Chapter 78

Sagar's POV

She was going in her room when I also went inside, closed the door, caught her hand and pulled her in my arms.

She was shocked and was about to shriek when I placed my finger on her lips. She was relieved to see me but then she removed my finger and got embarrassed and a bit angry.

" Sagar.. what is this?? Please leave and go out. Someone might come.. we both are not there. What will people and our families think about us?? No Sagar.. this is not fair.. please leave me right now an....." She was blabbering... So I did what I liked the most to make her stop. I kissed her hard. I wanted to do that since the moment I saw her coming towards me. She kept punching me on my chest, but I didn't bother.

I took another step towards her and caged her between her door and myself. I kept kissing her and she stopped pushing and punching me. Her hands threaded themselves into my hair. My hands were touching her bare waist and she shuddered which excited me more. Her skin was softer than the softest silk. It was driving me insane. I broke the kiss to look at her.

" You are so soft. " I said but my voice was husky.

" Sagar... Please.. " her voice was filled with emotion.

" Please what?? " I asked her even more into me.

" I don't know... But we should not be here at this moment. " She said and I caressed her cheeks and nuzzled on her ear and neck.

" Hmmm ... But I was dying to do this."

" Sagar... Please go back. " She was pleading with her eyes. I pecked on her lips and hugged her once again before going back.

I came out of her room when I saw Sahil and Manyata coming towards me.

What was she doing here?

" Sagar Ji... You go. I will help her." Manyata said to me shyly.

" Hmm, thanks. " I said and she went to her room.

I started going towards the party when Sahil caught my hand.

" Look at yourself, before going out you idiot ." He said and pulled me in a washroom. Oh shit !! My hair was ruffled and there was a faint smudge of her lip colour on mine.

I closed my eyes and blushed. Sahil was laughing at me.

" Seriously Tu Damini se bhi zyada blush karta hai..... ( You blush more than Damini.. ) " Sahil said mocking me.

I made my self presentable and we went towards the party...

My mom was already looking for us, so I said that I had gone to the washroom. She asked about Damini and Sahil said that something got spilt on her so has gone to clean it or her dress will be ruined.

" Oh ok. I will send Swati to help her."

" Mom, Manu has gone to help her. " I said and she nodded. She caressed my face and asked, " Tune kuchh khaya ya Nahin? ( Did you eat anything? ) "

" Yes, mom Swati and Sahil literally forced me to eat. " I said and mom nodded and looked at him and asked the same question. He hugged mom and nodded.

" Mom you don't worry we all had food... You have eaten or not? " I asked and when she nodded I asked,

" Are you happy mom?? "

" Very happy. now I want one more daughter-in-law and one son-in-law. "

She said and we shook our head.

" One is enough mom... I don't want any wife. " Sahil said.

" I don't want to argue today... we will talk about it later. Let me see if your dad had food or not? " She said and went away from there. Sahil looked a bit annoyed.

" What is the matter Sahil? "

" I don't want any wife... I am not marrying type. I can't be stuck to someone just because my mom wants another daughter-in-law.. "

" Relax Sahil...Marriage is not a bad thing ... "

" Agreed... but I don't want marriage... " he said and went away.

Damini came back with Manu and she was not looking into my eyes but was blushing very hard.

The people started leaving and only our families and close friends were left. We all greeted each other and then my family and friends came back to our bungalow.

Damini's POV

Sagar's parents had gone back to Delhi as there were still 15 days left for the wedding. Even my parents accompanied them as his parents insisted them to come along for at least 2 days.

Sahil and Swati were here in Chandigarh. Manyata had some work so she started doing it...

We all were busy with our work. Manyata and Swati were also practising with some dance they were about to perform in my sangeet function.

I was looking for some lehenga designs but I was not happy with what I saw... Manyata said that she has a friend who is a famous fashion designer who designs for the top models and actresses.

Swati also wanted one, so she called that friend. That friend of hers sent many pictures of various designs and I loved two of them for my various functions. Swati and Manu also selected theirs. We selected the designs and sent their pictures back.

Manu said that her friend would send all those designs for trial. I was very excited. The next day two men came with all the designs along with some gowns and other dresses and we tried them. They were perfect.. we got our dresses and lehenga. They took all of them for minor detailing and the fittings. Manu said that all the accessories will come with the dresses. I was so excited.

Only 5 days were left and Sagar's parents came back. The functions were going to start in two days.

Swati and Manyata kept doing the practice for their dances and mom were busy in the preparation for various ceremonies. Sagar was calling me to the office but mom had made me stay at home. So we had not met for the last 4 days.

The ceremonies were starting today. There were many rituals and traditions in their family so his mom and the ladies from his family came for the Shagun and Chunni Chadai. They arrived at our place in the morning of the Sagai and they brought the outfit that the bride is to wear for the Sagai along with jewellery, sweets, fruit, mawa etc. The Chunni was placed on my head and my face.

She gifted me jewellery like bangles and an ethnic gold set and applied a tiny dot of henna on my palm to mark the ceremony auspicious.

We had the Haldi, Mehndi and Sangeet on that day only.

We had the Haldi function. A paste made up of sandalwood, turmeric, rosewater and mustard oil was prepared. This paste is applied all over my face, hands and feet by the married ladies of the family.

" Beta, It brings radiance and everlasting glow on the bride’s face." Said an old lady and I just nodded and smiled.

My mom told me to get ready. As the women from his family were also coming for the ceremony. I wore a green coloured dress.

Mehendi is an indispensable part of the Punjabi wedding ceremony. Aunty, Swati, Manyata all the female relatives and the wives of Sagar's friends all came with the Mehandi that was suppose to come from his house.

The Mehandi artists came and made me sit down on a special stool and Henna was applied to my hands and feet. The henna designs were beautiful, intricate and elaborate.

The artists asked the name of my groom and Swati told them. They hid the letters of his name amidst the various patterns. It was done so beautifully. Everyone was teasing me mercilessly. They all also started getting Mehandi on their hands.

" It is believed the darker the colour of the Mehendi is, the more love the bride will receive at her in-laws," Priya said and everyone smiled and kept teasing me.

After that, everyone rested for some time as we had sangeet in the evening.
