THIRTEEN!

BRIANNA

I kept my head down, especially a form of acknowledgement from the King. I looked at Trish whose head was also bent down, but she was slightly behind me.

“What's going on?” I whispered to her, she shrugged her shoulders and kept her head down.

Nah, this is bullshit, I don't think they expect me to keep my head down with my legs crossed for about thirty minutes.

“Don't get up,” I heard Trish say like she was struggling with her words, but it was too late.

I got up and faced the king, his eyes were red and a shocked expression filled his face. “How long has he been that way,” I wondered.

“Your Majesty,” one of the men beside him tapped him a little.

He cleared his throat and smiled down at me, he got off his throne and walked towards me.

He stood in front of me and I stared him in the eyes, the whole court room was filled with murmurs.

“Welcome home, Child,” he hugged me slightly and kissed both my cheeks. He walked over to Trish, brought her up to her feet and acknowledged her as well.

“Your Majesty,” we bowed for the second time. Trish had taught me the ways of a courtroom in our short little time.

It wasn't the usual courtroom in the human world but she told me we have those as well.

“So what brings you back, Brianna,” he said to me, I tried to hide my surprise that he knew my name.

“Of course, I know your name,” he said, "I guess I didn't try enough, “your parents were good friends of the court. It was a shame and an act of war what the rogues did,” he said, emphasizing the art of war.

Trish had earlier told me the known cause of death of my parents and that the king will welcome me with open hands because no one knew his secret.

Instead of killing me on the spot, he will put on a smile and be the supposed respectful King he is supposed to be.

The whole of the supernatural world thinks I'm my illusion, twin sister, even though they don't know me. But the King knows who I really am. Not an illusion twin but the real deal.

“Thank you, your Majesty,” I tried to put on a straight face. It's taking everything in me not to slit his throat right now but I doubt I will get within thirty feet if I do.

“I hope your last vacation was the last one, your people need you here,” he said and I nodded smiling.

“I have done enough sightseeing and I have gained a lot of knowledge,” I said, “very soon my people will prosper more than they already have,” I said to him.

I was overwhelmed when Trish told me that I am the Head of over four million people. I mean how big is this kingdom.

In every dukedom park they are sub parks, which Trish is head off and everything still doesn't make sense to me.

I haven't even gone sightseeing in my park. I am too nervous to show myself and I have been giving into my anxiety.

It's exactly what happened when I wanted to present my doctorate papers. I was prepared and I knew I would crush it but my anxiety almost caused me that degree.

Thankfully Trish and my parents were there to help.

“That's good,” he said, walking away, “I'm glad,” he said as he took his seat on the throne.

“Is there anything you would like to discuss?” He asked.

“Yeah, how about why you killed my parents and want my powers for yourself?” I said in my head.

That's a question that has been bothering me since Trish told me most of the story. Why does he want my powers and why haven't they even manifested in me. Trish said they take time to.

“I'm just here for the meetings my king,” I said, bowing my head a little. There is a lot of curtsy in this world.

“Alpha King,” he corrected me.

“Of course, my apologies, my Alpha King,” I said, walking away.

“I will send you an invitation soon for a dinner with my family,” he said and I stopped walking.

“Your Majesty, that's not necessary,” I said to him, trying to find a way out of this so-called dinner.

“Nonsense, Lady Trisha you are also invited,” he said to Trish.

“I'm honored your majesty,” she said, he nodded and spoke to the men beside him.

As we walked out of the courtroom I couldn't help but glare at Trish, “I'm honored your majesty, really Trisha?” I sounded pissed.

“You don't decline an invitation from his Majesty,” she said and I scoffed.

“You do if you are not interested,” I said and she laughed. Her eyes suddenly glowed and her face flustered.

“What's going on, Trish?” I asked, sounding worried.

I suddenly felt a tingling feeling in my stomach and I turned around and there he was.

Standing tall and handsome, his tuxedo blended with the color of his eyes. As we walked by every lady in the hallway suddenly started blushing and batting flirtation eyes at him.

“His here,” myself and Trish said at the same time and I got confused.

“Who is here?” I asked her and she pointed at the man by the left hand side of Liam.

“Isn't he handsome?” She giggled like a little child. I have honestly never seen this side of her.

“Yes, he is,” I said to her, “but he is coming right here,” she said her face turned red immediately.

Liam didn't get to me, he walked into the courtroom with a man on his left hand side.

“Hi, Ethan,” the ladies flirted with him and he seemed to be enjoying it. My guess is they are only doing it to get to Liam.

“Aren't they ladies?” I asked Trish.

“Yeah, they are,” she said and I was surprised. Wow, this world isn't all that different.

Ethan stopped in front of me and then turned, he looked confused but he wasn't looking at me.

I looked at Trisha but she wasn't there, I looked behind me but she wasn't there. He then looked at me but his confusion grew.

“Are you..”

“Ethan!” His name was called and he hurried away.

“That was close,” I heard Trish's voice beside me. She suddenly appeared.

“I thought you said no charms in the palace,” I whispered.

“That was an emergency,” she said, the redness on her face seemed to have calmed down.

“Is he your mate, Trish?” I asked the obvious question.

“No, he is not because he doesn't know who I am and neither do I,” she said.

I chuckled, “well you know enough to avoid him,” I said and she rolled her eyes.

“Hey, don't act like you didn't want to crawl into a hole when you saw Liam,” she said and I felt myself blush at his name.

“He didn't tell me who he is. Who he really is,” I said to her, sadly.

“Did you tell him who you are?” She asked, giving me a nasty look.

“That look isn't good on you,” I said to her, laughing and trying to evade the question.

“That wasn't what I asked, Brianna,” she said.

“No, I didn't tell him,” I exhaled.

“The meeting will commence now,” someone with a very loud voice spoke. Trish calls them the palace bells.

I don't know if that's what they are called or it's just Trish being Trish.

We were directed to a very huge hall with lots of seats and even food.

“I thought this was supposed to be a meeting,” I said to Trish.

“We are royalty,” she said smiling. I rolled my eyes at her. I still haven't gotten to the idea of being a duchess or royalty.

“You look really pretty,” I heard behind me and turned to look.

“So do you,” I said and she smiled.

“I'm Lady Anne,” she said, bowing to me. As a lady she was obliged to.

“I'm duchess,..”

“Duchess Brianna, of course, I know who you are, my lady,” she said, smiling with her teeth.

“Okay,” I giggled. I have only been here, not up to two months.

“People talk, my lady, including, housekeeper,” she said and suddenly her witful smile turned into a sour look and she walked away.

“What did she want?” Trish said behind me and I got scared.

“Damn, Trish!” I slightly yelled at her.

“You shouldn't be talking to her,” she said and I scoffed.

“She seems nice,” I said to her and her scoff was bigger than mine.

“No, she is not. She is the lady to Lady Margaret, whose Father is a duke,” she said.

I rolled my eyes, “who is Lady Margaret?” I asked.

“The heir to the throne betrothed,” she said and my heart skipped a beat.

What does that mean Liam is getting married?.
