Damini's POV



" What nonsense?? She is under no obligation... Whatever I did for my friends was not favour... It was my love for them. " Uncle said

All of a sudden my eyes started pouring tears. Uncle came and hugged me.

" You don't have to worry dear... I will make sure that you get married to Sagar only. " I blushed a bit.

" Oh, thanks ..... dad... " Samar smiled.

" And what about the girl you like?? "

" I will tell you about her soon dad... I have not even told her yet. But going to talk to her very soon."

" Ok young boy... But hurry up... You are not getting any younger. "

" Yes, dad... " He said smiling.

" Samar invite that young man to meet me and Damini's parents tonight."

" Sure dad... "

" He is definitely a nice boy. You both would like him. " Uncle said to my parents.

My parents looked satisfied with his assurance and came and hugged me too. They had no problem with me marrying Sagar but they wanted to meet him and his family. Well, that was obvious...

I was happy but my old insecurity of losing him surfaced. Mom dad and uncle were talking about Sagar... But I was zoned out.

" Damini?? What happened now?? Why are you tensed? They have agreed... Be happy " Asked Samar.

" But what about those people who threatened dad years ago... "

" I told you to rest assured. We will take care of that. Dad has a lot of influence in our society... He will find a way don't worry. "

" Are you sure?? "

" Absolutely... " He smiled at me.

He then told about my apprehensions to everyone. My mom was scared too. But uncle said that we don't need to worry about it. He would take care of it.

I nodded and tried to smile but I was tensed as hell. What if something goes wrong??



Sagar's POV



It has been so long, almost 4 hours, since they both went there to meet their parents. I was getting restless now. Sahil had gone somewhere and it was really difficult to pass the time.

I was pacing in the office when dad called up.

" Hello, dad.. "

" Hello, Sagar... How are you? "

" I am good dad, how are you?? "

" I am fine... Listen I need to go to the USA for some time so I want one of you to come here in Delhi. "

" Dad, why are you going to the US all of a sudden? "

"I have to go and help some friend of mine. So come back to Delhi as soon as possible.. " dad said.

" Dad Gautam is getting married here in Chandigarh, day after tomorrow. I will be able to come after that. "

" But I need to go earlier than that....and will stay there for about 2 weeks at least and yes Swati is also coming in a couple of days. "

" Oh, Swati is coming too. Wow!! Dad I will tell Sahil to go to Delhi. He will get both of them here. Dad, I needed to talk to you and mom regarding Something but now that you are going, I guess we will talk about it later. "

" Tell me what is it? "

" Dad... I am in love with someone and I want to get married to her as soon as possible. "

" What?? Seriously ?? Wow!! Your mom would go crazy after hearing this news."

" I know dad... Please come back soon. "

" Of course... I can't wait to see you married. What is her name?? "

" Damini. Damini Shrivastav. "

" Ok... Good. God bless you beta. I will not tell your mom..you tell her... She will be very happy. "

" Ok, dad.. "

" I have to leave early in the morning so one of you please be here. "

" Sahil would be there dad.. "

" Ok, bye take care... I am very happy for you. " dad said and disconnected the call.

I called at Damini's phone but it was switched off. Then I tried calling on Samar's phone but he did not pick up the phone.

I was really getting restless. Sahil came back after some time. I told him about dad's phone call. He just nodded.

" What's up Sahil?? "

" What?? "

" What is going on between you and dad?? "

" Nothing.. "

" Sahil I am not stupid, yes I was a bit distracted so it escaped my mind.. now tell me... "

" There is nothing to tell. "

" Then why are you not talking to each other... You seem to be avoiding dad. "

" No... I just need some space... "

" What does that mean?? '

" Nothing Sagar... Let it be... "

" Let it be... "

" Are you out of your mind??"

" What ?? "

" My dad and brother are not talking to each other... And I let it be?? Come out with it.. "

" He was being unreasonable... "

" I don't want to talk about it. "

" Sahil ... You are annoying me.. tell me already... C'mon.. hurry up. I am losing my patience. "

" He was trying to control my life... And I don't want that. " I went very close to him with my fist clenched.

" Details Sahil... "

" Ok.. he wanted me to meet a girl."

" For what?? "

" He wanted me to get married to her."

" What?? All of a sudden? '

" Yes... And you know. I don't want to marry... "

" So that's why you were avoiding him? "

" Hmmm," Sahil said looking downwards.

" So what did you do?? "

" I took care of it. "

" What do you mean by that? Did you meet the girl? "

" Yeah .... "

" I made myself clear that I am not interested... She should not think about me in any way... I took care of it. I hope she understood everything and she would not bother me. "

" How was she??"

" Oh, I was so annoyed that I didn't pay heed to her... Doesn't matter. I don't want to spend my life with her or anyone for that matter. " He said in his careless manner.

I didn't know how to make dad and Sahil talk to each other. But I don't want them like this. I would talk to dad once he is back from the US.

It was lunchtime and they had not come till now. I was getting paranoid now. Sahil called Samar again and he picked up.

" Hello, Samar?? " Sahil said and I literally snatched the phone from Sahil.

" What is happening ?? What is going on there?? "

" Sagar, I can't talk right now. "

" Why?? Is it serious?? How is she?? Can I talk to her?? "

" No.. she is with them."

" Oh, c'mon yaar tell me something... I am getting tensed now. Did they discuss your engagement or wedding? "

" Hmm," Samar said.

" Oh shit!!! What did they say? "

" They wanted to set the date as early as possible. "

" No... So what happened? "

" I will tell you when I meet you..."

" Wait... No... " I was about to call him back when he entered the office. I was happy that they came. I waited for Damini to enter as well but she did not come.

" Where is she ?? "

" She is at my place... With her parents. "

" Samar what happened ?? " I was dying to know "

" We told them that we can't marry each other. They got annoyed. My dad was offended with me. He even threatened to disown me. Used all the methods in the book to make me do what he wanted. Finally, I said I loved someone else. "

" And?? "

" I thought that I would take the blame so that her parents don't pressurise her. But she accepted very boldly that she loves you and she would rather die than marry anyone else. She is a fighter yaar. "

" Oh my god !!! My bold and beautiful Damini... But I wanted to say that to her parents. What would her parents think about me? "

" Don't worry... I was your lawyer there. I did rest your case very well. They all have agreed. Though my father must be regretting that he inspired me to be a lawyer. " He chuckled at his joke and I smiled.

" They want to meet you tonight. So come for dinner at my place. " Samar said with a smile.
