Chapter 29
I opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was dark surroundings and fading light.
I sat down and looked around. We're not in the woods, are we in a cave?
I tried to remember what happened earlier, but I couldn't remember anything. The only thing that played in my mind was Pavel calling my name.
I looked at him, he was sleeping quietly and peacefully next to Bael. While Cynrad was sitting and leaning on the rock while sleeping. Our little light comes from the burning fire.
Did I lose consciousness earlier? But why did my soul feel the same? In those cases, my soul only separates from the human body when the body I use gets tired.
Unless my soul is tired too. My forehead wrinkled, and I remembered again what we did to escape from the monster that I'm sure Alada did.
Alada, I need to talk to that one who doesn't know about my plans. At any time, she will be affected by my actions.
I took a deep breath and kept looking at the three. I'm sure, that at any time Alada will show up to criticize what I did to save the three, I have to stay awake so I can guard the three against Alada.
I am sure, that she will know and she will move one of the three. Something that I will not allow because I am the only one who has the right to move among the three of them. I was assigned this mission, and have no right to it in Alada.
As I expected, I could feel Alada, a strong wind blew from where it caused the fire that served as our light here inside the cave to die, I immediately activated my power to create a fire that would not die easily.
"Ksara, you are reprimanded." I heard Alada whisper in my ear but when I looked back she was not there.
"You never learn." Now I heard it in front of me, but Alada was not there. She paralyzes her power again, slowly becoming more annoying.
I moaned weakly when I felt a scratch on my cheek, I was held by it and immediately looked around. She was always a coward, always hiding and relying on the dark.
"Don't be a coward Alada," I said causing her to laugh. I got a hard slap, it happened too fast.
"You are a disgrace Ksara." It whispered in my left ear. "You chose to protect those people rather than finish your mission." She added.
I felt that she was on the left side of my ear, so I immediately raised my right hand and pulled her hair to make her face me.
I immediately laid her down and then lay on top of her while she choked.
"Don't be ignorant of my plans Alada, you are not a role to be involved in what I do," I said as she choked and gave her a bad look.
She was struggling but she laughed.
"Why Ksara, are you afraid that I will do something bad to them?" she asked. I gave her a strong slap then I grabbed her horn.
"My mission is mine alone. You have no right to know or interfere with my actions." I said emphatically. She smirked.
"What if I kill one of them?" she asked and I felt her move her hand so I looked at the three and I almost stopped breathing when I saw the sharp object heading in Pavel's direction.
I immediately jumped up and teleported to Pavel's direction and blocked myself, I felt a sharp object on my arm before I stopped it and threw it in Alada's direction. Alada laughed and suddenly went in front of me then pulled me by my hair away from the three.
"Why does your heart soften towards people Ksara?" she asked while holding my hair.
"My heart doesn't soften, because I don't have heart Alada." I gave a sharp answer and then went to her.
She immediately dodged just as I was going to strangle her, she disappeared in front of me and I felt her presence behind me, I immediately looked back and immediately took my small and sharp knife hidden behind my back and pointed it at her.
She grinned and raised her hand in the air while looking at me.
"I repeat Alada." I looked at her intently. "You can't know about my plans and you can't follow me," I said while looking at her intently.
"I also don't allow you to move one of the three of them because I own them Alada. They are mine and I alone have the right to move them." I said emphatically as I firmly held her horn and pressed the knife I was holding on her neck.
"At the time, that you did something bad to them or even landed on your skin even on a small one strand of their hair, I make sure you will be erased from the world you live in," I said to her coldly and darkly, making the smile disappear from her lips.
I lowered the knife I was holding, but my grip on her horn remained.
"You're not stupid enough to miss what I said Alada, you know me. When I say it, I do it." I said then violently let go of her horn, she even pounced on me and then slowly retreated.
"Make sure you finish your mission Ksara, because of the time you failed. Everything you told me will come back to you." She said then suddenly disappeared. I feel the surroundings, her presence is gone. I breathed a sigh of relief and hid the knife I was holding.
I looked at the three who were sleeping soundly.
"Why is your heart softening towards people Ksara?"
I remembered again what Alada had said to me, softening. I never thought of being soft on people. To me, they are still toys and weak creatures, which is why I have not yet softened at this point.
"Are you afraid I will do something bad to them?"
I looked at the three again. Am I really afraid? I do not know. Why should I be afraid for the three of them? I closed my eyes as I remembered how I had blocked myself from Pavel earlier. I was holding my arm that had a wound due to Alada's stone thrown in Pavel's direction.
I sat down and leaned against the stone and then closed my eyes.
I need to focus on my mission. I looked at my wound.
"Fucj, I'm injured," I said irritably then closed my eyes again.
When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was the faces of the three. I frowned.
"Good morning." They said at the same time that's why I sat down and looked outside the cave, it was morning. I didn't notice that I fell asleep.
"Eat first," Pavel said then pointed to a wide rock with only fruits on it. "Did you wake up last night? You should have woken us up when you got the fruits." I frowned.
"What?" I will ask.
"I said, You had woken me or us up last night so you could have someone with you to pick the fruit," Pavel said so my forehead wrinkled even more. I thought they took that fruit?
"You didn't take the fruit?" I asked so they looked at me.
"Not you?" Bael asked.
"Why should I take you food when we have our food?" I said so Cynrad spat out what was in her mouth and then growled. I stood up and approached the fruits and smelled them.
I didn't smell any poison or anything.
"If you didn't pick those, then who?" Cynrad asked, I took an apple then faced them and took a bite.
"HOY SPIT THAT OUT, IT MAY BE POISON!" Pavel said nervously but I didn't listen to him and bit again. Their foreheads were wrinkled as they looked at me, waiting to see if something would happen to me.
"It's delicious, try it," I said then took another bite.
"The fruit is not poisonous," Bael said then took a banana.
"That's surprising," Pavel whispered.
"I'm sure there's a creature around this cave," Cynrad said, I just kept quiet and then bit into the fruit again, I just now appreciated the fruit, they were delicious.
It took a few minutes before we finished eating, now we were arranging our things to continue our journey when I heard a rustling in the distance. I stopped and felt the surroundings.
Human footprints. if so we do have companions here.
"Hide yourselves," I told the three so they looked at me.
"Why?" Bael asked.
"Someone is coming," I said and looked at the entrance of the cave where I could feel the footsteps. I felt that the three were hiding behind me, fools.
I took my knife and prepared myself for the one who will enter the cave, I was about to throw it when I was stopped by what I saw.
"Oy, good morning, have you eaten yet? I hope you like the fruits." The woman in front of us said she had a big gun on her back and was holding a dead deer. I frowned and slowly lowered my hand, based on what I smelled, he had no intention of hurting us, the only sin I smelled in her was envy and anger towards a creature. My eyes squinted.
"Who are you then?" I asked, she smiled at me and then lowered the dead deer she was holding.
"I am Abiah Vayo, a hunter. You can call me Lah."
