Chapter 22
I looked at the three who were excited to leave the old house where we were staying, I rolled my eyes to see a woman who was standing next to Bael.
"My back hurts a lot," Bael complained that he was struggling. "It's like three elephants are running behind me," he said irritably then looked at his companion. "You?" he asked the two.
"I feel fine, nothing hurts," said Pavel.
"My nape is aching," Cynrad complained, I laughed inside when I saw a man with Cynrad's arm around him.
"Hays, it's annoying," he said while holding his neck.
I walked past them causing them to look at me, I looked at the souls next to the three, causing them to disappear.
"Let's go," I said and turned away from them, just as I turned away I saw the appearance of the boy I was talking to last night, what he said came back to me again, that he trusted me.
"Good morning, are we leaving?" he asked, I gave him a hard smile.
"We're leaving," I said so that the three wouldn't notice that I was taking someone with me, the boy smiled at me and suddenly grabbed my hand causing me to look at my hand.
"Hold me please." I looked at him without emotion and then continued walking. As we walked out of the gate, some souls who lived here were looking at us.
"One day an old man came to the mansion." The child's story made me look at him. "If I'm not mistaken, he is the owner of this mansion, but he also left as soon as foreigners entered the mansion." His story.
I looked at the road, then. The oldest prime minister is elusive. Pavel will have a hard time with this mission.
"Ksara." I looked at the boy's side when Pavel suddenly appeared with a smile on his face, I just looked at him and walked quietly.
"Oy, have you eaten yet? You just gave us the food that should be--"
"I'm full, shut up." I cut off what he had to say.
"You're so harsh, sister." Whispered the boy who was now on the other side of me, I ignored them.
"Is that so? You might lose energy because you just want to--"
"Pavel, I said I'm still full, don't be naughty," I said irritably so he pouted and smiled at me again.
"Okay, you said it." He said then looked at the road.
"Are you okay?" he suddenly asked, making me feel sick.
"I have a feeling he likes you." The child whispered to me.
"Shut up," I said to the boy, which Pavel heard so he looked at me and I also looked at him.
"I want the place I walk to be quiet, I enjoy nature," I said to Pavel who laughed, and the boy laughed too.
"Nature says that the demon that whispers to other people gets messy." The boy said so I glared at him.
"You're grumpy when you're not in the mood," Pavel said and looked at the sky with a smile. "Little by little I'm mastering your behavior." He said so I looked ahead and laughed, you're not sure.
"Really huh," I said while smiling.
"Hmm, I'm getting used to you being rude sometimes, I think it's like you're treating me more like a slave than a prince." he joked, making me laugh.
"You're just a normal person," I said so he looked at me with a smile.
"You're a normal person too, if you can speak you're weird," he said causing me to laugh even more.
"They don't know that you're not human?" asked the boy who was with us, I just looked at him and then signaled to be quiet.
"Where are we going next?" asked Bael who was behind us.
Pavel stopped walking and looked at the map behind him.
I also stopped walking and then looked around, we were in the jungle.
"Old church?" Pavel asked while looking at the map, I immediately looked at them and grabbed the map from Pavel.
It's an old church, I'm holding the map very tightly, we're out of the town barrier so we're heading to the city. And we will pass the old church that stands near the river.
Church, is the place where someone like me is not welcome.
"We're going to walk a long way." I heard Cynrad say, I gave the map to Pavel and turned away from the three of them.
I can't go to church, how can I get through the church?
"Ksara, are you alright?" I couldn't help but turn to the person who called me, the sun was shining but I was cold. Am I nervous? I don't know, am I confused? maybe. It hurts for me to be in a holy place.
I have never been able to stay in a holy place for a long time, just seeing someone make the sign of the cross scares me.
"Y-yeah." None of my answers though the truth is no.
"Sister, are you afraid?" I looked at the young soul with us, I must have been scared.
I didn't answer him, instead, I just walked. I heard Pavel calling my name but I didn't look at him, I just kept walking. Until someone pulled my hand causing me to stop.
I saw the concern in Pavel's eyes as he pulled my hand but I immediately looked away and walked away from him.
"Let's hurry up," I said.
"You look pale." He said that I kept quiet. I took a deep breath and raised an eyebrow at him.
"It's normal for me when I can't eat."I lie.
"I still have to-"
"I'm fine, you shouldn't be worried about your Yuniko. Let's just start walking because we have a long way to go." I think it will take us an afternoon to walk, the forest where we are standing is vast.
We started walking, quietly and no one spoke, only the sound of birds and trees could be heard when the wind blew. We didn't stop walking even though Bael had already complained about stopping to rest.
"Isn't it possible for just a moment? My foot hurts." Bael said, I didn't pay attention to him, I just kept walking, my brain doesn't work at this time because its only content is the church we are going to.
"Ksara." I continued walking.
"Ksara, for a moment." I stopped when Pavel pulled me close to him and hugged me, I saw again some images that I only see once when he touches me, I swallowed when he looked at me.
"Are you going to kill yourself?" Conrad's forehead was wrinkled while looking at me, I was confused by them that's why I looked where I was supposed to walk and saw that the one step in front of me was a cliff. I swallowed.
As I floated so much and I was scared that I didn't realize that there was a cliff in front of me, Pavel held my left hand and then looked at me with concern.
"Let's rest for a while, you need to rest." He whispered while holding my hand, I just looked at him and then nodded.
I need to rest to think of a plan for what should I do when I'm in front of the church I'm afraid.
