Chapter 48
"Really?!" Pavel and Bael asked at the same time, Abiah nodded to the two while smiling.
"Yes! We can go home!" Bael said happily and hugged Pavel.
"But how did the curse disappear?" Pavel asked the holy woman.
"You know, it doesn't matter what happened and how the curse was lifted. The important thing is that we can go home and bring grandpa with us and then you will be king!" Abiah said happily. Gabriel looked at my direction. My eyebrows just raised and then frowned, Cynrad looked at me the same way.
"Ksara, did you hear that? We can go home and the curse is gone!" Pavel happily told me then came to me and hugged me. I smiled as he hugged me.
"You will be king." I said with a smile, he let go of the hug and looked at me with a smile.
"I don't know how or what happened to make the curse disappear but as Abiah said, it doesn't matter anymore, because the important thing is that the curse is gone." Pavel said while looking at me, I laughed.
"Get your things ready, tomorrow we will travel back to Winsoul ." I said, he immediately stood up properly and saluted me.
"Roger that!" He said with a smile then happily pulled Bael into the room. The smile on my lips disappeared when I noticed the three of them staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Abiah, Cynrad, get your things ready. Ksara and I will talk first." Gabriel said, the two immediately followed him. Now Gabriel and I are the only ones left here in the living room. He looked at me and took a deep breath.
"Did Abiah agree with you?" he asked so I just stared at him and didn't answer.
"What is the exchange of her agreement with you?" he asked while looking at me seriously. I laughed then leaned on the sofa and closed my eyes.
"Nothing." I answered, I heard his soft laugh. Laughter in obvious disbelief.
"People like you can't ask for anything in return." He said so the smile on my lips curved even more. "Is it her soul and life in exchange?" he asked so on this time I looked at him with a smile on my lips.
"What if I say yes? Is there anything you can do?" I asked, the playful smile on his lips disappeared, it was replaced by anger and a frown that made me laugh even more.
"Relax old man, I won't take anything from her and she didn't make an agreement with me either." I said then lay down on the sofa, I closed my eyes, I could feel his gaze on me.
"How did the curse disappear?" he asked directly. I didn't answer him at first, I was still thinking about whether to tell him or not. Besides him, they know Cynrad and Abiah what I really am. There's probably nothing to lose if I tell him what Abiah and I did.
I took a deep breath and kept my eyes closed.
"I made a deal with her." I said, I felt him stop so I opened my eyes and looked at him. Little by little, the smile on my lips disappeared as I looked at him who was obviously surprised by what I said.
"A demon made a deal with a human?" he asked, I nodded.
"That's it." I said.
"What's in exchange for your agreement with the person?" he asked so I just stared at him. "I'm sure that your agreement with the person has something to do with it." He says.
If the thing I fear ever comes to pass, he will probably be the one who can explain it to Pavel when it does.
I sat down and looked at him seriously.
"Promise me this oldd man." I said while looking at him. "Promise you won't tell Pavel what I have to say." I told him. He just looked at me as if confused.
I smiled at him.
"My life is the exchange for my agreement with people." I said so he stiffened. I laughed at his reaction. "Creature like me live for several hundred years, or sometimes even a thousand. I made a deal with Abiah at the first opportunity, I didn't take anything from her and I didn't lose anything from her. The only thing that was lost was the one hundred years that My life." I said while looking at him.
"A while ago, I made a deal with Abiah again to get rid of the curse. And in exchange for half of my life." I said I just grinned at him. "It's up to you whether you believe it or not, you people. You're narrow minded." I then said to him.
"To get rid of the curse, you made a deal with someone, even if it was half of your life?" he asked, I just looked at him.
"But why?" he asked, making me laugh.
"It's simple, because I want to make up for what Pavel did to me in my previous life." My answer. He just stared at me as if he couldn't believe what I said.
"You love him, right?" he asked.
"If that's what I'm feeling, maybe." I answered then smiled at him. "There's one more thing I can't tell you." I said so he looked at me again.
"Alada is strong, the curse he made is strong, that's why. I gambled away the other half of my life, to make the curse go away." I said that's why he stared. "In other words, my age now is Two hundred and fifty-six years. I will not reach three hundred years because of what I have done." I said, the shock on his face because of what I said. The smile remained on my face.
"I lied to Abiah." I said softly, suddenly tears flowed that I didn't even realize had been forming for a while. "I gave her a puzzle that I'm sure she won't be able to guess." I immediately wiped my tears. "An enigma mixed with lies." I added. I stood up and took a deep breath.
"Remember, I'll tell you when you should tell Pavel what we talked about." I said coldly as I looked at him, he nodded in response. I was about to walk towards the room when he spoke.
"What will happen when you disappear?" he suddenly said causing me to stop. I didn't move, I looked at the clock but also closed my eyes. I took a deep breath then looked at the old man.
"When I'm gone, all your memories of me will be gone." I answered gently. We only looked at each other. He didn't say a word to what I said. But after a few minutes of staring, he asked again.
"Why?" he asked, a genuine smile curving my lips. Then look away.
"Because of those times, I'm sure Pavel already hates me."
