LIAM

“Cover! Fire!” I screamed as the battle became intense.

“We need to get you inside!” Mason yelled at me.

“I'm not leaving my men. We fight to the death!” I yelled back at him.

“Your highness, I have a good sniper position,” the Sergeant said to me, “if we can get there, we can neutralize the enemy,” I nodded.

“Ethan you and the men with you cover us from the right, Mason you cover us from the left. Let's go, move!”

“Copy that!” They both moved into position.

“Let's go Sergeant,” we both moved to the location he had scouted and made our bearings there.

“Give me the bearings,” I said as soon as I set my rifle.

“0245,” I positioned my scope and took the shot.

“0235,” after twenty shots without the enemy knowing our position we took them all out.

“Good job, Sergeant,” I said to him.

“Incoming!” We heard down and dove right into a hug sand.

All I could hear was a loud ringing in my ear and my head. “Sergeant!” I tried calling out but I couldn't move.

“Liam, Liam,” I looked up to see Mason and Ethan trying to get me up.

“Where is the Sergeant?” I asked and my eyes met his body. I rushed over him immediately.

“He is still breathing!” I yelled, “medic!” I felt his hands tighten around mine.

“You have to go, your highness. That was meant for you but I'm honored to have fought beside you,” he said and his hands weakened.

“Stay with me Sergeant, stay with me! Where is the medic!”

“Over here, your highness.”

“We have to go, Liam. We have to go now!” He yelled as himself and Ethan got me up and led me out of the battle field.

“This is a shit storm,” Ethan said as we got away.

“You shouldn't have taken me away from him,” I charged at Mason.

“The Sergeant was right, that missile was meant for you not him,” he said and I let go off him.

“He laid down his life for yours. I thought you would have gotten used to it by now,” he said and I glared at him.

“Where is my father?” I asked the guard in front of me.

“Right this way, your highness,” he led me to tye throne room. It was filled with commanders and Luitenants.

“Father,” I called out as soon as i spotted him, “your majesty.”

“Liam,” he pulled me for a tight hug, “I'm glad you are okay. I heard what happened,” he said, releasing me.

“Is it over?” I asked him.

“Yes, you and your men took out the last threat,” he said and I nodded, “what about the Sergeant?” He asked.

“Still no word,” I said to him. He nodded and placed his hands on my shoulder.

“I'm sorry but he doesn't get any easier,” he said and I sighed.

“This was supposed to be a peace treaty, what happened?” I asked him.

“Overlord Isa, thought it was wise to ambush me and try to kill me,” he said and I shook my head.

“How dare he?” I thundered and the whole room shook, “where his he?”

“Careful, you are in front of me,” he said and I breathe heavily. “I know you lost a man but you can't be seen losing control,” he said to me. My hands turned into a fist.

“Go and see your fiancee, make sure she is safe,” he said to me.

“The Sergeant isn't dead father,” I said to him.

“He will soon no one can survive a missile thrown at him,” he said to me.

I walked out of the throne room to see the medics I left the Sergeant with.

“How is he?” I asked them.

“I'm sorry your highness but he was dead as soon as you left,” one of them said and my body went stiff.

When his hands weakened around mine. He was already gone.

“Where is he?” I asked.

“In the morgue, your highness,” he said and I walked towards it.

“Prepare his ceremony. Full honors,” I said to Mason.

“Of course, your highness,” he said to me.

“I need a minute alone,” I told them as we got to the morgue.

I walked in to see the Sergeant's body on the table.

“You placed my life first before yours, I will continue to honor you and the others no matter what. No matter the compromise I will have to make,” I said my words and saluted him.

The door of the morgue suddenly opened. “I told you I needed a minute,” I said.

“There has been an incident in Brianna's castle,” Ethan said.

“No,” I said and walked out with him. I will not lose somebody else again.

As we got out, the sky was dark, “what's the time?” I asked.

“Past 10pm,” Mason said.

“This is her bedtime,” I said to them as we raced towards her castle.

We got there in a matter of minutes to see the King's guard already investigating.

“What do you know?” I asked the senior officer in charge.

“Your highness, according to smell and cameras as well, the duchess wasn't in the castle when the place was trashed,” he said to me as we looked around.

“What about the people who trashed it?” I asked him.

“We are already on the hunt,” he said and I nodded.

“What about the Duchess, where is she?” I asked him.

“Back home,” Ethan said and I looked at him confused.

“How could you possibly know that?” I asked him.

“Myself and Trisha we just connected. They need our help,” he said and we ran out immediately.

“Get the chopper ready!” I yelled at Mason as we raced to the airfield.

Driving in cars hasn't been my thing in a while and I enjoy racing to my destination.

We got to the airfield and the chopper was ready for us.

“What is happening?” I asked Ethan.

“A lot of villages are under fire attacks from Castillo,” he said, surprised at his words.

“Castillo?!” Myself and Mason said at the same time.

“Yes,” he answered. “That explains a lot of things,” he said and I nodded.

“Castillo is behind the overlord Isa rebellion,” I said and he nodded.

“Look,” Mason said. I looked down from the chopper to see fires everywhere. But there was something else or rather someone else.

“Is that?”

It was Brianna, standing in the air and using water manipulation to put out the fires.

“Yes, that's Brianna. She is saving tye village.”

Suddenly tye chopper began to shake, “ mayday mayday. We are going down!” The Pilot yelled
