Chapter 16 Ungrateful
Oxford was a famous school, where many geniuses studied. No matter which student was concerned, teachers were the ones to allocate them. It had never happened that a student could choose the teacher and the class. Who was this girl though she was from the countryside?
'Then I choose Class 2" Monica picked randomly, which made Ms. Hanna stunned with her eyes widely open.
Monica preferred to work with Ms. Hanna who was straightforward, rather than Ms. Lavato, just a hypocrite.
'Okay, then Class 2." Mr. Dean nodded to agree. He looked like that he made effort to please the student. Both teachers were astonished that even Mr. Dean had to nod and smile at whatever the student said. Who was this student?
'Mr. Dean! How can we allow the student to choose the class on their own!?" It had never happened or been heard before. Both Class 1 and Class 2 were the best classes in Grade 11.
'Ms. Hanna, it's settled. You can show Monica where the classroom is." Mr. Dean looked unpleasant with frowned forehead and had to give the order.
'Mr. Dean..." Ms. Hanna looked pale. She never thought that she even didn't have a choice in the matter.
Mr. Lavato was contended and smiled with his eyebrows up, 'Mr. Dean, so I should go."
'Okay." Mr. Dean nodded while taking his seat. Obviously, he didn't want to waste his breath.
Ms. Hanna bit her lower lip, frustrated, and then turned to Monica, 'Let's go!"
Monica followed Ms. Hanna out of the office. Ms. Hanna rushed towards the classroom in her high heels, as if she couldn't wait to get rid of Monica.
When they were approaching the classroom, Ms. Hanna paused suddenly, 'Who are you? Since you chose my class, you'd better not hinder us. You must study hard to improve your scores in a month."
Then she went into the classroom as soon as she finished her words.
Monica raised her eyebrows hopelessly. Why did she think she could be the one to hinder the whole class?
Only because she was from the countryside?
Although she was frustrated, she followed Ms. Hanna into the classroom still.
'Be quiet! Let's welcome the new student, Monica Moore."
No matter how unwilling she was, she had to introduce Monice to the class.
All students looked up at a beautiful and touching girl walking in.
Suddenly the whole class was in silence. After a while, the representative of the Sports Club, Matt Lee, started to clap his hands, 'Welcome to our class!"
Then other boys followed him to clap their hands. They were always enthusiastic to a beauty.
'Look, Max. Here comes a true beauty!"
In the last row, Calvin Laiart nudged Max Vonti with his elbow.
'Don't disturb Max. He can only see Annette, the most popular girl at school." Benedict Hauser laughed while fooling around, but his eyes were on Monica with pride, 'But it seems this girl is more catching than Ashley..."
Max opened his eyes, frowned at Benedict's comment. His dark eyes were fixed on the pair of crystal-clear eyes of Monica.
A beam of sunshine was on her. She had fair face, well-shaped body and long straight legs. A cool and proud air was around her, which decorated her beauty with a taste of coolness and even noble.
'Yes, she is more catching... But... It seemed that she looks a bit like Ashley Moore, doesn't she?" Calvin had some doubts.
Benedict rolled his eyes at him, 'everyone looks like Ashley in your eyes!"
When they were arguing, Monica started to give a brief self-introduction. 'I am a transferred student, Monica Moore. Nice to meet you!"
Ms. Hanna expected her to give a short speech, but she addressed just a few words. Then she had to say, 'Okay, there is a vacant seat in the third row from the back. Go and be seated."
'Geeze, I thought a transferred student at Grade 11 must be someone with a great background. But I never expected that she was assigned to the 3rd row from the back." Benedict felt a bit sorry for her. In Class 2, only those whose scores ranked at the bottom would sit in the 3rd row from the back. Obviously, the new student wasn't good at studying.
Monica seemed to be numb to how others looked at her, but sit down at the appointed seat leisurely. Max took a look at her and felt she did resemble Ashley and Annette Moore, and her surname was also Moore.
The class was over quickly. Ms. Hanna distributed some exercise sheets and emphasized while standing on the platform, 'These exercises are the homework for today. You need to finish it at the night session."
'Ah?" Wailing noise sounded in the classroom.
Ms. Hanna looked at them coldly, 'No reason to be surprised. In the coming Monthly Exam, if anyone hinders the group scores, he shall not come in the classroom, but standing in the corridor!"
Ms. Hanna fixed her eyes on Monica at the end. Monica was not surprised at all, but she looked back with a bit joking expression in her eyes.
However, Ms. Hanna took it as she was intimidated. 'You are dismissed!"
Many students started to gossip as soon as Ms. Hanna left. They all said she was a notoriously difficult teacher.
Some obedient students started to work on the exercise already during the break.
Monica flipped through the sheets randomly and then put them aside.
'Hi there, are they too difficult for you?" A boy sitting atone row in front of her smiled. Two buckteeth and dimples made him adorable. Monica remembered him. He was the one who clapped his hands to welcome her first.
'I am the representative of the Sports Union in our class. You can ask me if there's anything you don't know." Matt volunteered his service.
'Geeze..." Calvin at the last row snorted, 'Matt, your seat at the 4th row at the back, which means you just got a pass. How could you teach others?"
'But still, it is much better than you who are always the last." Matt rebuked his statement coldly. At least he was still a qualified student who sat in the 4th row from the back. At Senior section in Oxford, those who were just qualified would still be the elite students in other schools.
'You!" Calvin wanted to argue out of anger.
Max was already bored with their arguments, he said, 'Enough!"
