Chapter 68 Don't Let Laurence Eat!
5 minutes passed without being noticed and Laurence looked more and more unpleasant.
Last time she came and ignored him. This time she ignored him again for study.
Laurence had never experienced being neglected in his life.
At that moment, the food he ordered for her came too. She then put away the book and started to eat.
Then she noticed Laurence didn't look happen, then asked, 'What happened?"
He was happy just now, but why he changed to bad mood suddenly?
'I was waiting for your evaluation." Being neglected was unbearable enough, but she even didn't remember what he was waiting for?
'I said already, it was the best coffee I ever had." She said seriously.
Laurence frowned, 'Finished?"
Before she would finish her evaluation with the brand, baking process, but this time nothing more for him?
'Then what?" She asked innocently.
Laurence didn't know what to say, 'Okay, not bad."
At that time, he was speechless and took the fork to dine with her with head lowered.
But Monica frowned, 'What are you doing?"
Laurence paused, 'Eat."
Should I report to her about this?
'Why do you eat with me?" Monica frowned. They met a few times and were not familiar at all. Why should they dine together?
Her indifferent expression and rejecting voice made his almost laugh.
No matter where he went, numerous women would like to invite him to dinner, but he always snorted contemptuously. Today he took the initiative to dine with Monica, but she even didn't care even with a look of disgust.
'I made the order for you and I can't eat?" Laurence tried to suppress his anger to keep his head straight.
Monica replied, 'You placed the order but I pay and I have no intention of inviting you."
She was not used to dine with strangers.
'You..." burst in laugh eventually, Laurence couldn't help clapping his hands, 'Good, Ms. Moore, you are funny. Then I invite you this time, okay?"
Monica raised her eyebrows, 'No, I don't want to owe you. Let's eat separately."
Then she lowered her head to eat. She even placed the salad closer to her to display her determination of dining alone.
It was his first time to be rejected like that. The people around started to look at them. Laurence had to keep his voice down by squeezing a few words out of his gritted teeth, 'Is this the way how you treat your fiancé?"
'Puff!" She almost spit coffee out and hurried to clear her mouth with Kleenex.
Then she looked up to stare at him in anger, 'Stop kidding! We have agreed to cancel the engagement."
It seemed the idea of engagement disgusted her. At that moment, Laurence regretted a bit.
'Do you really want to cancel it?" He was handsome, rich, and the successor to the Halls. She even didn't care about all these?
'Yes, don't you want the same?" Didn't he come to her family to put forward the request?
He was suddenly choked on the question.
He didn't answer but turned to the front desk angrily, 'Get me a steak."
'Yes, sir." The bartender turned to leave.
Monica gazed at him wondering what he wanted to do.
Laurence frowned, 'Can I eat here paying for myself?"
Monica agreed unwillingly to share the table, and then continued with her food.
Looking at her, Laurence was frustrated but couldn't do anything about it.
His little fiancée ... Her outstanding difference could drive him crazy.
Monica parted from Laurence and it was dark when she left the coffee shop. Nancy gave her a call to tell her the driver was at the school gate to pick her up.
All family members got together at the old mansion where Master Henry would arrange a feast for everyone.
Monica was unwilling but since Master Henry was kind to him and she didn't see her parents for several days, so that she agreed.
At the gate, the family driver was standing beside the car respectfully. When he saw her coming, he hurried to open the door.
'Mr. And Mrs. Moore are there already, and told me to wait for you."
Monica nodded. She met this driver before but they never talked with each other. He was more eagerly attentive to Ashley and Annette, as Uncle Jon was more prestige in the family.
At the moment he was suddenly so attentive to her, so that Monica couldn't help catching more glances at him.
Upon her arrival, the driver put on a flattering smile quickly. Obviously, he was more deferential to her because Master Henry sent her to the school in person last time.
Twenty minutes later, the car arrived at the old mansion. The driver hurried to run to open the door for her to get off. Looking at his sweating face, Monica kept silent, frowned.
Upon getting off, she suddenly noticed that there was an extremely cool motorbike parking at the side to the door.
She was fond of such stuff and recognized it was the latest edition of Reston Lightening which was top notch at performance, speed and comfort.
Of course, the price was also high. She narrowed her eyes to check the configuration which was also the first-class, which meant it cost at least more than 1 million dollars.
She spent a bit longer to appreciate each and every component, which was rare for her. She couldn't help wondering who the owner was.
After a few minutes, she came in by pushing the door open. She could see all the family members arrived, three uncles with their wives. Uncle Hale came together with his sons and daughters. Immediately everyone turned to look at her. Gloria's unhappiness could be seen completely in her eyes.
Jeffery and Nancy came very early, except Monica didn't show up.
Monica, as the youngest in the family, kept all other waiting for her, which was regarded as extremely ill-mannered.
Gloria sneered cynically, 'Monica, you are from the countryside, it is common that you often misbehave. However, since you are now in the Moores in Imperial Capital, don't you think you should learn some etiquette? How could you keep all of us wait just for you?"
Last time, Monica and her parents kept them waiting. But this time, only Monica kept them to wait for such a long time.
Furthermore, what was more irritating was that Master Henry would only start dinner when Monica arrived. God knew why she was so special.
Nancy felt awkward and intended to explain on Monica's behalf, but Jeffery shook head to her to let it go.
Anne was gloating secretively. What could she do now even though she was in the limelight at school? At home, she was just a country girl! Nobody would look up to her!
Originally, she was expected to apologize to Gloria, but Monica didn't answer but checked her watch instead. It was just 6 o'clock, and normally the family dinner started around 6.55pm.
She handed over her schoolbag to the servant and said lightly, 'I didn't keep you wait, but the kitchen did."
Indeed, the kitchen just started to place the dinner out on the table. The food was even not ready, how could she eat?
Gloria got choked at her words but couldn't refute too. She stood up suddenly while patting the table forcefully, with her fingers pointing at Monica, 'Is this the way how you talk with me?"
