Chapter 20

We were looking at the old black house in front of us, it had three floors and its gate was rusted.

There are trees on its side but they are dead, on the side of the house you can see the barrier that divides the town and the city, when you pass that barrier it's like you're in the city.

I see crows flying around, the fountain in the middle has no water, some windows in the house are broken and its door is open and no one lives there.

"Is that it?" Cynrad asked while looking at the house.

"This is the old prime minister's first house," Pavel said while looking at the map, he folded the map and then looked at the house.

"The sign of this house is that this house is more than one hundred and fifty-six years old," Pavel said.

"Oi, look at this!" We looked at Bael who was pointing at the rusty gate.

"The old prime minister's last name is engraved on the gate, do you know that he is inside the house and just sleeping?" asked Bael.

"His brain doesn't work at all," Cynrad whispered then looked at me. "What plan?" he asked.

"Enter the house," I said.

"We might get sued for Invasion of privacy if we go in, we don't have--"

"Old houses like the one before us are of no political use," I said then looked at Pavel. "Does it look like the government and the ministers are paying interest on that old house?" I asked then tormented him.

"Put the laws aside, we're here to find what you're looking for. If you want to make the job easier, just follow me." I said then took the lead in opening the gate and walked into the yard of the old house.

The breeze was cold, I smiled when I saw from where I was standing the fear of the souls looking at me. I was tormented by someone blocking my soul with a girl child.

"Dad?" She asked, I just looked at her and then showed my red eyes, it suddenly disappeared from where she was standing, I looked at the three behind me and looked around.

"I'm sure there are ghosts here." Cynrad said while looking around.

"How sure are you?" Bael asked who was in the middle of the two and was scared.

"More sure than sure," Cynrad said then showed her feathers standing up.

"Oh right, my hair will stand on end." He says.

"I saw a child earlier," I said so the three of them looked at me.

"C-Child?" They asked at the same time, I nodded then turned away from them, and grinned.

"Yes, she is looking for her father," I said then looked behind the tree where the child who blocked me earlier was hiding.

"Y-yuniko please don't scare us," Cynrad said.

"This is where we will sleep," I said.

"WHAT?" they asked at the same time so I turned to them.

"Why?" I ask.

"W-we're going to sleep here?" Pavel asked me.

"You wanna sleep outside here, of course, we sleep inside," I said and their eyes widened even more.

"I'll just go home," Bael said and turned his back on us.

"Alright, be careful, you might meet the wolves in the woods," I said to stop him, he immediately returned to the middle of the two and then looked at me like a child.

"It's Yuniko, don't be like that, I don't even talk like that anymore," Bael said like a child so I laughed and immediately became serious.

"Who said I was joking? I'm serious." I said they were tortured.

"If you don't want to sleep here in this house, don't, I'm not forcing you," I said then started walking, I heard their footsteps that followed me.

"Find somewhere safe to sleep," I added I entered the broken door of the house, when I entered the house I was immediately greeted by some souls who were gambling in the middle where there was a table, they immediately looked at me and suddenly disappeared, I turned on the light but it doesn't work anymore that's why I just used my power to open up and have light inside.

"It's a miracle the light still comes on," Cynrad said scared. I looked at the three of them.

"Get some rest," I said so they looked at me.

"How about you?" Pavel asked, I was tormented.

"I'll probably sleep in this room." I lie even as if it's the truth, I'll just go around the whole house.

"Is that so? Aren't you scared?" Pavel asked.

"You guys are afraid of ghosts?" I asked them.

"W-who told you we're scared?" Bael asked bravely but scared.

"The girl behind you," I answered his question, he immediately shouted and made the sign of the cross so I close my eyes and get away from him. I felt dizzy from what he did.

"Oi... are you okay?" Pavel asked me, I ignored him instead I kept my eyes closed, after a while, we heard a crash upstairs causing Bael to scream even more, and suddenly came to me and held me by the arm, I immediately screamed when he touched me causing them to look at me.

"Oi what happened to you?" Pavel asked while looking at me, I looked at my arm that Bael held, his hand was there so I looked at him with fear on his face, he was looking at my wound.

"What happened to your arm?" Cynrad asked, Pavel, came to me and was about to grab my arm when I moved away from him then he looked at them evilly.

"Can you guys go to sleep? You're overacting too much." I said then went up the old stairs of the house while holding my arm that Bael held.

I looked at the ghost that made the noise upstairs, he just hid behind a door while looking at me, I entered a room and then looked at my arm that had a wound. It's creepy.

"Isn't he the one who cursed the town?"

"What are you, it's not her."

"Isn't it? It's like her."

"Shut up," I said irritated at the two souls of the woman under the bed where I was sitting, they suddenly came in front of me and looked at me, I looked at them so they were suddenly scared but stayed in front of me.

"You're one of the guardians of the seven circles aren't you?" A girl with short hair asked, I ignored them.

"You know the one who cursed the whole town?" A woman with long hair asked.

"I want to be alone, go away," I said but they just laughed.

"Is the one who committed the curse is your sister?" I glared at them.

"What curse are you talking about?" I asked annoyed.

"That curse--"

"Shhh someone is coming." The woman with long hair said then pulled her partner away from me, I was in agony then looked at my wound again, it was really bad.

"Struggle?" I looked at the speaker from above me, and my blood boiled, even more, when I saw Alada hanging on the bedroom chandelier.

"What else do you need?" I asked her irritably.

"I'll just take two wild souls." She said and suddenly disappeared up high, in an instant she was in front of me holding the soul of the woman who was talking to me earlier, in her left hand she was holding the woman with long hair while in her tail was the woman with short hair hair

"Help us!" The girl with short hair screamed in fear, I stared at Alada.

"When did you start collecting wild souls?" I asked, and she smiled at me.

"Now." She answered and then shook the two.

"They're too noisy." She said then looked at me.

"By the way, I saw your friends downstairs. Nice faces." She said with a smile then suddenly went to my side and put her arm around me.

"Come on my sister, when you accomplish your mission I will tell you all my secrets." She whispered and suddenly disappeared with the two souls, I was left alone in the room, I sighed and looked out the broken window.

"You are always so mysterious Alada," I whispered to myself.
