Chapter 50

I was quietly waiting for my five companions to wake up, the sun was about to rise, the whole night I just watched them and watched over them. The angel who is our enemy is bugging me, why can't I sleep like my partner does.
The angel was talking to me all night but I would only answer when I wanted to.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, I tried to think of some things to distract me while I waited, but it still ended up in an imagination that I was afraid would happen.

It was high in the morning when my companions woke up, they immediately got ready after we ate so that we could continue our journey home to Winsoul.
Only Pavel, Bael and Abiah will speak and make noise to us.

The eagerness is evident in their voice because they will finally be able to go home. While Gabriel and I just walked quietly while listening to their conversation. Cynrad, he didn't speak much either, maybe because he just woke up.

"Really? We're going to pass a haunted house?" asked Abiah.

"Mm, do you know, we slept there because the darkness overtook us. It was scary and terrifying, we heard voices and things moved on their own." Bael's story.

"Woo, that's cool! I want to experience that too! Do you want us to play a game of spirit of the glass while we're in the haunted house?" asked the holy woman so I was in agony.

"Pass, I might see a ghost later." Bael said.

"What you're saying is that you're gay that's why you don't want to play spirit of the glass." holy woman teased.

"Ksara, you've been quiet for a while. Are you okay?" Pavel asked me suddenly, walking next to me. I looked at him, I saw the worry in his eyes so I just smiled and continued walking.

"Oi, you know, I get nervous when you're so quiet. Sometimes you don't stay quiet for a few hours." He says.

"I'm fine Pavel." I said.

"I'm fine Pavel nye nye." He was imitating me so my eyebrows arched. "Do you want me to carry you?" he asked, I laughed.

"I might even carry you." I said and shook my head. He never really managed to be serious. I stopped walking and looked at my hand. I looked at Pavel holding my hand. He smiled at me so I looked back at our hands.

"I'm sure you're fine." He said, he started walking again while holding my hand, that's why I started walking again, I suddenly smiled while looking at both of our hands.

It was the first time he touched me without an image appearing in my vision.

"Look at the road Ksara." He whispered so I looked at where we were going and I realized that we were at the very back. He actually meant to hold my hand to surprise me and make me stop walking so he could hold my hand. Tsk tsk tsk Pavel, Pavel, Pavel.

"Is it too obvious?" he asked so I stared at his face.

"What's too obvious?" I asked. He laughed.

"Is it obvious that I like you so much?" he whispered and looked at me, I immediately looked away.

"I don't k-know." My answer.

"Hahaha, you're blushing. Just calm." He said that's why I looked at him.

"When I arrive at the palace, I will formally confess my feeelings to you." He said so suddenly that I lost my evil look at him. He was smiling while saying that.

"Then when you answer me, I will immediately propose to you so that you have nothing to lose." He said then looked at me. "Then when I become king, you will be queen and we will create our children and then we will rule winsoul. We will rule it orderly and peacefully." He said with a smile. My eyes slowly warmed up because of what he was saying.

"Then, we will raise our children properly, until we grow old and our children will have their own families." He said excitedly.

"Then until the next life, I will follow you. Then in our next life I will still choose you. There is no one else." I suddenly stopped walking because of what he said. He immediately looked at me and his eyes widened.

"Y-you're crying, why are you crying? Oi, don't you like what I said?" he asked and immediately wiped my tears. I smiled and shook my head, I immediately held his hand and then looked into his eyes seriously while crying.

"I Like." I answered so he stopped and his eyes widened.

"You mean you like me too?" He asked in surprise. I didn't answer, instead I pulled him closer to me then hugged him. I closed my eyes and continued to cry.

I want everything he said to happen. I want to like him. I want to be with him until the afterlife.

"I want to see you happy. So I want you to  find another woman besides me. She's the only one you can love." He relaxed when I hugged him and then I slowly let go, he was stunned by what I said that's why I took that hug to wipe my tears.

"W-what? B-but I want you--"

"I can't return your love Pavel." I lie, I can see that he will be weakened by what I said.

"Let's keep walking. We're close to the town's Barrier." I said coldly and walked towards him first.

I swallowed and once again felt that a tear had flowed from my eye, so I immediately wiped it away and walked away. I felt him follow me.

"Ksara--"

"This is not the time to talk about your feelings." I said, I felt his hand grab my left arm then forced me to face him.

My eyes widened when his soft lips touched mine, my body seemed to stiffen and my knees went weak, something disappeared from my chest and stomach because of what he did.

I closed my eyes and kissed him back, which surprised him. I immediately let go and walked away from him. He just looked at me as if he didn't expect me to kiss him back.

"You kiss back. It means what you said earlier was a lie and you really want something from me." He said and a smile slowly curved his lips.

"What? That's not important." I said. He laughed.

"That's important, because you like me too." He said laughing.

"Even if I like you, we still can't be together." I said making him laugh and shake his head. I started walking and he followed me.

"Why? Is it because I'm going to be king and you're just a normal person?" he asked. I looked at him.

"No." My answer.

"What?" he asked.

Because I'm a demon and you're a human. Because the duration of my life is counted on my fingers.

"Because I don't want to." I said so his eyes narrowed.

"It's over! It's up to you, I'll still love you and I'll continue what I told you earlier." He said that made me suffer with a smile on his face.

"You'll only be ruined if you keep doing that." I said making her frown even more.

"Hey, you two! The barrier is here in front of us, it's getting faster!" We looked at the screamer. Bael. And the barrier of the town is right in front of them.

I sped up my pace to go next to Tanda, Bael and Cynrad were already inside the barrier while Tanda and the holy woman hesitated to enter.

"The curse is gone, come in." Cynrad said. Gabriel took a deep breath.

"We want to be sure." The saintly woman said, causing Cynrad to frown.

"Nothing happened to me when I came in so you come in too." Bael said.

"Probably nothing will happen to you because the new year hasn't caught up with you outside of town. We've been celebrating outside for a few new years." Abiah said. Pavel came next to me and looked at me.

"Is there a problem?" Pavel asked TGabriel

"They are thinking twice if the curse is gone." I said so the two looked at me, I just stared at them coldly. Do they not trust me?

The saintly woman breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'll go in first, if I lose my memory I won't forgive you Ksara." The Abiah said, causing Pavel to stare at me. The holy woman took a deep breath and then slowly entered the town's barrier with her eyes closed.

When she got inside completely, she opened her eyes and looked at us.

"The curse is gone!" She said with a smile and looked at Gabriel.

"I still remember my mom and my friends! They're gone!" I smiled as I jumped for joy at the holy woman accompanied by Bael.

"Finally! I'm home in Winsoul!"




Finally, we made back home.
