Chapter THIRTY THREE

Something told me Syrus was telling the truth about what happened between him and Tatiana in his office but I can't help but feel upset and jealous. After all, when I came here he had three women,Tatiana included.
I haven't left my bed for four days now. Mark has restricted any movement on my part. I even have to use a wheelchair just to go and use the bathroom.
Syrus has come to see me more than once everyday,but is stopped by Jill every time. It's so hard to imagine the girl that used to be so scared at the mention of the Alpha standing up to him.
I finally feel like leaving my room today,so Jill helps me get ready and we go out of the room. It is convenient that there is an elevator, whoever made the plan for this house was prepared for future situations.
"You're too hot, maybe it's because you're running a fever",she says and places a hand on my forehead.
"Maybe it's because I've been in that room for so long and I just need some fresh air", I say.
As we approach the elevator, we hear sounds of things breaking in Syrus' study.Jill and I look at each other and decide to see what's going on even though there was a chance I'd see Syrus.
But it wasn't Syrus we met on the other side of the door,it was Tatiana and by the looks of it she was upset and had trashed his study. Syrus was not going to like this but at least it was going to make him upset and I was kind of happy about that. She looked like she was crying,why her hair was a mess and why she had mascara running down her eyes showing that she cried "let's go Jill "I said, I didn't care why she was this way.
She looked up at me from where she sat with a bottle of scotch in her hand and smiled. The lady looked nothing like the dignified and calm Tatiana that had nothing out of place on her.
She walked towards me and pushed Jill away and grabbed the wheelchair,I seriously thought she was going to throw me off of it and I subconsciously placed my hand on my stomach.
She didn't push me off but only turned me to look at her.
"You must be laughing at me right now right?",she says " Tell me why I shouldn't rip out the little pest growing in your stomach", she says her hands extend into claws.
"You don't have it in you to, even if you do it do you think Simon will let you go after you hurt his grandchild my child is a Vanclavik, even though he may not like me he will not forgive you",
" Yeah, hurt her and you're done!", Jill says and stands behind me.
" Yes I'm soon to be the mother to the child after all",
" Like I'd let that happen", I scoff.
" You are just like me Eden,since the very day I saw Syrus I fell in love with him.I knew I wanted to be with him,so I've done everything I could possibly do to be by his side, getting rid of anyone that stood in my way. Before you showed up Syrus didn't give me the time of day at least back then he used to tolerate me . We are just the same that the time that rogue recovers he'll forget you just like me",
" I know he loves me ,he just doesn't know it yet, it's not the mate's bond or anything like that it's just love in its purest form, even if Deborah were here I'd tell her the same thing. The only reason he's keeping you is because he has use for you, have you realized what would happen if he found another way ? Another way to become an elder without the help of your family? what will happen to you Tatiana?",
There are many eligible candidates in the Vanclavik family that want that seat I know and Syrus is not a favorite of the elder's council because he always does whatever he's wished.
"That's not possible!"She cried, backing away from me.
"Is it?", I say and Jill takes me away.
"I feel sorry for her", Jill says as we enter the elevator.I did too,kind of .
She pushed me to the back of the house that had a garden and I was shocked to find a little outdoor picnic set up for two.
"Aww Jill you didn't have to",I said.
"Wait I didn't do this",she answers just as confused.
" You didn't but I did", Syrus says, appearing from behind us with a bouquet of flowers.
I haven't seen him for days now and I can't help but say I kind of miss him,but I wasn't going to show it nor say it.
"Jill let's leave, he must have prepared this for him and his soon to be mated",I say and roll my eyes.
" No I did this for Eden",he says and takes the wheelchair away from Jill. She tried to stop him but Collin appeared out of nowhere and took her away, despite her protests.
"I don't not wish to speak to you A-L-P-H-A" I say, making him laugh. " J don't find any of this funny", I continued.
"I'm trying to make amends,I swear what happened last time was a misunderstanding and I've given you enough time to be angry",he says and kisses my cheek.
" What do you want?"I asked and pushed him away.
"To show you how sorry I am", he says and steals a kiss from me.
" You're burning up", he says and places his hand on my forehead.
"I'm fine", I say and slap his hand away " I've just been inside for too long.
Even though I acted upset I was really moved by the effort he put in,it was really sweet.
He carried me to the cushion and helped me get seated but not before stealing another kiss from me.
"I just wanted to say I'm really sorry, what happened was she came to have a word with me and suddenly got on my lap and kissed me letting you find us in such a compromising situation", he explained.
" Are you sure you're okay?", He said,no I was ignoring it because I thought it was just my body getting used to the pregnancy and maybe because I was cooped up inside for such a long time.
I could feel the rushing of bile up my throat and I couldn't couldn't stop it , throwing up on him.
"We have to get you inside", he said and carried me.
"I'm sorry I ruined your apology picnic", I muttered.
" It's okay", he said and kissed my forehead.
He laid me on the bed and it's the last thing I remember before losing consciousness.
I woke up to find Jill sleeping next to me. I had the weirdest dream. In my dream Syrus asked what I had done to him and why he was constantly thinking of me. "Why do I care so much about you?.You've finally done it, you've pushed your way inside my heart. Am I falling in love with you?", I heard him say but maybe it was just a dream that was as a result of the fever because I could hear everything like I was under water.
I got up and took the wet rug off my forehead, my movements startled Jill awake.
"You're finally awake, I'm sorry I failed to notice that you were burning a fever", she apologizes.
" It's okay, you don't have to be sorry for anything", I smile and hug her.
" Please don't ever scare me like that, Mark said he couldn't prescribe anything and we just had to get your fever to go down",
"Where's Syrus", I ask and the door opens, Syrus walks in with Collin following behind him,he has a tray in his hands.
"I made you soup, well, Collin actually made it but I helped",he says.
" How do you feel, Eden?", Collin asks.
"A little bit better thank you",I say.
"Now that you're feeling better and things seem to be okay between you two I'll take my lady here and we'll go to bed",he says and lifts Jill. Jill has been keeping me company and has been taking care of me the entire time I've spent in our room.
"So do you forgive me?", Syrus asks as he begins feeding the soup to me.
"How can I say no when you're trying so hard?", I chuckled and pecked him.
" I'll try my best to still make it up to you", he promises.
