Chapter THIRTY

Syrus' POV
I've known for a week now that Eden is pregnant, I'm always careful but I just don't know why I did it.
I walk into my office and find my Dad in there sitting in my chair like he owns the place.
"When were you planning on telling me that you have a human for a mate?", He asked looking at my mother's picture.
"Do you imagine the embarrassment I felt when that bastard Jeffery mentioned it at our last meeting?!". Him and Jeffrey always oppose each other at meetings, their feud has continued on for years. "Kill her immediately before news of you getting a human pregnant leaks out".
" I'm not going to kill her", I say.
" Why the hell not!",
" Because the human girl is his fated mate", Yadira laughed.
" What?!", He said, looking at me for confirmation.
"You've made things easier for yourself",he says, rubbing his elder's ring. " Immediately she gives birth,you kill her,a pure blood can never have a human for a mate it has never happened before,it is humiliating and shameful to the Vanclavik family name",he says and my heart sinks.
" I won't kill her",I say and clench my fists.
" Then perhaps we should put the rogue Omega to death? You know the law ,it is my influence that has stopped the council from sending the Black claws from forcefully raiding this place and killing the rogue you're keeping", He smirks.
Only he can play such dirty tricks, thinking of the way Eden's eyes brighten whenever she's excited and the smile on her face when I told her she was pregnant,I felt a huge fist wrap around my heart but losing Deborah? I just can't let them put her to death,I can't let her down.
"I knew you'd make the right decision, you're my son after all. And you", he turned to Tatiana and said " the child after birth will be yours so keep your composure and don't let the other wolves look down on their Luna", he says and walks out.
Collin walks toward and I know he is going to start lecturing me "not a word to reach Eden's ears about this, whoever opens their mouth will have their tongues ripped out I'm not going to spare even you",I say but it's message I'm sending Tatiana directly,I know she's the one that made sure the news of Eden being my mate reached my father's ears.
I don't want to kill Eden but I don't want to lose Deborah either,she is the woman I've loved all my life,I promised her that I was not to give up on her.
With Eden I just couldn't resist the pull I felt towards her as my mate but I'm starting to think it is more than that,as I've gotten closer to her with all the time we spend together.
"Poor Eden don't you think?"Yadira walks on and says. " I warned you not to overdo it", Yedira says and chuckles.
I got up and my legs led me to the dungeons and stopped in front of Deborah's cell.
She was still chained up to the wall.
"Deborah",I said but she lunged at me. "I don't know what to do with you,I need you here,you always had the answers' ',I say but she continues biting at her chains trying to free herself. I don't know if she is here or if she is still in there somewhere.
I don't want to let her down,I need to help her. But now I'm stuck in between her and Eden who is now carrying my child. But I owe a lot to Deborah,she is the one that was there for me when I lost my mother.
When I walked out of there I met Collin waiting for me,he offered me a cigarette.
"I thought you stopped smoking",I say and light my cigarettes.
" Why did you?"He asked.I knew what he was talking about but I didn't know the answer. "Don't tell me it's because of the pull of the mate's bond. You knew the consequences of her getting pregnant but you let it happen anyway".
I was always careful with her. I also don't know how I let it happen.
" Are you willing to accept that it's not the pull mate's bond but the love you feel for her", he says, crashing the butt of his cigarette with his shoe. He gives me a meaningful look and Pat's my shoulder "there is no hope accept your happiness before you lose the most important thing to you"
