Chapter TWENTY NINE

I haven't been feeling well and ever since the attack I haven't left my room for two weeks,it was boring staying here but Syrus told me not to leave my room.
I sat by the window, busking in the warm sun that poured through it when the door burst open, startling me so much I dropped the mug of tea in my hands.
Tatiana walked in with a smug look but before I could ask why she was here another man walked in. I could feel the air around me shift,I felt my back straighten, an aura of immense power.
The man stood there and looked at me "you dear look at me in the eye human",he said ,his voice sending shivers down my spine.
My legs felt like Jell-O as I slowly slide down to my knees, The man before me was a splitting image of Syrus,an older scarier version,the lines on his face hard just showing how much if a difficult man he was,his hair that had patches of gray in the side and in front was gelled back, it was Syrus' dad , Simon Vanclavik.
I saw the similar necklace I had in my pocket around his neck. I was too scared to take a second look and just squeezed the necklace in my hand that was in the pocket of my sweatpants.
"Come on Dad, Syrus is pretty sensitive about the girl, it's his mate", Yedira says even though it sounds like she wants her dad to leave me alone,I can tell the amusement in her voice. She was only rubbing salt to the wound.
"It is just a human, plus she is the daughter of the man that created all these problems for us!", He said slamming his cane on the floor with so much force it felt like the walls shook.
"The bloodline won't continue. Because my dear father this human is not his mate but she is his fated", She smiles and winks at me.
" Immediately Syrus gets here tell him to meet me in the office", He angrily says and turns to leave suddenly stopping at the door.and turned to look at me I realized they were all looking at me now strangely.
Maybe it's because my heart kept beating so fast,the silence was making me panic.
"What's going on?", Syrus who just came in says." What are you doing here father?", He questions.
" You little…..!", Tatiana lounged at me but was held down by Cole. I've never seen her so angry.
Simon walked towards me and pointed his cane to my stomach "you already got her pregnant",he says and turned to leave.
" You're already pregnant ?I'm really going to be an aunt?", Yedira laughs "Syrus you've made things so much easier",she says and walks away.
"What does she mean?",I ask Syrus as he lifts me from the ground.
"Don't listen to her!",he says as he gently puts me on the bed.
'` I'm really pregnant?",I ask nervously and look at him.
" Yes ",he nods.
"How do you know",
"I can hear his steady heartbeat",he says, placing his ear to my stomach. I'm pregnant? I'm having a baby of my own, I'm going to have the family I never had.
Syrus leaves me to rest and goes to speak to his father.
Will he mark me now that I'm having his baby? This is the best news I've ever heard, having the family I've always wanted.
I touched my abdomen and smiled,the three of us were going to stay together no matter what. I'll help him forget about Deborah because it is obvious there is no cure and I heard from his aunt when I was eavesdropping on her as I explored the little tunnel. They were going to out to death all the wolves that had turned rogue.
I've never wished death on anyone but ,the happiness of my family was at stake.
Later that evening Mark came to examine me. It's now always awkward between us, Syrus forbade me to get close to him or even spend time with him.
"Are you sure about this Eden?",he asks after he finishes examining me. I can see the sadness and worry in his eyes,but if he loved me he'd let me be happy and being with Syrus makes me happy even if he hasn't accepted his feelings for me yet.
"What do you mean?",I ask and avoid his gaze
"Syrus doesn't love you,he is only with you because he couldn't resist the mate bond and you Eden you don't love him you're just confused, confusing the bond attraction between you two as love,he doesn't love ,he never will ,he spends day and night still trying to save Deborah!", He says holding my face in his.
" Why do people keep saying that,you also think I'm crazy and I need help?! That it's just the feelings of abandonment that make me cling to him?! "
" Eden listen to me",
" Get out! I know what I feel,I love him no matter what you or anyone else says, I'm his mate we were made for each other,no one in this world will love me like he will!",
" I will", Mark sadly says and walks out.
