Chapter 43 Coffee Was More Attractive
How could he know Monica was able to answer the questions in the test paper just by a glance, and she didn't need those complicated process taught by the teacher.
Monica didn't wait for Max as the latter was still stunned. She chose a dormitory randomly in the morning and had no time to have a good look. She even didn't meet anyone in the dorm. She stepped out at a quicker pace to the dorm.
Some people on the way were pointing at her. She could hear some words like bad girl, school beauty, etc., but she didn't care and went to the dormitory directly.
Upon her arrival, the other two roommates came back already.
Suzie opened her eyes widely to see Monica came in, as if she didn't expect that Monica would be the new roommate.
Monica knew the other roommate too. She was the representative of English study, Kinna Joy, who didn't like to talk much, and was cold and proud, so that she was called nerd by other students.
Monica and Suzie weren't familiar with Kinna. While Monica came in, Kinna just glanced at her without greeting, but was busy with reading with her head lowered.
Suzie came up happily, 'It was you who would move in. Monica, how nice it is. We will live together from now on!"
Monica nodded to her head slightly. Her family servant already had her bed tidied up. she opened her travel bag while sitting on the bed, and also put away the necessities she brought along. She locked away her notebook at the head cupboard.
As soon as she got organized all the stuff, she started to read beside the study table. Suzie came to her awkwardly to ask, 'Monica, I heard that you were studying at the Mathematics Olympiad training was completely different from what we learned at class. Can you please tell us what you learned there?"
Monica nodded and gave the test paper from the class to Suzie, and her eyes were brightened immediately, 'Is this for me?"
She wanted to have a look at those original questions for so long, but as she wasn't qualified for the contest.
'Thank you, Monica!" I will work on it now. If I have any questions, can I ask you for help?"
Monica agreed. Suzie went back to answer the questions happily. But few minutes later, she came back, frustrated.
'Monica, I don't know how to answer any of these questions, can you please explain them to me?"
Before Monica could answer, Kinna who was reciting the English words said annoyingly, 'Suzie, can't you stop? Others don't need to study? I could still hear your voice even if I have the headset on!"
Kinna was very upset that Suzie was the representative of the study at class but she was just average with her study and she sat at the 3rd row, while she was just a representative of English study.
Suzie was blamed fiercely and dared not to utter a word in grievance.
Monica looked at her twisted face, said, 'I'm hungry, am heading out to the canteen. Will you come along?"
Suzie nodded immediately and they left the dorm one after the other. Suzie continued to talk about she wasn't noise, how could it be possible that she disturbed Kinna on the way. After dinner, Suzie asked again about how to solve those questions on the paper.
Monica chose a few comparatively simple questions and explained to her. Her process was simple so that Suzie understood immediately. She couldn't help expressing her respect to Monica, 'Monica, you are great. Before Ms. Hanna explained solving process of some similar questions, but I couldn't understand. But I can understand your explanation immediately!"
After dinner, on the way back, Suzie thought of how she was treated by Kinna and explained, 'Kinna is very cold. Monica, you don't know before you came, I could keep silence for a whole day. We never went to class together. And every time I greeted her, there was no response at all..."
Monica was never interested in such trivial problems between girls, so that she was aloof again.
Suddenly, she saw Laurence's coffee shop.
Thinking of free coffee he promised to her, Monica started to miss the special coffee beans in his shop.
She couldn't help changing the topic and pointed to the coffee shop, 'Shall we go to have some coffee? I went there once and the coffee was good."
It was actually beyond good. It was her favorite!
Suzie shook her head, 'No,I can't. The monthly test is coming and I need to study on it. If my score is bad, my parents would really be upset."
Monica didn't stop her so that they separated in front of the canteen. Monica started to walk to the school gate after she saw Suzie was on her way to the dormitory.
When she arrived at the coffee shop, she saw Laurence was talking to the lobby manager, while the latter nodded occasionally.
Did President Hall have nothing to do? Was he always here?
Monica knew they were not familiar with each other yet, so that she decided to ignore him but went into the shop indifferently instead. While she was placing the order, she noticed there were some snacks on the showcase, and some even had special names. She ordered a few out of curiosity. At the end she ordered a cup of mocha and then turned back to the seat she had last time.
It was near the ceiling window on the side. She enjoyed the sunset through the window and then took the book she read in the afternoon out of her bag and continued.
Laurence noticed her already when she came in.
Normally, those girls who met him once would come over to say hello voluntarily, but his fiancée was different. She didn't take a look at him but found herself a place after playing an order.
It seemed that she came just for free coffee!
He even couldn't be compared with the coffee?
