful?? Were you missing me? "

" No... Not at all... Why would I miss you? "

" But I am missing you so much... "

" Oh please ... Don't bore me... Samar and I are watching such an interesting movie. "

" What?? Now Samar is more important than me?? Means you prefer watching a movie than talking to me...your Sagar?? " Sahil said trying to tease me and trying even harder not to laugh.

" Of course Sahil... Watching a movie is more important to me when I know that you are trying to act like Sagar to tease him. Give the phone back to Sagar and turn off the speakerphone." She said and I knew that she was smiling. Sahil's jaw dropped. Everyone was shocked as we had the same kind of voice too.

" This is not fair..... How did you recognise that it was me not him?"

" I have my ways.... "

" No... Tell me. "

" Well Sahil, I love him for the last 10 years... Of course, I would recognise that it was not him the way you talked just now. I could sense the moment you spoke... The emotion was different. Then the endearment you used was different... On top of that Sagar would have gone crazy just at the mention of me watching a movie with Samar and that I preferred doing that than talking to him ......Then there was a gap for a few seconds and then you switched on the speaker. Sagar would not do that...."

" Smart... Know him well... Hnn? "

" I think so.. now give the phone to him... "

" Ok beautiful... Hats off to you. "

" Thanks, " she said and all my friends clapped and hooted for her. He gave my phone back.

" Now leave me alone... " I said to all of them but they shook their head.

" Go away... Your wives are looking for you... " I said but still they kept grinning.

" Ok, fine stay here. " I said and I got away from there and they laughed.

" Hi... Love..... "

" Hi... "

" Were you really watching a movie with that idiot? " I asked. She burst out laughing.

" Yeah but then I got bored... Just then you called up and I came out. "

" Sahil snatched the phone from me and Rahul and Mehul caught me. " I told her.

" Hmmm "

" Say that again... "

" What ?? "

" That you love me for the last 10 years...I loved hearing that. "

" I love you for the last 10 years, Sagar. "

" I love you too. So tomorrow we will be engaged. Are you happy? "

" What do you think ?? "

" No... You tell me.. "

" I am very happy... Sagar. "

" I wish you were in the next room just like in the guest house. I would have come to meet you... I can't stay away from you. "

" Have patience ... There are only 15 days left. "

" Only 15??? It is fifteeeen days. " I said and she laughed.

" Ok, I am going to sleep now... Good night. ".

" Good night...dream about me. I am missing you... Love you ... bye." I said and then I heard roaring laughter. I turned to see all my friends and Sahil were laughing like fools.

" It is fifteeeen days love... " Said Mehul.

" Say that again...love. " Rahul mimicked me.

" What ?? " Mehul said.

" That you love me for the last 10 years... I loved hearing that." Vikram said laughing.

" Were you really watching a movie with that idiot? " Sahil said just like me.

" I will kill all of you... Don't you have anything else to do? " I said to them.

" No we all are absolutely free and are here just to tease you and attend your engagement. " Vikram said. Everyone else laughed.

" You know my brother is totally whipped. He slept on her couch and in the morning her parents came all of a sudden and were standing outside her door while he was snoring. I had to go and save both of them. " Sahil told everyone.

" He was totally whipped the moment he saw her. I still remember all those funny and stupid things he did to get her attention. Don't you remember him fighting with seniors over her... " Vikram said shaking his head.

They all were making fun of me and I was laughing with them too. I was just waiting for the night to get over so that I could meet her again.
