Chapter THIRTY TWO

"I've never seen a human pregnant with a pure breed before,so I'll have to closely monitor you in case anything goes wrong", Mark says.
"I'm fine I don't know why everyone is so worried, I'm pregnant not terminally ill", I say and lay back in my bed.
Ever since I collapsed by the lake when I went for a walk by myself, everyone over reacted. I even got a scolding from Collin.
"So tell me am I going to die ",I joke.
"Don't say that! What is wrong with you", Jill says as she walks in.
" I'm joking, it's nothing serious",I laugh.
"I brought you the books you asked",she says and brings in the books from the library.I want to learn as much as I can about werewolves and Lycans.
Especially the necklace I found,I know it's what the elders were but who did it belong to exactly.
I read about a period when wolves wanted to do what they called a cleansing of their species so they'd get rid of all hybrids.
I read for the whole day and just when I was about to give up I finally found a page with a painting of a similar necklace but it had a different crest. The words were in a different language like the one on the tomb where I had taken this one from.
"What are you searching for? You've been reading all day long, remember Mark said you have to take walks to exercise",Jill says and sits next to me.
" Information on this", I say and show her the necklace,
"Where did you get it from?"She asks, taking it and examining it intently.
"In some dead guys tomb when we went to London", I say and take out my phone to take pictures of the text written in a different language.
"You stole from the dead! Are you crazy! You have to take it back to its owner",she says, snatching it from my hand.
" The guy looks like he has been dead for a long time, besides the manor once belonged to Syrus' mother's family. I'm sure it must belong to her family or someone else but it doesn't matter because he is already dead", I say and grab it from her again.
" If you raided my tomb I'll haunt you for the rest of my life", she says and light smacks the back of my head.
I search it up and the text is written in an old language that is similar to Latin.
The necklace is called a chankra, a symbol of authority given to ten families when the elders council was formed after a war between Vampires and Lycans and wolves. The war lasted for millennials,a dark age for all shifters and humans. To stop the bloodshed the royal families of both the Vampires and Lycans were overthrown and the council of elders was formed to keep the peace. Because of the blood shed they had caused that affected humans and other shifters, all shifters then erased their existence from all records on Earth and lived amongst humans; they did so after a decree from the goddess came to all guardians of all shifters at the same time through a dream.
Lycans were the original shifters and from them arose wolf shifters no one knows why it happened even the goddess herself did not answer any guardians after this happened.
So only a few pure-breed Lycans are left now.
I read everything but nothing spoke about the owner of this. I traced back the name written on the head of the tomb and searched it,it brought the name Malkiel Sinclair.
I remember seeing the name Sinclair somewhere,but where exactly I don't remember.
"Okay that's enough", Jill says and takes my phone away. " It's time for you to get some fresh air.
We walked down the stairs and I led her to the library,I know I saw that name somewhere but where exactly I don't remember very well.
"We have to take a walk not come here so you can read",
" I just have to find something I swear we'll leave as soon as I do", I said as we entered the library,the library here is small compared to the one at the Vanclavik's Manor in London which has two stories.
I look around and my eyes fall on the family tree painting on the wall Sofia Sinclair mother to Syrus and Yadira Vanclavik. So this was where I saw that name ,of course that manor once belonged to Syrus' mother's family, so Malkiel must be an uncle or grandfather of Syrus, maybe even a cousin.
I went to where the genealogy books that had all the family trees of influential families were kept and got on that had been updated only two hundred years ago.
And went to the Sinclair family tree,it ended with Sofia Sinclair and Malkiel was her father.
So this Chankra belongs to his maternal family, Syrus and Yadira are the only direct descendants and with it they can claim the seat on the elder's council that has been left empty by the Sinclair family for such a long time.
This is amazing news ,I have to give it to him right away the solution to getting rid of the engagement between him and Tatiana was right here,I squealed in delight and gave Jill a big hug.
'`What are you so happy about?", She asked. So I began explaining to her the significance of the chankra.
"This is amazing, imagine the look on that witch Tatiana's face when she finds out she's useless ",she laughed.
I was going to show Syrus so I asked her to help me to his office. I was too tired for the stairs so we used the elevator. As we neared his office the grip on the chankra in my pocket tightened.
I can't wait to see the look on his face when I tell him about it.
I pushed open the door and the strength in my knees gave out I would have fallen if it weren't for Jill holding onto me
"Eden!", Syrus called out and pushed Tatiana off of his lap,
"It's not what it looks like",
"What? that you and Tatiana weren't making out just now!". Tatiana got up from the floor, her shirt was opened and lipstick smeared over her face,she licked her lips and smiled at me.
I turned around and attempted to run back to my room but twisted my ankle and went tumbling to the ground. Syrus caught me before I could hit the ground.
"Are you okay?"Jill asked and ran to my side.
" Yes I'm fine", I say and push Syrus away from.
"Listen, it's not what it looks like she came because she said she had something to tell but suddenly sat on lap and kissed me, please you have to believe me Eden", he says, holding my face in his hands and attempting to kiss me.
"Please leave me alone", I say and push him away again.
" Just let her go!"Jill yells and comes in between Syrus and I.
" Let's go Eden,you need to rest",she says and leads me to our old room. None of us sleep here anymore because she moved into Collin's room and I usually sleep in Syrus' even though I have not officially moved in yet.
She helped me lay in bed and went to call Mark so he'd check if there was anything wrong with me,I was so scared and my stomach was aching a little bit.
