Chapter 58 Monica Scored Zero!
When she thought of Monica's face, Annette gritted her teeth angrily.
She looked at Max at her side who was slanting his head to look at Monica's direction in an absent mood, which drove her crazier.
Since last time she lost face in the coffee shop, Max had always given her cold shoulder. Today it took her a while to finally show up together with him, but he was looking at Monica!
Annette looked sullen, but in whatever way she herself was the person beside Max. she took a deep breath to maintain her posture of an adorable girl, and called Max in her sweet voice, 'Max, there is a question I didn't understand well from last time, can you explain it to me?"
Max looked up at her, frowning out of patience.
The question she was pointing at had been explained to her by Mr. Beato. Didn't she listen?
Thinking that Monica refused his offer of explaining the question to her without hesitation, Max started to explain it to Annette carelessly.
Annette didn't thought Max would really do it. But looking at his cold look, and the admiration from the girls around her, she was extremely satisfied.
She looked at Monica rebelliously.
While Max was explaining to Annette, his eyes were actually on Monica, as he wanted to see her reaction.
Unfortunately, both of them would be disappointed as Monica was looking through the window, thoughtfully.
Max turned back, disappointed. Annette noticed he was careless, but she was still smiling although her fingernails were stuck into her palms.
It was all because of Monica!
When the bell for the class rang, Mr. Beato walked in swiftly with a pile of test in his hand. Annette smiled when she was looking at the test paper.
She never scored lower than B+. No matter how arrogant Monica was, her score should be her weak point!
When the paper was distributed, how could be she still valuable in Max's eyes.
She had her head up high, looking at Mr. Beato confidently.
Mr. Beato said while wiping the sweat off his forehead due to trotting, 'The last test result came out. Most students got good scores, especially Max, who has the potential to win at the final contest. But some students didn't do well. However, they shouldn't give up but should work harder instead. The next contest is waiting for you. They should take the current training as the supplementary exercise for future. Now I am going to distribute the paper to you."
Annette was smiling again. That country girl must be one of those who didn't do well.
Ms. Beato distributed the paper without more words. The first one was Max's.
'Max, A, very good result. you answered almost all correctly except to two questions. It won't be a problem for you to get a prize, but you should try your best to be the winner."
Max went to get his test paper, striding his long legs, without a word. His eyes at Monica were full of pride.
'Annette, A-."
Annette was a bit surprised that she got A-, just after Max, so that she was ecstatic. She almost ran to get her paper back. The pride on her face couldn't be hidden. She looked at Monica with contempt.
The students around looked at them with admiration, 'wow, one is No. 1, the other is No. 2. They fit with each other perfectly!"
Annette held her head upper at the discussion and sitting even closer to Max.
'Mike, B+"
'Amy, B."
'..."
The results were called out one after the other, only limited students didn't get the result, and Monica was one of them.
Monica gave all answers to the test and also turned in, but there was still no result for her. It was about to announce those below the satisfactory, which could only mean Monica failed the test.
When Annette thought of it, her smile couldn't be held anymore.
As expected, those from countryside were good enough!
'Alex, D."
A boy got up happily to get his paper back. Not to fail meant he didn't lose face completely.
Afterwards, Mr. Beato paused for a while as he had only one paper in his hand and the only one who didn't get the paper was Monica. The owner of that test paper was so clear.
Immediately, all the focus was on Monica.
Their attention was curious, in contempt, and taking pleasure, but none was concerned or sympathetic.
But Monica held a book in her arms, as if she didn't care how others looked at her.
Max frowned. Last time she said to him it was too easy, but at the end she failed. Such a boasting mouth!
Annette looked at Monica mockingly. She never thought she was pretty good at pretending. As the only one who failed the test, she would still be so calm.
Mr. Beato lifted his hand to wipe off the running sweat at his forehead, and announced while hold the last test paper, 'Monica, no score!"
For a moment, there was a great disturbance on in the lecture room. When all came back to their senses, they all laughed, mocking voices sounded around Monica.
'She never listened last time. I thought she must have been good, but at the end no score!"
'Yes, it is hilarious! Who knows what their teacher had in mind to send her with Max to the contest. Isn't it equal to increase difficulties to Max?!"
'Only someone who is as smart as Ashley deserves to be with Max. What's the matter it is for Max to be loaded with a dumb ass?!"
