Chapter 32 The Moores Don't Owe You!
Master Henry left with Monica after his words, without any intention to care about how Anne felt.
Monica glanced at Anne coldly to mock at her for her not biting off more than she could chew, while she was making a turn.
Anne couldn't help but tearing up. Sean thought she was about to cry for being treated in that way.
'Anne, you can come with us later... don't cry..." Sean tried to console her when he noticed her depression.
Anne started to cry out when Sean expressed sympathy, 'No, you have Monica already. It's fine that everyone cares only about her. I am okay with it. I can go by myself."
Then she walked away with schoolbag on her shoulder, tears in her eyes.
'Anne..." Nancy noticed she even didn't have breakfast and want to follow her subconsciously.
Jeffery stopped her, 'Let her be. She must face the music sooner or later."
Although he didn't want to see it, but one day it would come. It would be better for Anne to be aware about it.
'It was me who neglected Anne." Nancy was still blaming herself.
Sean felt guilty too, 'Let's treat her better in future... She will leave us soon, after all, won't she?"
It silenced the table immediately.
Everyone was not into food anymore, but Justine didn't care much and said logically, 'Because she is leaving soon, we shouldn't make it different for her to make her think too much. After all, we Moores don't owe her anything."
She was treated with all the best in the past years. Nobody ever treated her badly.
His words put all into consideration.
What he said seemed reasonable.
With the support of her grandpa, Monica finally moved to the school on the second day.
She got up early to pack. It was hardly counted as a luggage as it was actually a medium-sized travel sack, with some clothes and daily necessities. She checked everything and then zipped it up, and then carried it downstairs.
Downstairs, the family car had been waiting for a long time. When Monica opened the car door, she found Michael was already in the car.
Michael greeted her immediately, 'Sean and Winston didn't come back yesterday, so I take you to the school today."
'Ok." Monica nodded. It was better that only Michael sent him to school. Otherwise, it seemed to flaunt with too many brothers around.
At that moment, Monica's travel bag caught Michael's attention.
They were all living on campus. But no matter how much they reduced the luggage; it was still much more than just a travel bag.
Monica was the only daughter in the family, but she carried just a travel bag together with her school bag. Michael frowned slightly.
'Monica, do you only pack so little to live in school?"
'I don't like being loaded."
Afterwards, she threw her bag on the seat and then sat down and closed her eyes to rest.
Michael noticed she didn't want to continue the conversation, so that he swallowed some questions he wanted to ask.
But he bore it in mind that Monica was different from other girls. She didn't like too much decoration or very girlish stuff. A sister like that was actually much cooler.
The car drove into the campus steadily until they reached the office building. Monica took off while waving goodbye to Michael, and then went to Ms. Hanna for the lodging registration.
She came to Ms. Hanna's office slowly. When she was about to knock at the door, she heard a greasy voice talking cynically.
'Ms. Hanna, I never thought you could be so cunning considering your age. I think you must have buttered Mr. Dean up to gain advantage. I saw everything just now. The coffee was not cheap, I am afraid it cost about half of your salary. even though you wanted to get the title of Teacher of the Year badly, you shouldn't make it so obvious."
It sounded like Mr. Lavato to Monica.
In the office, Ms. Hanna closed her lips awkwardly. Mr. Lavato's family had some background connection with the board members. He often took advantage of the new teachers because of his background and experiences.
Principal Williams prohibited strictly to send gifts, but Mr. Lavato didn't care and still sent expensive gifts to Mr. Dean in order to get more benefits than her. Thus, Mr. Dean was always complaining about her. She was forced to do so, but she didn't expect that Mr. Lavato saw it.
Ms. Hanna wanted to say something against his sarcastic accusation, but eventually she didn't say anything, but tears were welling up in her eyes.
Monica just pushed the door open at that time. Ms. Hanna saw her and then lowered her head to withhold tears, and said quickly, 'Monica, you are here for registration, aren't you? I have the forms ready; you only need to sign these papers."
She stood up to hand the forms over to Monica while talking.
Monica felt her voice was obviously coarse. She raised her eyebrows, but she didn't say anything but signed the documents in silence.
Ms. Hanna forced a smile on the face, 'Okay, you can put your luggage in the dormitory today. Principal Williams said you could choose a dorm you like."
Monica nodded and turned to leave. At that time Mr. Lavato made hot tea and was about to go out, with tea in his hand.
It was very narrow at the door, and Mr. Lavato thought Monica would let him go first. But to his surprise, Monica seemed to not see him and bumped into him abruptly.
Immediately, the hot tea in his hand fell onto himself, including the exposed face and hands.
'Ouch!!" His scream out of pain immediately echoed in the office.
