Chapter 47

My tears continued to flow as I hugged him, I cried while he was locked in my arms.

"Sorry, I failed." I whispered to him.

"Ksara, what are you talking about?" he asked confused, he was about to break away from the hug when I tightened it.

"Please, don't let go, I can't look at you because I have nothing good to tell you." I said, he was silent. "I can't even help you." I added while hugging him.

"Ksara." He called me softly. "Is it because of the curse?" he asked. I didn't answer. "Ksara, don't worry about that." He says. I remained silent.

"There's nothing we can do about that." He added. Inside I was shaking my head. I know, that I can do something to make that thing go away but I don't know what is the way to make it go away. The chance to help Arae and I was wasted, the only chance was wasted.

"Then Ksara, I don't want to be king anymore. It's enough for me to be a normal creature as long as I'm by your side." He said and then released from the hug. He turned to me and smiled, he touched my cheek and then slowly kissed my forehead. I closed my eyes because of what he did.

"There is no point if I become king and my people forget their memories every time the year changes." He said then smiled at me.

"But I want you to be king." I'm right, I can see the sparkle in his eyes. "I want you to be king and rule Winsoul." I said. "I want to see you crowned and I want to see you sit on the throne." I said, biting my bottom lip when he smiled at me.

"Thank you, thank you for believing that I can rule winsoul well, but Ksara the curse--"

"I will find a way to lift the curse." I said, the smile slowly disappeared from his lips, he shook his head and took a deep breath.

"Ksara you can't do anything about the curse because you're only human." He said so I was stunned. "A powerful being has control over the curse, so it's impossible for it to disappear." He said, I looked into his eyes, I couldn't read his emotions.

"What if the curse goes away?" I asked, he looked at me, he didn't smile. He hugged me, a tight hug.

"Promise me, that you will never make a pact with demons." I was stunned by what he said. "That you will never do the thing that the other fifteen kings did, that you will never call a single devil's name just so I can be king." He said that's why I was speechless.

"The demons Ksara, we can't trust them because life could be the substitute for--" I didn't finish what he was going to say, I pulled away from hugging him which surprised him, I smiled at him then turned away.

"I'm tired, let's go home." I said gently, I was about to step when I saw Cynrad standing not far in front of me and looking at Pavel and me, I just stared at him, I couldn't escape his tears but I ignored, I started walking and when I passed Cynrad, I heard her whispering.

"I wish I was him." I heard him whisper, I stopped at his level then took a deep breath.

"He hates people like me." I whispered enough for him to look at me, I just looked in front of me then took a deep breath and walked towards the old man's house again.

People will never change their view of creature like me. When will I get used to it? I have been hearing those words from other people for almost a few hundred years, but why does it hurt me when it comes from Pavel?

When I entered Gabriel's house, the three immediately looked at me, I looked away.

"I'm about to sleep." I said then went upstairs where Gabriel's room was located, when I entered The old man's room I immediately sat on the bed.

My feeling is heavy, Pavel can't trust people like me, after all, why should people trust creature like me? I closed my eyes.
"I didn't mean to be like this." I whispered and clenched my fist, if there is anyone to blame for why I became like this, it is none other than my parents who sold me to the devil and the demons who sheltered me and made me like this.

"Why can't people be satisfied with the things they have? When are they going to come to an agreement with--" I stopped and sat down when something came to my mind to help Pavel. Right, that's it.

But he just said that he doesn't trust us, that I will never make a deal with demons. I laughed at the thought, how could I make peace with the demons if I was myself is a demon. I bit my bottom lip.

"If he doesn't know that he will make a deal with me, he won't be angry, I can temporarily remove the curse with him making a deal with me, that way Gabriel will be able to enter the barrier and we will be able to join him in winsoul and become king Pavel." I said to myself then smiled.

No one will ever beat my cunning.

The only problem I have is how to get him to agree to what I want.

"Ksara." I looked at the door when it opened, I saw the face of a holy woman, she smiled at me before she went inside.

"Can I talk to you?" She asked, I then moved to my seat, she sat next to me then looked at me.

"H-How are you doing? Grandpa told me you did something to break the curse." She said, I looked at her. I took a deep breath and looked in another direction.

"I failed." I said, the whole room fell silent. I felt her disappointment so I coughed and looked up at her. "Don't be disappointed, I can feel your pity for me." I said, she smiled at me, a smile mixed with sadness.

"I thought I could go home." She said then looked in another direction.

"My ssister Alada is stubborn, no matter what I do to talk to her, she won't listen." I said, she bowed.

"Do you still remember what you told me before? about making a deal with you?" She asked so I looked at her. "You said, making an agreement with you is the biggest sin I can commit because that would be rejecting God." She said so I was stunned. By the way, if Pavel makes an agreement with me secretly, it's still another sin, it's a more serious sin if it's true that I've made it my mission to make Pavel bad.

"Do you also remember what you said in return? you said that when I make a deal with you, you will take the life and soul of my parents." I saw her eyes watering so I looked at the other way.

"I'm talking to you Ksara, I want to make peace with you but I hope you don't take my parents' lives and souls in exchange." She said so I turned to her, she was serious about what she said, she seemed determined to go home with them.

"Please Ksara." She looked at me and held both of my hands, I looked at her then looked back at her face.

"When I said the replacement, that will never change." I said so her hand slowly let go of mine, I swallowed and closed my eyes. I would gamble half my life if I reconciled with her again.

"Is that so?" She said softly, I immediately grabbed her hand. She looked at me, now I looked into her eyes, a pleading look. Regardless, the demon's lives will last for several hundred years before they disappear completely. I have been living for two hundred years, my life was reduced by one hundred years when I made a deal with a holy woman to help me make Pavel evil, now, I will make a deal with her again. And with this chance half of my remaining life will be lost.

"K-ksara, why are you peeing--"

"I'm the one... I'll make a deal with you." I said so she stopped and stiffened. "You remember when I made an agreement between the two of us?" I asked, she kept looking at me. "I didn't take anything else from you, I didn't ask for anything else in return." I bowed down. "I will agree with you, because I want Pavel to be king." I smiled at what I said.

"K-ksara..." She called me, I looked at her. "N-Nothing will happen to me or you at the time I accept your agreement, will it?" She asked, I just stared into her eyes then nodded in response.

"No, nothing will happen to you or me." I lied, I saw the curve of a smile on her lips.

"Then... I will accept what you offer me, so I can go home to us and Pavel can be king." She said, I smiled. I will do the right thing, Pavel will not be affected, it will make it easier for us to return to winsoul.

"Then… this is my condition." I said and smiled at her. "The curse on winsoul will disappear temporarily and we can return there without losing your memories." I said, she was stunned.

"Short term?" she asked.

"Alada is too strong, I can only give a brief respite." I said.

"Then when will the curse return?" she asked. I smiled.

"The curse on the winsoul will disappear temporarily and will only return when the horn is severed, the tail is broken, the beast smiles and turns to dust." I said while holding her hand.
